In fact, it is highly recommended to go to breakfast and lunch at the mdr since the buffet during the peak hours will be a mad house....
unless you really seek variety during every meal...
also consider buying like a "fast food" tray and storing it in your luggage just so you have the means of carrying food back to whereever you want...thanks
-
sorry for bringing up this post again...but i have only a couple of questions for those who have gone to gsc...
where does the line start for tenders?
when it starts usually (time of day)?
-
folloowing...love to see your MDR menu posts...glad you had a great time...thanks
-
Could someone who has been on the spa on ncl spirit tell me how it is compared to the bigger away ships and those of the jewel kind....thanks so much
-
you can try the wings at osheehans along with beer if you have udp or even the cheesesteak on the embarkation lunch menu as both of these got good reviews
-
Gidget...good to hear that you had a great time...I will be sailing as well on the gem in a month....how would you rank the specialty restaurants...thanks
-
Now only if they include the concierge number...that would be the topping on the cake
-
Following closely as we will likely be on the spirit in the fall...does anyone know if they have any further updating or dry docks for the spirit in the future..thanks
-
What are these two affairs mentioned above in the question? Do they involve a cost? Are they offered on the NCL gem? Where do you sign up? thanks in advance..
-
Thanks so much for the updated menu's...glad to see they have added some more complimentary items even though lobster is less...personally, i think lobster is a little overhyped..
-
Does anyone know if this tour and dinner with officers is even included on the gem?
last i heard they stopped the tours and the dinner was only for platinum plus and ambassadors..thanks
-
Be careful of the guarantee minisuites...at least on the NCL gem, many have said it is not under good locations
-
Lets say in the rare case I do get the concierge as a platinum member, what are the usual requests that one can ask for?Just wondering..thanks
-
I have found universally that the lamb dishes, no matter where, are usually good.

Anoop is great at meeting all your needs....and simply love Roland!

If you are a gold latitude member, how early do I have to stand on line to debark on the earliest tenders to GSC?
I have read its first come, first on but then I have also heard that gold latitude members get priority tender.
Is it better to just book a clamshell to get a better tender than aforementioned ways?
thanks

To the OP...
Just search the NCL forum with the words "food", "menu" or "specialty", I am sure you will come across several recomendations but no more lobsters
Otherwise,
In the buffet, the indian food, the crepes, the prime rib, the smoked salmon (if they have it), bread pudding
In cagneys, any steak is good (Porterhouse, Tomahawk chop, ribeye), baked mushroom soup, crab cake
In Lebistro, try the duck, escargot, coq au vin, lamb, napoleon, chocolate fondue
I could go on and on, but you will find a lot of advise if you search a little...thanks

Anyone from the Gem see a drastic change in the menu...
what are the major differences? thanks

Hi everyone...for those who have sailed on the gem or any othe jewel ncl ship, by how much additional space do you get with an angle balcony as opposed to a midship balcony...?
Also, can you you fit 2 loungers on a midship balcony?
Thanks all

Anyone know what sort of wines are offered at the cheapest rate of 88 dollars/4 bottles or is it some other rate on the viva vino package....I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere
-
Hello...Since I know rest. reservations, clam shells and tenders will be hard to come by, could I book for all three on the Iconcierge app while still in NY port sailing on the gem 5/20...
Also slightly off topic, If you are a gold latitude member, how early do I have to stand on line to debark on the earliest tenders to GSC?
I have read its first come, first on but then I have also heard that gold latitude members get priority tender.
thanks so much

Is the chef's table even offered on the ncl gem or anywhere else...i would love to find out

Hello all...For all recent cruisers of the NCL gem, anyone know the shows they offered in the theater and which day?...Also any posts of recent Gem Dailies would be great? In this way, I can pre-arrange my specialty reservations.
Thanks so much...I'm sailing 5/20...can't wait

OP here...thanks for all your responses..guess I might have to take a tour of the spa on first day to make up my mind

Hi sdil...in response to your query, a 7 day spa cost 139 prior to sailing and 199 on the ship...they have limited passes so make sure you book them early...also helps if you travel during the cool seasons..
osheehans is a 24 hour free restaurant with everything from buffalo wings to fajitas...but the service is slow
