  1. Having done 18 nights on Quantum we are looking forward to boarding Anthem. We will be on her the entire month of April and can't wait and we are older than you are.:)

Base your judgement on what you have actually experienced and not what you have read.

Just remember that a cruise is what "you" make it. I would not cancel.

Thank you for the feedback. My friend and I are going on the cruise.

  2. If the first one hadn't gone through it would not have posted. You need to refresh the page after you have started a thread to see it in the line up.

I did that. I also logged out and logged back in and it still wasn't there. People spend way too much time complaining about others on this thread instead of being helpful. If it bothers you don't read it and don't respond.

  3. Looks like you've made up your mind (seriously, TWO identical threads), so cancel and stay home. You've obviously made up your mind that you will be miserable. I'd be happy to take your place.

I have two threads because the first one never went through so I posted a second time. Most people know that this happens on this site. But thanks for making a big deal about it. 🙄

  4. Final payment on my June saying on the Anthem of the Seas is due on Friday. I am torn between going and canceling. All of the negative reviews the recent events are leaning me towards canceling. We are both 60 and traveling with other friends who also feel the same way. We have booked our dinner and show times already. A vacation is supposed to be relaxing and I really don't want to be spend my day at guest relations trying to fix things.

Can someone please offer some advice.

  5. Can someone please give me the number for RCL Customer Service. I canceled my cruise on the Quantum and I am having a hard time getting my money back for the specialty dining I booked. I have called 15 times trying to get my money back and after finally receiving a refund, they only refunded half of the money. This has got to be the WORST customer service I have every encountered dealing with a cruise line. I will never book another cruise with them.

    :mad::mad:

  6. Can some who is doing the 8 day San Juan/Labadee Itinerary please advise what time the shows are. Everytime someone posts the times here they are differet. We booked all of our dinner reservations in July and now I am wondering if we will have to change them all because of the show time being different. It is ridiculous that you can't book both things at the same time. I am beginning to think booking this ship was a bad idea.

  7. I've updated the Q&A spreadsheet. I believe I caught them all, but please take a quick look and let me know if I missed any questions from anyone.

@Berbet - I believe we're scheduled to leave around 5pm, which will be noon EST.

    Thanks!

    Joanna

It seems that the shows (specifically Mama Mia) is offered at different times on different sailings. pre book by dining times based on the show times that were posted on other roll calls and that now seems to be different. Can you please find out what time the shows are on the 8 day sailings. Thanks in advance.

  8. Unfortunately it's easy to imagine 4000 passengers scrambling to make arrangements, and that may be why Dynamic Dining is causing so much per-launch anxiety. We booked Quantum in March 2013 but were unable to successfully book any dining until two weeks ago - and found "early dining" times unavailable for our February 2015 cruise. Hopefully they have held times back, if not we're off to a bad start . Yes, we've been reading all along about people who already had all reservations made but for whatever reason that option was unavailable for us.

We also have a March cruise booked on Quantum but dining and entertainment reservations were not yet being accepted as of last week. Appearently we have to check back daily to be certain not to miss the window of opportunity. Not the most relaxing way to start a vacation.

We have roughly $450 OBC for the first cruise we plan on using for specialty dining, but to book that now requires prepaying, so we are ultimately double booking. Unless we are the only ones using that logic there should be plenty of reservation times opening up, and plenty of confusion once on board.

We're looking forward to trying Dynamic Dining, but at the moment it sounds suspiciously like trying to book a good restaurant in a resort town. RCI tends to be extremely good on the big details, and equally poor on the small details. The emphasis they're giving to DD is reason for hope!

We booked our dining reservations for our March 2015 Quantum Cruise in July and it was hard to get the times we wanted in the specialty restaurants back then.

  9. This is a cruise that has interesed me for a while. I've been looking at several cruise lines that offer the itinerary but did notice X has a nice 14 day cruise on the Summit next fall, which seems to have limited availability for the stateroom category I want.

For those of you who have done this, can you share you experiences? Good, bad, indifferent? Also, did any of you do any touring in NYC prior or after the cruise? Thank you in advance for your insights.

I did this itinerary this September. The ports were lovely. I went with 10 other couple and we had a nice time. However, the average age on the cruise was about 78 and as a result entertainment and activities were geared to a much older group. I am a very friendly and out going person and did not find people on this cruise to be friendly probably because of the age gap. We were also bored on the 5 seas days since we could not use the outdoor pool and daytime activitied were limited. If you are not 70 or older you might be bored. Also the Summit is an older ship and is showing its age.

  10. I have to say that while most things about Quantum do not excite me, I love this "announcement".

Entertainment like tribute bands is something I really enjoy on cruises (on our recent Celebrity cruise, the piano bar singer did 3 theme shows - Beatles, Billy Joel and Elton John - and they were the highlight of our cruise!).

Finally, something to really look forward to!

Any word regarding whether or not there will be a tribute band on the 3 day sampler cruise on Nov 18?

That was Jordan Peterson on the a Summit and he is an amazing performer. Jut got off the Summit last week. Can't wait to see what's in store on Quantum.

  11. So pleased to see that they did not decide to have the same show on both ships. "We Will Rock You" is a great show, and one I will look forward to on a ship. I know that many cast members of existing shows on board would be great in this show :D

I saw this show in January. It was fabulous. If you are a Queen fan you will love it.

  12. We are Celebrity cruisers. We currently have bookings on both the Reflection and the Quantum of the Seas for next April. I am torn between the 2. We live in NJ so the Quantum means no flying. The Reflection means flying on Easter week.

We have not cruised on Royal in 20 years.

We enjoy Celebrity but the thought of something different is appealing.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  13. Since most, not all of the shows are at 7 & 9 pm, below is the duration time of each show which may help you to make your dining plans. I made all our dinner reservations for 7:30 each night. We're not coffee or dessert people so for us 1 hour for dinner is plenty of time.

Mamma Mia is 2 1/2 hours

    Comedy show is 45 mins

    Guest Entertainer 1, 2 & 3 are all 45 mins

    Sonic Odyssey is 45 mins

I didn't see Starwater listed in the cruise planner to make a reservation on our 1-23-15 sailing.

Thank you so much. Do you know when booking opens up for the shows.
