  1. Thank you Scott! I just booked the Wyndham last week....I read some poor reviews & am now skeptical of staying there. I appreciate knowing about the other 3 hotels & will definitely rebook. We've never been to San Diego.....

  2. Club Royale has the absolute WORST customer service! I've had similar experiences with them. Not worth the aggravation. If I do decide to use the casino again, I just won't apply my seapass for the credit....

My only advice is to call back & ask to have a supervisor return your call.

  3. I booked on 3/7. I always use insure my trip but wanted to add for 2 reservations that are cruising with us. The Royal Caribbean agent asked “are they in NY too”? & explained that they can no longer book insurance directly for N.Y. residents. She explained that it is only since 2/2019. She directed me to the website. No I didn’t get that in writing because it was no big deal.

You don't pay for cruisecare separate from the cruise. It is added to your bill like tips and you pay the balance when due. Cruisecare does not offer pre existing coverage (one of the reasons it's not the best),

so there is no need to pay for it at time of booking

Unless you live in New York state. As of February 2019, Royal Caribbean is no longer allowed to add cruisecare insurance but gives you the website to do it on your own...….

  5. Homewood Suites in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA is an option, as is the Embassy Suites MIA.

Better yet, tell them to get their own room and stay downtown where you'll find lots of dining and nightlife options.

Is the Blue Lagoon a nice area? Looking at a great rate for the Hilton Blue Lagoon & sailing out of Miami, arriving via FLL.

  6. Can anyone tell me if this is a nice hotel? Is it in a good location? The reviews seem favorable but wondering if I should cancel our reservation at the Courtyard Marriott/Downtown Brickell area & book here......

Thank You for your opinions on this hotel :)

  7. I was there. We were on that cruise which was the worst time I have ever had on a Princess cruise.

They made a final determination and we got the phone call last night that they would not do anything for the 3500 people that got there vacations ruined. No reimbursement, nothing. They gave everyone a $150 credit to be used against your shipboard account. Period.

    WOW!! Just WOW!

  8. I would not be so sure of that. I'd get it in writing from the underwriter first. I can easily see where you could, not necessarily would, but could lose the NRD.

I'm not sure that's why I said "my guess". Trip insurance purchased from other than the cruise line will cover nonrefundable deposits. Our friends had to cancel their cruise one day prior due to illness. They got every dime back for the cruise, hotel & flight!

  9. Many thanks for the info. Have read here on Cruise Critic some taxi drivers try to overcharge in Fort Lauderdale, so having an idea will help. Thanks again.

Yes! This is true! Some drivers try to charge a "flat rate". There are signs posted that state that all fares are metered. I take a photo of the sign while waiting for the taxi & when this happens I hand the metered fare charge to the driver & no tip. I have the picture in hand & remind the driver that it would be metered fares only. Make a mental note of the drivers name if you are inclined to report the incident. (should clarify that I'm referring to ship to FLL)

  10. We were asked on Anthem in October to display our cards in the Diamond Lounge for status verification. The first night it appeared that several guests were not entitled to be in the lounge. Nobody was personally singled out but a general statement was given & there were more seats available on subsequent nights. Cards were still checked nightly.
