  1. We did the All Access Tour on Allure last year and it was worth every penny. A lot of walking, standing and stairs. We were required to wear long pants and close toed shoes. They did refuse one lady who showed up in capris and sandals. I was surprised they enforced it, but they would not let her go. The tour lasted several hours- at least 3 or a little longer. It was fascinating. So glad we did it.

  2. Our first several cruises we ate in the MDR every night including both formal nights. DH wears a tux and I wear a long gown. The more we cruised, we started doing just the second formal night. Still do the tux and gown. Not a big fan of the new menus so we don't always eat in the MDR anymore. It's easier these days to do whatever you feel like doing and we like the choices. When we do formal nights, we couldn't care less what anyone else is wearing or doing. Different strokes and all that. :)

  3. As long as the dog wasn't dressed in jeans and flip flops on formal night, I'm good with it.;)

    For the win!!! :D

On one of our recent cruises, we had a lady with a Yorkie. I kept telling my DH that there was a dog on the ship and he thought I was hitting the bars too much until we were getting on the elevator one day and she was getting off and he saw the dog for himself. She said it was a service dog.

  4. I have loved every ship I have ever been on from the biggest to the smallest. We have done so many on the Voyager class that's it a definite favorite. But we have sailed twice on Allure now and I love that ship!! Love, love, love Central Park and all the show options. I never felt crowded on it. It never felt too big. I cannot wait to go on her again.

We have never had anything but a balcony or a junior suite or a grande suite. We like our space. And I love sitting on the balcony in the morning and drinking coffee. It's so peaceful and quiet and private.

  5. Man Bag-------yes, as in gay purse. Just got married last month after the laws changed---after 34 years together. Proud of our lives together and the travels we have been fortunate to experience. :D ;)

No bling, just a regular old lanyard. One that has an easy snap off part so I do not have to hand over the entire thing when using key card on the ship. When we go ashore I tuck the lanyard inside my shirt. I look enough like a tourist without advertising it.

Congratulations!! My sister and her partner flew to San Francisco and got married last year after almost 40 years together. I hope you have many more years of travels together!!

  6. Pretty sure I said Geek....lol. So...in your everyday life, do you lose your keys, credit cards, wallet, etc a few times a week? Just curious. What is the difference in your key card that you have to wear it around your neck? Really, just curious in a very nice way. :)

I never lose any of those things because they are in my purse. I don't carry a purse on a cruise and I rarely have pockets so I use a lanyard too. I particularly love the blitzy ones. Lol

ETA- my hubby wears one too. No digging in the pocket or backpack looking for it. It's right there. But he doesn't have the bling one. :-)

  7. I think it is funny many people who have the pins choose not to wear them yet list every cruise they have been on. isn't listing cruises a bit of bragging?

I list my cruises for me. It helps me remember dates, ships and itineraries. You can feel free to ignore my list. :D

And I never got an emerald either. Didn't exist when we passed that mark. I probably would have liked that one. :)

  8. Officially they aren't but the first thing our cabana attendant told us was he would get us the wrist bands to go to the buffet. he wouldn't even tell us where the buffet was for the rest of the people on Nellies.

That's how it was for us last October on Allure. We had a beach cabana at Nellie's. Our cabana attendant told us to come with him and he would get us "the good lunch". He gave us the wristbands and walked us over to BB. I'm not sure what made it upgraded. It was good but nothing too special.

  9. DH and I always cruise together so we book and pay together. I have two friends who live in different cities who want to book a cabin together and pay separately. If one calls RCI and books, can the other then call and pay their share of the deposit? Silly question, but I have never done it so have no idea how that works. We cruise often with my mom and a friend of hers, but they live in the same city and just get together and call and pass the phone back and forth.

    Thanks!

  10. We were also on this sailing. We ate in the MDR three nights out of seven and had no complaints about the food or the service. I'm not a big fan of the new menus, but what we had was very good including the lobster.

We ate at Chops one night and both had the filet. It was excellent and cooked perfectly. The sides were nothing spectacular, but they were good. The service was excellent. Overall, we enjoyed it very much and loved sitting outside with the lights from Central Park.

We did think the pizza at Sorrentos was disgusting. Inedible. We each took one bite and threw it out. No idea what they did to it, but yuck!
