We cruised to Bermuda last summer with our 18 month old on the Summit. We had a fantastic time and the crew on the Summit were catered to our son and we never had a bad experience about having a little one with us. We also ate breakfast and lunch a lot in the dining room which we felt was easier with our son ( not having to carry food from the buffet, have a toddler in tow, running back and forth from the table, etc.) This year we are doing the Caribbean on RCCL due to him being older and needing more to do.

That would be great!!! I can't wait for the details!

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Nursery on Harmony or Allure. My son will be 2.5 years old when we sail and we are throwing around the idea of signing him up for an hour or 2 so we can do an adult dinner. We have never used the nursery on any ship before ( he was only 18 months on our last cruise and we were not comfortable leaving him). Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated! What kind of activities do they do with the under 3 group? How are the counselors? Thanks!

Thank you for all of the responses! I'm feeling more confident hearing your feedback!

Has anyone utilized the "Nursery" on DCL?? Im thinking about booking Disney and am curious about this. My son will be 2.5 when we go and the nursery is for kids under 3. We were thinking about possibly signing him up for it for an hour or so we could go to the spa but I am nervous about leaving him with someone. We have cruised with him previously on X, but now that he is getting older, we are exploring other options. We love X, but he definitely needs child friendly entertainment! LOL

Praying that the weather report will change. It can rain.....just rain at night! Lol. Overcast is fine, just no steady rain!

I could happen, however they are predicting that the storm will hit the coast ( Florida and Georgia) and it doesn't seem to go near Bermuda. Praying it stays far away!

I have spoken with my OB and it is now confirmed that Zika can live in men for up to 8 months and women for 2 months. If you are pregnant or looking to become pregnant soon, I would call the dr. And seriously look into another location.

Thanks everyone. I'm happy to hear that people have had such positive experiences and it's more than just a dinner version of the lunch buffet. I think we will be checking it out after a long day in Bermuda! As much as we love the MDR and having the same waiter every night, sometimes we are trying to keep our eyes open during dinner and yawning before the salad comes! Lol

Thanks everyone! Sounds like something we will need to check out. And the idea of dining outside is really appealing!

Wow! The cook to order meat and fish looks great! I'm hoping they have that on the summit. I just found out that early seating was moved to 530 and depending on what we do in port, that might be cutting it a little close.

I've never been to the dinner buffet, however we are entertaining trying it this cruise after a long day in port. Can anyone let me know what kind of food is served? Is it on par with the MDR in terms of quality? Thanks!!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback! Idk how we feel about the babysitting since he is little and not old enough for the kids club ( first time worried parents). We think we are going to just see how the week plays out and see how he does in the main dining room first. If we do go, we will definitely be making earlier reservations so hopefully the restaurant would be more empty and possibly have more diners with children. And thank you islandgirl4242! We are firm believers that yes, this is our vacation, but we want to take into account the others around us as well; and we hope that others would do the same.

I agree with you both. He does sit quietly and will entertain himself with a coloring book and some non noisy toys. I wanted to make sure they allowed children. The normandie did not allow little ones. Trust me, i wouldn't be bringing him there if he was roudy; I wouldn't enjoy my meal and wouldn't want to put others through that. My hubby and I don't want to subject others to things that we would be bothered with ourselves. Lol

Can anyone let me know if the Tuscan grille is family/child friendly?? We wouldn't want to bring our son to where it was an environment not suited for him, however, we do enjoy specialty restaurants. Regarding his behavior, he can easily sit through a meal; so that isn't a concern of mine. Thoughts??? TIA!!

Oh good, I'm happy we can request. After reading this I did put a call into my travel agent and she is setting a reservation time for select dining while trying to see if she can get us into early seating.
Yes, I am prepared to pay full gratuities and I would certainly do so anyway. I am lucky that my son is very well behaved the majority of the time, however with that being said, the gratuity is still well deserved in all aspects of the vacation. And hey, no judgement here; before we had our son we weren't thrilled with sitting with kids or other people for they matter. To each their own on vacation. But wanting to travel with him, we definitely want to make sure we are prepared so it's enjoyable for everyone (including other passengers! Lol)

Oh wow, I didn't realize I didn't have the option to ask for a table for 3 when doing select dining either. Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are going to Bermuda on the 29th on the summit. We are avid cruisers and go on celebrity every year and love it. However, this will be our first cruise with our son who is 17 months old. Anyone have any tips? We usually have late seating dinner but are entertaining select dining ( we have never tried it before). Thanks in advance!!!!

I am not sure, but I will tell you that I am cruising on celebrity tomorrow and I am 19 weeks pregnant. They are requiring a medical note stating I am under 24 weeks and healthy to travel. They seem to be strict on their policies to travel with health conditions. I am so sorry for
Your diagnosis and I wish you a speedy recovery!!!! I hope you can go so you can relax and unwind!
Luminae-is it worth it
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
Hi everyone,
My husband and I are seriously considering booking a sky suite and one of the major draws is Luminae; so our question is...how great is it? We typically do speciality dining 2-3x a cruise which we would skip if we dined in Luminae. Any other suite reviews that can push us one way or the other? We are not new to cruising, but the suite would we new to us. Our son would be cruising with us too, so the extra room is always welcomed! Lol
Thanks!!!
