Yes - we had the same experience when we sailed her from L.A. twice -- we don't spend the entire day there so it's usually fine. We'll spend part of the late morning/early afternoon there and then retreat to the Spa - we have a Spa Balcony again on this sailing so we'll be taking FULL advantage as usual! :D
Serenity Deck is not our fave on Splendor due to its proximity to the mini-golf course above! LOL.

Now...if only shore excursions were loading on the website! I haven't been able to access them all morning....
-
Sorry - forgot to say ANCHORS - since this is a tender stop. Get off the tender and get outta there! :D

There are ZERO beaches near the area where the ship docks.
If that is all you see of Belize, you will be VERY disappointed. Get out of the dock area as quickly as you can.
You can fly Tropic Air to Ambergris Caye - you can book a reef snorkel with independent companies who will arrange your air for you. You just need to arrange for a taxi to/from Tropic Air.
We did this in October and had an AMAZING time. We booked a tour via Grump and Happy Tours - they are #1 on tripadvisor for a good reason but they are not inexpensive. There are other tour operators who are less pricey.
You can also just take a ferry to Caye Caulker and go exploring.
Whatever you do....GET OUT of the dock area - nasty, nasty, nasty and you'll never see Belize for the beauty it truly has. It makes me crazy when people complain about what a lousy cruise ship stop this is if they never leave the immediate dock area. Not ever cruise ship dock has instant good times the minute you disembark - you have got to GET OUT THERE :D

Breeze...no comparison....definitely do the Breeze.

Great! Thank you for confirming!

Greetings to all from rainy Los Angeles - finally!!!!
I am getting ready to confirm a spa balcony cabin on a January 2015 sailing of the Splendor to celebrate my husband's birthday -- can anyone confirm that the aft pool is still reserved for adults? We really enjoyed that aspect the couple of times we sailed her out of L.A.
Love the idea of four ports - we really loved Belize and Roatan on the Dream this last year and look forward to doing both of those again with the added bonus of Grand Cayman!!

We are just back and let me just say....our excursion ROCKED!! Loren and Jolene from grumpyandhappy tours took care of booking flights for us via Tropic Air - very easy to get out of the pier area, grab a cab, and get to the airport for the quick - and beautiful! - flight to Ambergris. We ended up being able to hop an earlier flight there since we get an early tender. Right across the street from the San Pedro Airport was the little Sunbreeze Hotel where we had breakfast and watched Loren and Jolene pull the boat up to the pier in front.
They took us on an AMAZING three stop snorkel tour - tons of nurse sharks, rays (one they actually know by name - "Stumpy") - a giant turtle who would swim right near us! It was just me and my husband. My husband is NOT a brave snorkeler and he did GREAT with this trip! I cannot recommend them enough. They have great reviews on TA and mine will be up soon! Tons of fish and just beautiful.
It was not inexpensive but WORTH EVERY PENNY! With flights included, it was about $225/pp - you will NOT regret it if you book with them!

We booked a private excursion with grumpy and happy tours -- they are number 1 on tripadvisor. It is not cheap - but it includes airfare to Ambergis Cay, equipment, etc. I'll post a review when we return - leaving Saturday on the Carnival Dream.

So glad everything worked out on the DR tour!

Haha I went to dig up that picture just for you! The original cornbread post that started it all! :D
Two years later, I say THIS IS STILL NOT CORNBREAD!!!! You can't just put corn on top of bread and call it cornbread.
OMG I remember this!! I remember reading this and LMFAO!!!

You realize of course that I will be looking for you every time I fly now - and I fly a LOT for work - LOL. I was just in HOTlanta last month!

OMG I am laughing out loud that you found that dress at Ross! I was JUST saying to a friend this morning that I get SO annoyed when the "Ross Dress Event" starts advertising on TV because I can NEVER find anything that even remotely resembles the dresses in the ads....and there you are telling me you got that great dress at....Ross....LMAO!
-
I LOVE that dress in the Aruba pic!!! Where did you get it??? Looking forward to the rest of the review - the Breeze is on our list of "to dos"!

I can never finish my entire steak when we go to the steakhouse....so I take it back to the room, pop it in the 'fridge...and the next night (depending on what they're serving in the MDR) I make a custom "steak salad" from the Lido buffet :D

Wow! Super job!! Very Disney-esque :D

11:15am on the Magic last October - no FTTF.
We purchased it for the Dream...has more to do with early tenders in Belize....but getting on the ship at 11am AND having cabin and luggage will sure be a bonus!!

Wow! Bummer about all the difficulties but she sure looks pretty!! Really tempted to book this for our next...

GOOOO SLOOOOOW :D:D
After reading through this thread a little more, I think we're going to go the "taxi to Caye Caulker" route -- especially since we've got Faster To The Fun on the Carnival Dream so we can get on the first tenders that morning.
Does anyone know the time difference? I think Belize is two hours behind ship's time? Or is it the opposite?
-
Sooooo glad I went ahead and bought this for our Dream sailing in October! Now....if I could just make time go faster!!

My solution to berries is to eat them in the morning with nothing else - I wait two hour before resuming normal low carb day - not even half n half in the coffee! Works for me and actually helps me lose!

I saw the doctor who wrote that book on Dr. OZ - it was quite fascinating! And alarming! I do know that when I cut out carbs....and I stick with it....I don't crave junk! It's such an easy WOE because you can do it almost everywhere! Including Carnival!
