Yes! I didn't know any better when I booked our first (and only) guarantee. During the booking process, they allowed me to choose a location so I picked aft, where we always sail. I assumed we would be assigned an aft cabin. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We were assigned a cabin 5 cabins from the front of the ship. It was awful, but now I'm informed how that process works and will never ever book a guarantee again 🤣

Our first cruise was on Princess Grand in January, 2002. We tried to cancel, as final payment was due around the time of 9-11. I wasn't comfortable flying, let alone getting on a cruise ship. Princess came back with an offer we couldn't refuse, so I sucked it up. That cruise has been one of our best ones, many cruises later. We had the best cruise director we've ever had, and the awe of seeing that ship for the first time is a sight I'll never forget. We (ok, my husband 🙄) were hesitant to book a 7 night cruise for our first cruise in case we (he) didn't like it. I knew I would love it. Princess upgraded our cabin, and we've never looked back. Where in MO? We're in KC.
