Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The first reservation agent I spoke to could not do anything to reinstate my booking. The new booking would cost me another $600USD and I would also lose the $100 OBC. He said there's nothing he can do. So I decided to not rebook the cruise and just let it go. However, I didn't think it's fair that they charged the $100 cancellation fee because they're the one who cancelled. So I request to get that back in refund or some sort of future OBC. Technically, final payment was due Dec 25th. Cancellation penalty starts on Dec 26th. If they didn't get my payment, everything should have been cancelled and therefore should have been $0 penalty. So the agent transferred me over to customer service. This customer service lady was very patient and understanding. I simply told her about my situation and ignorance. I didn't want to cancel and would like to pay for the cruise if she could reinstate the booking. If that's not possible and since Princess cancelled my booking, I shouldn't have to pay the penalty fee. I'm fine with future OBC as well in lieu of a refund. She put me on hold for a long time but occasionally checks back to make sure I was there. We even got disconnected at one point and she still called me back. She was very helpful and such a gem. Eventually she came back and was able to offer same price but without the $100 OBC. I was happy to take it. Lesson learned - don't assume the card for deposit will automatically be deducted for final payment.
  2. Ugh, maybe my old brain is not remembering correctly or I've been mainly booking with TA. I just don't recall having to call in for final payment. We'll see if they will reinstate my booking.
  3. I knew final payment was Dec 25th (for March 25th 2023 cruise). I didn't care to call them to pay because they usually just charge the same credit card used for deposit. I've been on 8 princess cruises and 7 cruises with other lines. It was never a problem before. Today I found an email dated Dec 28th that my cruise was cancelled. Plus I was charged $100 for the cancellation. I called Princess 3 hours ago, put my number in line for them to call back and still waiting. In the meantime I talked to Princess Live Chat and they told me I need to call the reservation line (the same line I called initially). So here I am. Has anyone got their cruise booking un-cancelled after final payment not met?
  4. Thanks for all the reply. It is FCD (deposit) that I purchased on board. So I called back and another agent didn't know what was going on. She kept telling me that it's because I put in my contact information wrong, which I did not because I logged in and the invoice has my Captain's Circle's member's number. After talking for a while she finally transferred me to someone who knew exactly what to do. She applied the FCD for the cruise I booked that morning for both me and my husband's. It was just bad luck that I got a few agents that didn't know what they were doing, which made it much harder than it supposed to be.
  5. First time purchased FCC on my Alaska cruise this Aug. Not sure how to apply this to my current booking. I booked a cruise for March 2023 on princess.com today. Even though I see that I have $100 FCC in my account, it still asks me to put a credit card deposit. I paid for it with my credit card. Then I called Princess to ask if they can apply my FCC to the current booking. The "navigator" I spoke to seem to not know how to apply it to my booking. She put me on hold for over 20 mins then got disconnected. Can someone explain how FCC supposed to work as I was not able to get an answer from princess. I even called them earlier before I booked the cruise online but the agent cannot see the same discounted price that I see online. I am Platinum so I suspect I get a bit better price than new princess cruisers. She kept telling me because that price is offered for me only, she could not see it and hence she could not help me book. So I just thanked her and booked the cruise myself online for the discounted price I saw. She told me I should be able to select my FCC when I pay but I didn't see it and she couldn't help with that. So here I am. How do I apply FCC to my current booking? I also heard you have to cancel and rebook but I really don't want to because I don't want to lose the 'kids sail free' promo which ends tomorrow.
  6. I got the 50% off as OBC, refundable. It was added automatically. Discovery Princess.
  7. After Medallion Net purchase, this is the screen I see when I click on Medallion Net (for those wondering what it supposed to look like after purchase)
  8. Since I already purchased (4 devices), I don't see this screen anymore. I see a list of 4 devices and they all said 'not connected'
  9. Yes I already purchased as I have a lot of things to wrap up before vacay and just wanted to check things off my list. I didn't want to miss the pre-cruise price. It does show up on my folio that I paid full price so I'm sure I can easily ask for OBC if it doesn't show OB. I already have a lot of OBC so I would rather pay half price instead of getting more OBC, but not a big deal. There's a lot of other glitches with the Medallion app too. My husband could not add the same credit card that I added to my account. It keeps saying the credit card is invalid. Another person in our group has credit for Specialty Restaurant, he booked CrownGrill with us (we also have free Specialty). All went well and none of us had to pay. Then a few hours later we all couldn't find the booking anywhere. All got cancelled. When we tried to book again, it forced 1 of us to pay. We narrowed it down to him. He called support, they just told him to book when he's on board. Support isn't even trying to help him. Very frustrating. The app is garbage.
  10. Regarding Medallion Net discount for Platinum/Elite: I'm Platinum and will be cruising this weekend. A week ago, I saw the price for Medallion Net was half price (~$70). 2 days ago when I decided to purchase, it's at full price (~$140). Since I'm sailing this weekend I decided to just purchase it and deal with it later. Today I called Princess to ask them about the Platinum discount and why I didn't get it. They said you have to pay full price and the 50% discount is offered as OBC once you get on board. I checked the Captain's Circle's benefit and here's info regarding Medallion Net discount. Check point #8 on page 2 https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/cc/captains-circle-loyalty-benefits.pdf
  11. Hello! Hoping to get some advice on a day in Seattle before heading home after our cruise. We'll be disembarking on Aug 28th with a group of 13 people (2 seniors and a 9 year old). We'll use Port Valet to check our luggage for our international flight. Our flight doesn't leave until 9pm (need to be at airport by 6pm) so we have a lot of time to waste. We want to go to Pike Place Market after disembarking. We plan to take 3 taxis. Where in Pike Place is the best place to tell our taxis to drop us off so we all can meet up easily? Not all of us will have cell phone service (international roaming). Which is better, taking Taxi or Uber to get to Pike Place? After that we want to visit Chinatown, shopping and have dinner there. Is taking bus #14 the best way to get to Chinatown from Pike Place? After dinner we'll head to the airport via the 1-Line. Any advice on our transportation routes is greatly appreciated. Recommendations on sight seeing along the way to the airport are very welcomed as well.
