We had been on the Sky for one month prior to the pandemic. The food was lovely. We were excited to cruise her again several months ago. Oh my...the food was horrendous🤯. We almost dreaded every dinner.
-
Over the past year, we have cruised on both Princess and Celebrity. Food quality and selection have declined on both lines since the pandemic. Doubt we will ever return to Princess...it was that bad. Giving Celebrity another try in June. We have to remind ourselves that we don't cruise just for the food.

What is included in room service breakfast?
-
The first time on the Equinox was wonderful. A few months later...on the Infinity...it was a disaster. There were too many diners for the staff to handle.

1. Just show up and you will be seated (or have a very short wait)
2. No you cannot on Apex, however you can eat in the MDR on any night
3. No substitutions such as you mention. No special requests without prior notice and approval
For us the biggest reason for Blu is to avoid the main dining room at all costs. We were recently on the equinox and the infinity. Their MDRs are food halls...not dining rooms. Noisy and crowded and not for us anymore. So we need to pay up for some order and serenity.

As a benefit of booking aqua class, guests are offered an expanded room service breakfast menu...is there now a charge?? Hard to believe...but anything is possible.

What is elite plus? Is there a tier above elite?
Sorry for the typo..no...elite is it. Btw, we were told (who knows if it is true) that the chef on our November sailing would be leaving in a few weeks. So...there's hope that things will be better.
-
We had been on the Sky for one month 3 years ago...the inaugural sailing. We sailed her again in mid November. All in all..it was not the "homecoming" we expected. The food... especially in the main dining room was pretty bad. There was not one meal that was memorable. Gone were the gorgeous desserts. Meats were tough...fish dried out. As elite plus we won't be sailing princess again for a long time. We relaxed, enjoyed being on the ocean...but we can do that on other lines. Oh...and then we got Covid. Not good.

You show your documents at the port, just as you would a passport.
Also, you can try to upload them to the document area on the App. But it is a pain, others have tried. So, I’d probably just leave the App alone and bring my docs with me.
Unless you DO get your new passports, then delete the old passports and enter the new ones on the App.
Good luck! I hope you get your new ones.
If you got stuck in the Caribbean for some reason, you would not be able to fly home on a birth certificate/Dr Lis.
So…stay safe.
Nothing like stressing over a cruise...

Certified birth certificates and a valid US driver's license are required, if your passports do not arrive in time these will work.
Assuming you are going roundtrip to/from Florida and US citizens.
Thank you. So..when they ask for passports at the port...we just show the other documents? Or do we have to make prior arrangement?

I signed up for status alerts. 🤞 Wonder if they don't come what we can do.

Have you checked the status on them? You can do that here if you mailed the renwal: U.S. Passport Application Status (state.gov)
You might still be able to get them expedited. When I renewed mine through the mail recently, there was something on the status page about if you're traveling soon.
Thanks. Says in process. Nothing more.

We have a Caribbean cruise from Florida coming up mid November. We sent our passports in for renewal. After mailing them we realized we were cutting it close and may not get them back in time. Anyone know if we can sail with other docs.

The biggest problem we had on the Infinity was the cabin. There were continuous motor sounds coming from the ceiling. The air con never went off..and there was, in addition, another motor sound too. It could not be fixed. We toughed it out for the 7 nights. We have cruised over 50 times and have never encountered this before. Last time on this ship for sure. It was cabin 6109.

No converters needed.

Has anyone used a collapsible walker or transit chair getting on a tender? We will be going to Belize and wonder if it's possible. Are there enough employees to help?

Currently on 7 nights Alaska. First night frigid cold, second night blistering hot. Called maintenance morning of third day. Fixed- yeah, NOT. Had to call again afternoon of third day, took half hour of work, broken control. 3rd night, great! This morning, 4th day, frigid. Called maintenance, they had to “reset”. I’m getting REALLY tired of this. Good luck in months a head if your in this room!!

Another Warning balcony cabin 6109 on the Infinity. August 6 thru 13 sailing. Constant overhead motor noises. Never shut off...ever...day and night..whether the door was open or closed. Probably a combination of air con and another motor in the ceiling. Brutal. Never had anything like this in over 50 cruises. Couldn't wait for the cruise to end. Maintenance could never fix...and doubt they ever will. So 😭.

crimsonbird ~ I moved this to the Celebrity board so you might receive some responses. I have never heard of this before.
Thanks. It was so awful just clouded the entire cruise

We just returned from the August 6th sailing and endured cabin 6109 for the 7 nights. It is a large accessible balcony cabin mid ship. The problem was it had a continuous motor sound coming out of the ceiling. Housekeeping and Engineering came to the cabin and heard the constant noise. Some remedies were tried but nothing worked. The cabin was never quiet, the air con never stopped and there was an additional motor sound that was undetermined. Question is...has anyone else ever experienced something similar? There was no cabin for us to change to Truthfully, we have cruised many times and never encountered this problem.

I have a Greek Isles cruise booked on RCCL. They swapped ships and I consider the replacement, Enchantment of the Seas, to be inferior to the ship (older) and cabin (much smaller, far worse layout) versus what I had previously booked.
So I did a refundable potential replacement cruise on Infinity. It's about $1,000 more, but the cabin is a lot bigger and I suspect the food and service would be much better.
But I am concerned about the age and condition of Infinity. Early this year, we sailed on Summit, which had been revolutionized and was in really nice shape. But to my knowledge, Infinity hasn't had a major upgrade in quite a few years.
Is this a legitimate concern? Any further thoughts about the condition of Infinity? On right now. It's our 5th time over the years. Things look ok..there's rust here and there..but the big problem is staffing. This is all over the travel industry. The dining room food is fine...nothing fabulous...the same old menus on most of the ships. You really need to be on the Edge or the other newer ships to see a big improvement/change.

Thank you for the review. We board Infinity a week from Saturday. Will be our first time back on M-class in many moons.
Glad to hear about the excursion in Grand Turk as we have it booked. We have been contemplating La Petite Chef and think we may pull the trigger.
Ryan
We are on the Infinity right now. Save your money on le Petite Chef. It is great is when there are just a few guests. We tried it again on this cruise as we loved it in the past...it was awful. They were understaffed and the amount of guests were too many for this type of venue.

That is per person. Rolls are $9-$12ish. Sides and shashimi are mostly under $10. If you're used to ordering a boat, probably not, but for a light-ish meal it's plenty. The little beef sliders are delicious.
Thanks. We just eat cooked...not raw...do you think there's enough selection?
-
Oh that's great. Is the 35 doable for dinner there??

If one purchases the three specialty restaurant package, is Sushi on Five included? We see it is ala carte...so how does that work??? Any one know???

We will be in aqua in a couple of weeks. Did u ask your steward for a bottle of wine upon boarding? I read that one needs to request it in aqua class. Also, how many exercise classes were included? Was dining in the aqua restaurant easy? We are unable to make reservations. Are they even needed? Thanks in advance.
