DJ, you might be on to something there.:D:D
Just saying
-
I am wondering if the matching outfits might replace SD sleepwear:D

Wishing you all fair winds and following seas!

Looking forward to try SeaDream I in Nov, having mostly cruised Regent. Is there a way to find out if there is a large group booking on this cruise? Also, getting conflicting info about need for jackets in the formal dining room - YouTube video by managing director Magowan said 'no dress code, what I'm wearing is fine' - a blue blazer and shirt, no tie....
Info from SD cruisers appreciated :)
Looking forward to chill at White Bay BVI!
Welcome to our little corner of CC popper!
You can call the Miami office to find out if there any large groups on your sailing.
As Jim and abenaki has advised you will be fine without a blazer in the dining room. My DH (DJ's DH) takes his blazer and wears it maybe once on the voyage. He mostly wears Tommy Bahama type collared shirts in the dining room and polo/golf shirts on deck.
Hope that helps!

How about NCL buying Oceania and Regent? Sounds a lot like the airlines recent history. SeaDream will be one of the few independent lines left. I believe SD will inevitably be gobbled up by someone. Who do you see acquiring SeaDream?
DJ's DH and I were just talking about the NCL acquisition.
I hope that SD can stay independent instead of being swallowed by a conglomerate.
My WAG is Silverseas ...

Sounds wonderful vandrefalk! Loved the FB photo of you, DH and whatnot enjoying the market.
Glad to hear everyone is enjoying the cruise and the weather is cooperating!

Just received an email from SD with some very good fares for November Caribbean. Unfortunately we are booked elsewhere or would jump. One as low as $1,799 p/p!:D
Wow ... I didn't receive the email. That's a great deal!

Have not broken anything yet!! Cruise is lovely and weather is starting to warm up
. My St Michel was great but a big climb! Belle Isle was cute -- we managed a trip to a lovely hotel for oysters and wine. Tomorrow is La Richelle. More details when I can get to the computer as I 'm doing this from the IPhone.
Vandrefalk
Sorry for the typos!
I hope you knocked on wood after posting this:p
Thanks so much for checking in!

I have made several crossings after dry docks. No issues whatsoever. These started immediately after completion of the dry dock and there were no delays. One time I got to Lisbon a couple of days early and while sight seeing saw SD II out of the water (at least I think it was Lisbon! If someone else on that voyage remembers it differently, please correct me)
FT
We were on the post dry dock crossing with FT from Lisbon. We missed seeing SD2 out of the water but the dry dock had no impact on cruise.

Hope your back is on the mend JES!
Thank you for your compare/contrast review of SS/SD.

Bon voyage JES!
Thanks for checking in. Looking forward to your review:cool:

Thanks again FT and zqvol for taking us along on your cruise:cool:
Glad you are home safe and sound and that your luggage has found its way home as well.

Leaving tomorrow for our first SeaDream cruise aboard SeaDream II! Spending a week in Italy before we board.

What a great itinerary!
Bon voyage and enjoy!

We are looking forward to boarding SD1 again in Barbados. However, yes it is a long flight(s) down there from Reno, our new home. Two days. We are overnighting in MIA both ways. But we are looking forward to boarding and seeing friends again...it's been way too long! Can't wait!!:D
So glad to see you have a SD cruise booked! Wish we were sailing with you!
We have Tahiti on our bucket list as well but we live in NY now so the travel would be the reverse of your situation Ragnar:o
I have been to Hawaii and I think that the southern Carribean, with its volcanic islands and lush rain forests and deep blue sapphire waters, looks a lot like Hawaii.
Will be interested in your decision Ragnar!

Wow zqvol ... Hope FT got her iPad back!

Thanks for taking us along our cruise! Looking forward to your summary:D

Looking forward to the reports and photos of cruising the Inside Passage!

DJ's DH and I have sailed in the southern Caribbean as well so I know what vandrefalk means in terms of the water and fauna. I suspect that the water is a "deeper" blue because they aren't as many reefs and shallows as there are in the Eastern Caribbean. Just a WAG on my end.
Can't wait for your thread vandrefalk:D

So appreciate the reports!

Darlings and Dears,
You are all getting yourselves in such a tizz over this "Family Cruise" thingame.
Ho hum has spoken to the gorgeous Lady A who informs ho hum tha it is essentially some scam to get business.
BL has told them too.
Ho hum has been investigating too.
It is a nonsense.
Book away !
And have no fear.
Ho hum
PS
Ho hum hopes you are checking on Jim from time to time
Knew that we could count on you to set the record straight!

Thanks so much for a thorough report:cool:

Ho-hum must be more than a little distracted by the vote in Scotland .... either that or Italy has been turned upside down by the thought of the UK breaking up:p:eek::D
Please give Chef Tomasz our best regards. We sailed with him on his first voyage as Chef more than a few moons ago.
Wishing the ctbjrs' as well as gantcc and company safe travel as they wing their way to meet all those lucky to be on the upcoming voyage.
