Lew;
I experienced the same thing in booking my one way T/A flights. I always have used consolidators but for my last two flights (Virgin & B/A) from LAX to LHR eZAir was $$$$ cheaper than several different consolidators. Especially last year's flight that was about 2.5k less:eek:. I would have loved to take advantage of it had I not already purchased the consolidator tickets.....:):):)
Bob
Question: if it doesn't break CC rules....................what are consolidator tickets??
-
Perhaps someone knows the answer to my question. I booked EZ Air to London on United for an upcoming cruise for a great price. With a United Explorer card you get free baggage and priority boarding. Since I am paying through Princess and not on the United site, will I still get the above perks?
We have the Delta AMEX and have used EZ air twice with bookings through Delta ...one domestic and one TA and did not have to pay baggage fees. Both within the last year.

Just off the Diamond yesterday 23rd February around Asia, we pre booked excursions, tickets were in our cabin and OBC was used to pay for them with no problem.
Question re: Diamond............where is the Vines Bar located?
-
They will be charged to your credit card, if you want to use OBC to pay for them you will have to wait to book the excursions on the ship.

We have cruise for March 2017 and already booked our excursions and did not have to pay and will use OBC.
Also cruised several times last year without pre paying...just reserved
-
They also add on 15% to the corkage fee when you bring your own wine to the dinning room.
We have never been charged anything but the $15 corkage fee on any bottle we brought to MDR or to the Vines bar.
-
Does anyone know if this list includes the 15% on wine please:

Hoosier-Cruiser ...........this cabin will definitely spoil you........we have also stayed in this area on the Royal twice.
We were blessed with an upsell offer to the M107 mini suite on a 10 day Caribbean cruise .
When we sail the Regal or the Royal this is our cabin area of choice if available.

Looking at booking on the Regal forward Balcony M101. Says obstructed view and acccess is on port days. I know it can be windy can it ever be used at sea?

Have sailed in this cabin twice. The obstruction is the fact that the balcony is not Plexiglas but steel...so you have to stand to see out. Balcony is very large and pretty much protected. How many days is your cruise and where ? You will have a small love seat across from desk / fridge area, and a small table. The balcony is accessible at all times and not locked. Balcony is very private and having Lido deck above makes it pretty quiet.
It is a wonderful cabin if the cruise is port intensive.....waking up in the morning as you come into port the site is awesome.

Could you offer more info on this please? We've been on Royal and have done the Winemaker's Dinner in the Wine Cellar room in the MDR, 8 guests, hosted by maitre'd, couple wines paired with courses, etc...
Your Winemaker's sounds quite different, hadn't heard of it before, and we'd be very interested in it...could you provide some more info? Cost, sign-up, how many guests who hosts, etc? Thanks...
I actually think it was called super Tuscan dinner . They closed Sabatini's for the evening and we had a table for two. It was on a TA to Barcelona last spring. 4 wines were paired with courses. It was wonderful. I think it was $40 per couple. But not sure if it was more. You signed up with the maître'd . There were some tables of 4-8 and most of the dining room was booked. Not sure how often it is held. Would do it again.

love the balcony breakfast ...champagne is worth the price of the breakfast in my opinion. Have done this several times and totally enjoyed...we were able to fine tune menu to our liking
-
sorry just checked and it looks like wine makers dinner is only on the regal
-
the ultimate balcony dining is awesome. If you want to be alone this is a good choice. If you want to share evening with others the chef's table is also a consideration...must get on the list as soon as you get on ship.
Another consideration on the Royal is the wine makers dinner.. you can book a table for two.. held in Sabatini....and restaurant is closed to public that night....amazing wine pairings with food
-
should not be a problem...we did not loose our good air price and we actually added a round trip so we did not have to drive to Fort Lauderdale and the price increase was only $100 to add round trip. we also changed rooms twice and it was a TA

If you enjoy wine / or cocktails visit the Vines Bar the Regal and the Royal are full service bars. Alfredo's is awesome. On the lido deck the aft section of the horizon court is an open fully covered area...with tables , bar and lounge area....very nice. Check out the sky walk and the bar. Bellini's has wonderful bubbly drinks.
If you are a foodie ...chef's table or wine tasters dinner.
horizon court buffet is so good.........

where is the 3 day land??

In room service you can order half size bottles of liquor. I enjoyed getting different drinks every time I go to the bar but i was very particular about what I drink, if I always drink Jack and Coke for instance no matter what, it would probably be worth it to buy the half bottle of Jack even at the inflated price and bring my own coke on board. So there is that benefit.

You could also check to see if it is cost effective to just go to BOGO for a dollar and get Jack straight up... and bring back to the room 6/ 8 Jack equal 375 ml bottle??? price difference

20 + cruises and still excited. Now retired we can travel longer and have experienced many new ports of call.
New ports, new experiences and more homework before the cruise. Next cruise is south east Asia...starting the packing process

Great upsell offer! Enjoy

Tracie
Thanks for all the great info.....we leave on March 8th to start our journey ... south east Asia 16 day cruise. We booked princess air. getting more excited..

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments, and sorry about the confusion. We've only had a similar experience once, many years ago, so I wasn't aware of the distinction between upgrade and upsell. As has been surmised, our suite will be an upsell, while G's mini is an upgrade.
Since G's original balcony cabin is now available there might be an additional bit of good news. We've been told the ship is full, so hopefully a couple that was previously wait-listed is now preparing to sail on Wednesday. The Royal Princess, along with her sister Regal Princess, were already our favorite Princess ships. I'm sure this will only strengthen that opinion.
We love the royal ...but regal is our ultimate ship
-
Thank you everyone for the helpful responses. Yes, it is the Crown we'd be sailing on. I think we would love an aft facing balcony, but as someone wrote, we'll more than likely have to choose something cheaper. Whichever we choose, IF we decide on a balcony, I will be really happy. I've always been happy with our inside cabins, so a balcony might just make me ecstatic! LOL.
Once you sail in a balcony you will be so spoiled it will be your cabin of choice or it is for us.
-
.............and this is why we always go one to two days before cruise.......
-
wow ...........I hope not
we just took an upsell to a suite for our cruise leaving in March.....would be so disappointed.
on our last cruise in October our in room robes were better than the waffle robes but not like the suite / ultimate ship tour

if i purchase an all inclusive beverage at $57.45 per day, are they adding automatically a 15% gratuitie on top of that or when i order a drink with my all inclusive card, do they add the 15% on top of that
