We will be driving to Bayonne from the Bronx and we're hoping to get on the ship early, however our appointment window is 12-12:30. Do we get corralled into this boarding group? Or could we go earlier? If so, what's a good time to plan to arrive if we are parking at the port garage?

We love Royal for the same reasons, as well. Tried NCL for the first time last summer. Have sailed on Breakaway and Getaway. They are great ships, but don't have that "Royal" feel. I also feel that NCL is lacking on the pool space. Their exclusive Haven takes up precious pool space. Looking forward to checking out Anthem's pools next week!

Why when I sign into my reservation on the website does it say that I have 44 dining reservations, but have only made 2 (1 for each of us) per night which would be a total of 18. Are we to expect that our dining reservations on board are going to be a disaster like other people have noted on the boards?

Love your post. We will be on the 9-nt June 30. Upset to hear about your experience in the solarium. We love the solarium on the Oasis class ships, and were hoping that this would be similar. I could see how an enclosed area could get too hot. On Radiance class ships the enclosed area is air conditioned. Is this not the case on Anthem?

Double check your Crown and Anchor Profile. If you've selected "automatic upgrade" they can assign you an upgrade regardless of location. Most people don't realize that they can select not to receive an upgrade in certain circumstances. Call them and ask what can be done, but realize you might be stuck with your upgrade.

Have been keeping an eye on an upcoming sailing on Anthem of the Seas. Noticed there was one DO stateroom available, but also the GTY. The day I jumped and bought in with the X GTY there were no more balconies in the inventory. It's been like this a few days now and no assignment. Has anyone had this before? I'm thinking maybe they upgrade D+ or Pinnacle and then slip us in somewhere? Or maybe they're shrouding available inventory to get suckers like me to book? Curious on thoughts/experiences out there.

Less worried about me, more worried about a few new cruisers in our party. My mom and my brother are both going and are new to ships, ocean, etc. I hope they don't get sick!!

New to cruising out of New York - of course they're forecasting a storm sunday into monday.

Should I be worried?

Sailing with a group of 12 this weekend on Breakaway. Need tips, experiences regarding reservations with this many people. We would love to do Teppanyaki one night but other nights the general dining rooms. Has anyone had experience trying/succeeding/failing at doing this?

Also, how does the tender ticketing work with the app? How early can you reserve these tickets? I'm assuming everyone has to do their own?

Only Giovanni's for breakfast, and it was lovely. Ask to sit at the sofas. Amazing staff and very comfy, quiet atmosphere.

Just off Adventure and watched you sail away from the Sheraton Casino Hotel. Stop by the champagne bar. The trio there, Virginia, Didiere and Riza are just phenomenal. Tell them Jerrod & Nick say hello. We miss them already. Have a great time! We had a blast!!

Need advice. Would you take 9622 on the hump or the aft 1690? 1690 is listed obstructed view because of the superstructure. How bad is this? Does anyone have any pics of 1690 on adventure?

Just boarded Adventure of the Seas. All I have to say is this whole group of people just kills me. "Check-in is a nightmare," "the ship is tired," "the staff is grumpy," "bar staff is slow," blah blah blah.

We arrived at the pier at 12:15. Found the platinum and above bag drop all the way to the left as indicated on these boards - great tip! And we're on the ship at 12:45.

I've officially learned to never take people's reviews on this site seriously. The ship looks great! The staff is super friendly! We've been served instantly multiple times already and with many smiles. I'm so excited for a wonderful week.

Give me a break! Sail Adventure. If you're miserable stay on shore and leave the fabulous vacations for those of us who appreciate it. Have a great time. Enjoy life!!!

Sailing on Adventure this weekend. Wanted to get a new cologne but figured I'd get it tax free? I have a $100 OBC but wanted to get opinions, should I purchase on board, or would it be cheaper in our first port of St. Croix?

Did you guys check out the nightclub on the ship at all? How was it

I've cruised many Royal cruises, a few Celebrity and recently a few NCL. Absolutely loved Serenade from Puerto Rico. Sailed her twice and loved both trips. Radiance class was nice. Classic. There's something special about leaving from San Juan in February and knowing you're going deep south to escape a New York winter. I also find those southern islands charming. We sailed Oasis last year in February and there was a cold front in Cozumel. Cold and windy! Happy to be returning to my first ship, Adventure, next week!

Don't let embarkation worry you too much. I boarded on Jan 16 and it was one of the smoothest experiences I've had in all my cruises.

Always love the lamb shank and the duck dish. Something I look forward to every Royal cruise. They are carry over dishes after the last menu overhaul. Have been enjoying them since my first cruise in 2008.

Just back from b2b cruises on the Adventure out of San Juan and found that the "meatloaf" offering at the Windjammer carving station is a new low for RCCL. Roast Beef was offered day 1 only of each week but then the choices varied from lamb, corned beef, jerk pork and turkey loaf.

OP can you confirm what TIME of day this was? I'm so curious if this were a lunch option or a dinner option?
