  1. First I want to thank everyone for such thoughtful, informative answers. This group is the best!! We have done some additional research and have narrowed it down to a Rome to Rome 10 night on the Edge, a 7 night Venice to Rome on the Infinity or a 9 night Venice to Rome on the Constellation. We will visit the embarkation and departing cities for 2-3 days each. The Edge is more expensive and we aren't sure we will utilize the ship to warrant the extra money. We typically like longer cruises (10 nights +).
  2. We have been on many cruises but are planning our first cruise to Europe. Have a few questions: Please rank in importance - ship, ports, number of days, time of year. If paper guides are still used, anyone have a recommendation for a good travel guide? Should we consider using a travel agent for our first venture or do you tend to learn more about what you are going to see by doing the research on your own? This may be a one-time trip so we want to get it right. Thanks
  3. You typically choose Select dining when you book your cabin. If not eating in Blu or Luminae you will be assigned one of the 4 MDRs but you can book in any of the other three as well as any of the specialty restaurants as soon as you can get in your Cruise Planner on the website. Have booked ours for 2021.
  4. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions and expertise! We will definitely sail with Celebrity. We couldn't decide between a British Isles cruise and a Baltic cruise so we are going to book both when we board the Silhouette in 25 days!! Who said making decisions is hard?!?
  5. Julia: Yes in my opinion it is a mirror image of GastroPub. Located in the same place, very similar menu items and the GastroPub took around 20-30 mins to get food due to distance from the kitchen!
  6. They also don't have the Apex listed on the dropdown list!?!
  7. We applied for our upcoming Silhouette cruise booked March 2018. We were denied because we had other offers. Should we try again on-line and see what happens?
  8. Viewing the deck plans it appears Quasar is now the Meeting Place. Was this pre or post revolution? Always seemed an underutilized area. What is Meeting Place? Also appears that GastroPub will now be a craft beer area or was it still Cellar Masters?
  9. Would there not be better participation if people were aware of these theme parties prior to packing?? Come on Celebrity...we like to party but really need to plan for these nights before we leave!!
  10. Thank you so much for the comprehensive answers!!
  11. Have always wondered what the difference between the various categories inside of a particular cabin type mean. Is it location only or other particulars? Also which is the higher grade cabin C1 or C3? I also never can tell by looking at the deck plans what the cabin level is (1,2, or 3). Any help there is appreciated.
  12. I do apologize! I thought I was on the roll call for my upcoming cruise.
  13. Thanks will check how many other ships will be in port and use that info to make our decision. My DH absolutely must have shade of some sort!
  14. Just a reminder the increase for grats goes up on Jan 6th if not included as a perk or already paid for. Its a small savings but every little bits helps! Happy New Year to everyone!
  15. Did you ever get your questions answered. Going in March and would like to go to Eagle Beach on our own as well. Have you already been on your cruise and perhaps be able to provide some direction. Thanks in advance.
