How much was the North Tour with Beyond the Beach?
-
I am doing 12-4 at Bohio for ceremony, cake, toast and dancing. I have a room for the day as well. It is about $2000 for 50 people.
On the ship they gave me the nightclub. I am doing 1 hour open bar and appetizers and DJ for 2 hours. It is under $900 for 50 guests.
-
I am hosting a 1 hour cocktail party for our group on embarkation night and handing them out then.
-
Thanks for your reply! I didn't know you could have a reception back on the boat! What what the pricing for that if you don't mind me asking?
I also looked into the Bohio resort. I am waiting for them to send me pricing. The resort looks much better than the resort Carnival uses. Are you getting "legally married" in Grand Turk or will it be a symbolic wedding?
It is a symbolic wedding. Tom and Ginny are really awesome at the resort and the pricing is super affordable
On the ship we are calling it a friends and family reception so that they did not send me to the wedding department.
DJ is $100 hr, open bar is $18 per person per hour and appetizers I think are $15 per person per hour. You get a break going 1.5 hours but since we only have the Night Club 5-7 and people will likely want to eat dinner after, we opted for 1 hour of each.

I am doing this November 21st of this year. I booked ceremony, cake, toast and will have 1 hour of dancing etc.
We are then going back to the ship and doing open bar and appetizers for 1 hour and then 1 hour of DJ. It was significantly cheaper doing it that way and I have control of the details.

First of all I want to thank everyone who posts fun times and information for those of us planners. I am getting married on the Conquest Nov 21 of this year on a 6 day Eastern going to Nassau, HMC, Grand Turk and Amber Cove. It is Thanksgiving week and I am sure will be a sold out sailing. We are cruising with 50 people total, many who are newbies.
Does anyone know which nights are Chef Table? I have seen the very recent Fun Times and no mention of the Chef's Table anywhere. With a huge group, I have lots of things planned and wanted to make sure it is not going to conflict. We have a reservation for 14 but no idea what night.
We are all in early seating MDR, group cruisers - do they normally put you all in the same general dining area?
Anything we should not miss while on Conquest or in any of the above ports? I am putting together an itinerary for our guests but would love to give them some other options should they not want to partake in the activities planned.
Thanks all in advance

Like I said the roads are not clearly marked and we had this tiny little map. We ended up at the Bohio Dive Resort. We got out and walked to check it out. The water was going pretty good. There were people swimming at the resort.

This is where I am getting married in November - opinions on resort and grounds? It is so nervewracking since we are going sight unseen

I am getting married on Grand Turk Nov 21st and reception on the Conquest. We have about 50 people cruising with us and I have started making swag bags. I got an amazing deal on koozies, plastic cups and bags from totallypromotional.com
I got 25 custom printed bags, 100 double sided stadium cups, 50 double sided koozies and koozies for the wedding party for $165
I will add our thank you and welcome brochure, some fun nautical jewelry, snacks and our thank you gift along with the cups and koozies to the bags.

You both have email! :D
I would love one too.......

How big is your group? I am doing a 1.5 hour reception with open bar and appetizers for 50 people onboard and it was actually quite affordable. I don't want the hassle of coordinating anything with a large group.
-
I am getting married at the Bohio Dive Resort on Grand Turk this November. It was the only port we do not tender into other than Amber Cove. I did not want a wedding on the ship, but I am having my "reception" on the ship which is 1.5 hours open bar and hors d'ouvres and a DJ. It is much more reasonable and you do not pay until you are onboard. You cannot tell them it is a "wedding reception" because they will want to send you to that department. I called it a friends and family reception lol.

This sailing is awesome actually. You can get tax free, $100 OBC plus the extra latitude point for $2274 double occ. in a Balcony Guarantee with Specialty Dining and Unlimited Drinks. The Past guest perk is the Latitudes Insider offer and is combinable with free at sea on all sailing categories besides sail away. I would book it! The extra Latitudes point shows up as LATITUDE on the confirmation.

My same cruise cabin was $3936 with that offer and I paid $2450 - granted I do not have specialty dining or the prepaid gratuities - but I have everything else they are offering

I am flying to San Juan for our honeymoon cruise. Living in Florida I have never had to fly to a port so I have silly questions.
When do you usually purchase your airfare?
Can you fly with bottles of wine?
Do you hail a taxi to take you to port or pre-arrange transfer?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Also just off the Conquest, only breakfast at the buffet. They have seemed to switch to real scrambled eggs, no powdered crap. The MDR was hit or miss. The Chef's Table was spectacular. We ate 3 times in the Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris or Morton's quality apps and soups all were excellent. Personally do not like pressed, well done, crumbly burgers with no flavor. I had a 1/2 lb ground chuck/brisket burger, MR at our Miami Hotel. Pizza was pretty good, but only one guy making and baking. He tried hard but the lines were sometimes long. The new deli is very disorganized and the pre made sandwiches get a fail. They should not be forcing condiments on people. Mustard does not belong on Turkey, tomato puree does not belong on Pastrami. The new Cuban Sandwich was very good, but removing the panini presses was a bad idea. The new meatball sandwich was good, but served with Feta, seriously? I guy in front of me asked for no cheese he said no and the guy walked away. I insisted as I am lactose intolerant and he made me one. Mexican was good too.
Did Chef's Table have the new menu? Also do you remember which night it was?

If you have the Fun times could you tell me which nights they did the Chef's Table?

Thanks everyone for your input! I went ahead and switched to the Getaway. I just think there are more activities for us to do together on that ship. I'll just have to make the drive to Orlando from Miami afterwards.
I'll probably just buy one way tickets to Fort Lauderdale and then one way tickets back from MCO. I'll figure out how to make it work!

You will not be disappointed in Getaway. We have sailed both Epic and Getaway with the kids and Getaway wins hands down for them (ages 7-18 at time of sailing)

You can carry on 2 bottles of wine, so that would be your best option that way it is something you enjoy.

Congrats! We are sailing Dawn in December for our honeymoon! Let me know your thoughts when you return :-)

If you are going to Cozumel, we had awesome massages on the beach at Mr. Sanchos for like $35
Costa Maya is basically a shopping port. Your best bet would be to do an excursion.

I guess it depends on how full the ship is. We did a 8 day Sunshine Southern last year in April and booked a Spa Cabin so we could be close to Serenity. It was packed by the time we got up (8:30 am) and we never found a spot on the deck and definitely not in the pool. It was pretty though :-)
-
You will get the spa amenities, but Sunshine has a limited spa area. We toured it but never used it.
We stayed in a Spa Room and loved it for the decor, inside amenities and the proximity to Serenity. $44 is worth it just for that.
-
On Getaway twice and have eaten at all the specialties. I would suggest Cagney's and LeBistro for an anniversary dinner. Let them know and they will find you a cozy table :-)
Moderno is delicious but definitely not romantic and you will end up with the meat sweats! Not sexy for an anniversary dinner

Just realized that Day 3 (Amber Cove) for some reason did not make it. Here it is:
Joe you are the best! Many thanks, this is very very helpful :-)
How far out are Shore Excursions offered?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We are going on our honeymoon on Dawn 10 day Southern in December and only see 11 shore excursions and most have 1 star reviews.
We have the $50 per port credit but I also want to book private if there is not anything that is worth our while. When should I expect to see the bulk of the excursions pop up?
