  1. I’m been signing onto the bidding process for a number of months for my September 2, Alaska cruise.

I’m aware that you can be contacted by Princess but when I try to sign on I’m still not allowed to place a bid.

The bidding process is challenging, as my travel agent has not been able to figure it out either.

    Thanks for everyone’s posting.

I've pretty much always enjoyed the production shows on Princess and look forward to seeing some on my upcoming fall cruise.  The APP shows we will have 4 on our 12 night Regal cruise.  I'm not sure if we will get to all 4, so does anyone have specific preferences/recommendations on the following shows:

    Bravo

Sweet Soul Music (I do remember that I enjoyed seeing this one on Emerald in 2023)

    Fiera

    Born to Dance

I’m curious as to why you wouldn’t go to all 4?  I always go to all of them & love them all.

  3. I’ve done the Chef’s table many times with a group from Cruise Critic. I advertise to people on my cruise about the Chef’s table, it’s for 12 people, & I start a list. When I’m first onboard I turn in my list with everyone’s name & stateroom numbers. My group has always been excepted & contacted with the meeting details. The price depends on what ship we’re on. In 38 cruises Ive never seen a fleet wide price as it depends on the ship.

I’ve plenty of photos if people would like me to post them. Just let me know.

This one has me baffled. My apologiies if I missed something here, but I have been watching the Majestic mini-suites for October of this year. There are very few cabins showing up, but, since I only need one, I have been keeping an eye out.  Most of the time decks lower than 15 are either sold out or "we will pick for you". Every now and then, a cabin will appear -- likely a cancellation.

I am SURE that decks 10 thru 14 were in that category. Suddenly only decks 11 to 14 were sold out.  Where has deck 10 gone?. It's not sold out, it just is not there at all.   For clarification, I am watching the mid-ship "bump out" but not watching the "Reserve class" cabins.. 🤪

Here’s part of a screen shot on the Caribe, deck 10, on the Majestic. The deck did not disappear. I’ve stayed on that deck before on the Majestic before.

The highlighted area are the mini  suites.

if you use this app… you’ll see that deck.

Hi Tom. I bid on a suite, the basic suite. I am travelling with a couple of siblings so a little more space would be good. Bidding up to that from a mini suite. Hoping for priority boarding and a bigger balcony if possible. If it doesn't happen before then, I may inquire onboard or just stay with the mini suite. Hopefully the mini suite will accommodate the three of us comfortably. I usually book an inside or ocean view for myself but sharing the cabin with a couple of other people made me concerned about space.

Thanks for your information. WOW…A Mini Suite sounds like a great idea.

This will be my 38th Cruise with Princess.

Right now the Princess site only shows Ocean View available.

We paid in full at the end of February for our cruise in August. Received an invitation to bid for an upgrade early June. By the time I saw it the next day and went to bid the offer was rescinded.

Last week I received an email offering another chance to bid for an upgrade. This time I put in a promising bid. The bid was acknowledged by Princess, but not yet accepted. We cruise in about 20 days now, still haven't yet heard if bid was accepted yet. I read that it can happen just before the cruise or even at the terminal. Nothing to do but wait at this point.

My other option, which I’ve done before, is to go to the PSD desk ASAP, when I board & see if they have any options.

What are you bidding from & to?  I want to go from an Ocean View to a Balcony.

Thanks for your response. Yes you can get an offer anytime.

  7. I think that it’s a glitch with the Princess as my travel agent handles all of my booking & this is the 1st time I’ve seen this message. I’ve called Princess but whoever answers the phone is unable to help.

My 11 day Alaska Cruise is 56 days aways.

    I’ll just keep trying.

My TA is unavailable right now and I am interested in booking a Mexican Riviera cruise.  The price is right and the current sale offers $100pp on an inside cabin. Ive never booked a Princess cruise online so not sure what the rules are on transferring the booking to her upon her return.   I also want to use our FCD for the deposit which also gives us additional onboard credit.

If I'm successful in booking myself without using a princess rep, can I transfer the booking directly to my TA and not lose either the pricing, cabin or my OBC or does she have to re-book it to transfer it to her?

I book all of my cruises by myself as I can pick what type of stateroom that I want & the location. Once I have my booking number I contact my agent with my booking number & have them transfer it over. I’ve never had to fill out any papers or send anything to my agent other that emailing them with my booking number.

  9. Does anyone know if there is a certain time frame when you can use the bidding link to upgrade your stateroom, Bid for a Stateroom Upgrade?

I keep getting the message “This reservation is not eligible for Princess Upgrade at this time”.

My cruise is September 2, 2024 on the Crown Princess to Alaska.

  10. I’m on an Alaskan Cruise on the Crown Princess. How can I book the Sanctuary in advance?  I don’t see the option on my booking.

    Thanks!

I just received an email stating that Princess Cruiseline pricing will be all inclusive as of July 1st.  Thoughts?

I think that’s a great idea, long overdue.

I’ll involved in a Senior Center in San Francisco & had planned a brunch cruise, listed at $90, but when I went to book for 15 people their was over $500 in extra fees & we said NO THANKS!

I also buy baseball tickets online & the listed price does not show the total price with fees added.

  12. Here’s a suggestion that’s not been suggested. Once you’ve on the ship ask about what an upgrade would cost?  That way you could stay where you are or take the upgrade if it’s a good deal.

I agree with the suggestion of a Sideways Stateroom. They are great,  plus they are a little larger. The one downside, as previously mentioned, is the bed is right there when you enter.

Having the TV on the Bridge camera is great no matter what kind of stateroom your in.

  13. These are some valid points that need to be discussed with Princess. Would people be willing to join a Zoom meeting with some of the Princess Executives if a meeting could be arranged to discuss these issues?

I'm going to be on a cruise with someone who might be able to assist in who to contact at Princess.

Another suggestion, which I do often, is to make a screen shot of the page with the information, so that Princess couldn't later deny it later.

Most suites are booked, especially the lower Vista class suite. I bidded on an Owners suite. Didn't hear anything until the day b4 the cruise. Then I got a declined email but I knew my chances were slim. You never know, but don't assume anything just bc you haven't been declined yet. Good luck!

Interesting. I have a bid to go from a balcony to a Mini Suite, on the Discovery Princess. It’s a sold out cruise, but my agent says Princess holds some staterooms back. My cruise is April 3rd, a 10 day Solar Eclipse cruise, so we’ll see what happens. I’m aware that I may hear something 1 or 2 days before the cruise. I’m at San Pedro 1 day before the cruise so if necessary I can print out new luggage tags at the hotel. Since I’ve never had a Mini Suite, fingers crossed 🤞

I'm not a fan of something that clips on. We bought some that turned it basically into a watch.

I'd rather have it on my wrist.

I agree.  On the wrist is my choice as it’s always there.

our ritual is to eat lunch on land to avoid the early crowds and go to the terminal around 2:00 when we can just waltz on the ship

I get there real early, well before the boarding has started, & I’m usually in the 1st group let into the terminal, & since I’m elite, in the 1st group to board. Perhaps I’ve been lucky but I’ve never been in a long line to get into the terminal or onto the ship.

Lunch in the MDR is nice to relax with a nice drink, & meeting new people.

Just my experiences but I been outside on deck later, & sometimes seen very long lines, so I felt great by arriving early.

The bidding system still has the outdated name. So when I placed my bids they were called Class Class and my notification email said my new stateroom category is Club Class Mini-suite but that means Reserve.

    Thank you very much.

I’m on the April 3, Solar Eclipse cruise, & when I just checked, the highest category for bidding is for the Mini-Suite.
