I was on the BA in November for Thanksgiving and had the Tomahawk.

I for one am glad its gone. It was obstructing the view from my DOS above!!! I'm just kidding :):):).

They are now $249.

I have booked a beach villa for April cruise on the Jade and are having second thoughts since we are only there from 7am - 1pm. By the time we get out to the cabana it will probably be 9am and we will probably be heading back by 12 noon. I am struggling with spending $475 for 3 hours of use. For those of you that have had the cabana do you really think it was that special???

We were starboard on deck 9 for thanksgiving and had the better views. Only if the ship docks in the same manner each trip. We went in stern first at both ports.

I believe it was 5:30pm until 9pm.

Better yet Newark as it is closer to port and you can take the air train into the city.

This supposedly happened in the Casino, not O'Sheehans.

And on the SKY which has no O'Sheehans.

If this is the NCL Sky as assumed and you look at the deck plans for International Deck 7 there is only one bar in the area and it is the casino bar and there is a set of bathrooms very close by. As others have suggested about other common areas nearby i.e. O'Sheehans there are none on this ship. So if this is the Sky the child and parent knew where they were and should have known this is an adults only area. I would not expect to find a 15 year old in this area.

Not sure what you mean by this. If you order it at the Raw Bar, the pp upcharge is waived, so you would just pay the price of the plateau, which is high I know, but it is less than we recently paid for the same thing in Atlantic City.....

Atlantic city is rip off capital of the east coast. Go to the Jersey shore and you get fresh caught local shellfish. That seafood plateau would only cost about $25.00

On top of that it is $35.00 pp and $70.00 per couple. That is like 3x what i spend at the raw bar at my local 4 star seafood restaurant in NJ.

I loved it!! People only come on here to moan, most people who go and have a happy cruise don't lurk around cruise critic :-)

I was on her for thanksgiving and had a great time and would definitely sail her again. One thing I would not do is go when the weather is cold. I like the heat when I am on vacation and being on a cruise ship and shivering do not go well together. IMHO.

Without going in depth the answer is No.

There have been complaints about service in Tropicana being slower than the other free DR's.

Here is "MY" POV. Yes, mine so take it with a grain of salt. I have been on 35 cruises and almost always sail in suites. I have used the same TA for 15 years and here is why. I get 500-1000 OBC, prepaid gratuities almost always, other tidbits from TA i.e. champagne, free dinners etc. I also use a credit card that gives me 5% back and then accrue miles to use so I fly for free all the time. With that in mind all I really pay for is my cabin as everything else is included or can be paid for with the large OBC's.

yep. La Cucina. Why? Unfortunately, for us the bread was the best part of the meal. We're back to twice a week in Le Bistro with our 2 certificates.

I have 2 for our next cruise and have never used them anywhere else. Always used them on family members cruising with us. Le Bistro wasn't as good as usual on the BA for our thanksgiving cruise and was trying to see if Moderno or La Cucina would take them as I was going to give those places a try. Since they changed the menus I didn't seem to enthused by LeBistro now that the lamb chops and lobster have gone bye bye.

Has anyone used their platinum dining certificate anywhere beside Le Bistro?

I booked a DOS on the Dawn for NYE 2017 and 3rd and 4th are free!!!!!!!!!

Go and get a conch salad right outside the pier from one of the locals. Made fresh right on his small boat. Arawak Cay has good food. Also spent a day at Cable Beach. Very quiet and beautiful clear blue water.

I was just in cabin 9316 on the BA for Thanksgiving and the balcony was awesome. We had the butler bring my family and in laws breakfast from the Haven to our suite balcony every morning and it was very special. The balcony is big enough to fit 30 people out there. Although it is really a great balcony, I did not feel part of the Haven and used it less then we do when we stay directly in the Haven area. Just IMHO. Needless to stay our next 4 cruises will be directly in the Haven as we prefer to have the pool, jacuzzi, courtyard and lounge right outside our cabin door.

FYI this will probably get moved to port of call board.

 

However wasn't rough at all in Oct.

I have done this ride 3x and my wife gets motion sickness and she was always fine. Unless it is very windy I don't think it is that bad. Did it in a 24ft power boat, a sailboat and a cat and it wasn't too bad either way.

We will reach Platinum 6 days in to our 14 day Transatlantic...can we take advantage of any perks?

Im afraid not. Your account is not credited until after your cruise is completed. Unless you are sailing a B2B?, which would then in give you platinum status in the second half of your B2B.

It was closed for renovations when i was there for Thanksgiving.
