Been a band parent for 9 years with 5 kids and it seems to rule over most every vacation decision we make. We wanted to do a January cruise in2017 for xmas and because our last 2 are seniors this year my wife said there would be no option keeping them out of school for any time this school year. We have opted for our own cruise and they will stay home.

Booked Vista for Jan. 2017 and we find out later after booking that they do not have the THALASSOTHERAPY POOl like the Breeze. We booked a Spa interior cabin because this ship doesn't have the whirlpools on deck 5 like the Breeze. And now they don't have the THALASSOTHERAPY POOL. I'm sure we will enjoy our cruise but we may have to hit the Havana pool area for the whirlpools. Just is now on the other end of the ship since we are on deck 11 forward. Great review. Love everyone that you have done. My wife has a chicken hat just like yours from a Halloween costume from years past. She was a haystack.

This group were on the Breeze last year and were amazing. I was surprised that they didn't have a CD at that time. Did they play all over the ship? Like during dinner in the dining room?

 

 

 

The amazing Atrium had lots of entertainment every night, one of my favorites is this Violinist Trio "Essencia" who were fantastic

I remember people bitching that there wasn't anything special for the inaugural voyage. Now we know they were mistaken. Very nice gift.

I watched the video again of the 3D animated Virtual Tour of the Vista and it looks like the Red Frog Pub has outside seating in one overhang. Also the Cherry on Top store looks like they might also have out side seating in one of these locations. I will miss their hot tubs on this deck if they truly don't have them here like they do on the Breeze, Magic and Dream.

We used the Social Media Package to IM and video call thru Facebook messenger on the Breeze last November. Was kind of choppy but the kids at home thought it was cool.

We were on the Breeze last November and Greg in the piano bar was great. I didn't get off the ship one day because we closed the place down the night before.

Ryan. I can't believe I missed your review. What a great one! We also could smell "The Smell" on deck 2 but not in the cove balcony room. We had so much fun with you two! See you on another cruise!!!

We were on the Breeze also that returned Nov. 7th and it worked fine all week for us. We used it to do a video call thru IMessage a couple of times and it was very choppy but fun to chat with the kids back home.

Not simply because I live 30 minutes away, but it's so easy to get in and out of. I have sailed 8 times from the port and it's always been a breeze. Try New Orleans if you want to see what kind of issues are possible getting into and out of a cruise port.

I totally agree. Mobile was awesome when we went on the Elation for a Fort Walton Beach Band Trip. We had so much fun. And so much easier than New Orleans.

I actually did and my PVP said that Carnival just gives them a random list of people to call all the time. But my husband is always asking that because he is a Gold member, had done several cruises before we were married, and he never gets a call or even an email with any offers. He laughs that Im a newbie yet I always get calls for upgrades and different offers all the time.

I find that my wife is always the one that gets all the mailing and phone calls. And I'm the one that makes the reservations and all the planning.

What's up with that???

We have been on both. Elation with kids wasn't bad but we loved the Dream. Elation is great for price but Dream has deck 5 with the hot tubs and lounge chairs that get you away from the crowd that's on the Ledo deck.

Carnival finally opened up the Breeze past April 2015 and just booked an 8 day cove balcony and my wife would like to see the route map that Carnival used to put on there web site when you booked. Anyone know where I can find one. we are on the 8 day leaving Nov. 7th 2015 going to St. Maarten, Antigua ,St. Thomas, USVI ,Nassau, the Bahamas

We have done the same with a Disney trip. Now every time we get them all in the car and say we are running some errands they look in the back for luggage. Have fun!!!

Never had this happen before but my wife and I came back from dinner one night to freshen up before a night of dancing and her feet were so bad I made her stay in the room the rest of the night. Finally got better after a couple of days.

We have always used cash and never been asked for a credit card. Also, you can use the kiosk to put cash on your account and never have to go to guest services. Also, you have until a certain time the first evening to add money. I believe it was 10 pm. So, we boarded and were able to get DOD's, etc. I didn't add cash at the kiosk until after dinner and had no problems.

I love the kiosk. Nice way to access your account if you are not on a ship that has the info on your room tv.

On the Dream in 2012 my wife and I were on deck 5 with the hot tubs along the edge of the ship just lounging when we here a lot of noise coming from one of the balconies 2 floors above us. I look and some one is joining the balcony club. Luckily for us it didn't last too long.
