always suspicious when I see——-“ up to $”.

for my current booking 12 day I have the Plus package worth $600 pp with gratuities, tips for drinks, extra wifi I am ok with that

never received the up to $600 OBC. But my cruise has gone up a lot since I booked

I just checked on the Princess web site and found that my cruise has increased by $969 since I booked. This is for the same type of room in the same area.

Just wanted to give notice about the Crown Princess. She will be going into Dry Dock 12 October through 29 October 2020. All her aches and pains are supposed to be addressed and repaired. Hopefully the engine / generator problems will be rectified so not to miss anymore ports and she will sail up to normal speed.

I think these were the plans before the Covid 19 pandemic hit. I can’t find any information about what actually took place. The pandemic was getting bad through October and is only getting worse ever since. I have a feeling that the dry dock has been postponed indefinitely, but I can’t find any new information.

  3. This past winter there was lots of information about the Crown Princess having propulsion problems. There was talk about a fix coming during a scheduled (wet or dry) dock. Then the pandemic hit and I’ve read nothing further about this problem being fixed. Has anyone heard about updates on this problem?

  4. For the first time in years we weren’t booked on a cruise this past February or March because we were moving into our new home. That turned out to be lucky!

We do have a cruise booked for February 2021 that we booked last September. I doubt that we will be taking it because of the virus. If we don’t take it the extra money will come in handy for all of the unexpected expenses from the move.

  5. This is truly a sad situation. My DW and I love cruising and we have been on 31 cruises. Right now we have a cruise booked for February, but it was booked before we heard anything about the pandemic. We haven’t cancelled yet but final payment is late November and I doubt that we will keep the cruise. We are both in our 70’s and we have medical conditions that would put us at risk. I sadly had resigned myself to the fact that cruising is probably over for us. ☹️

I was able to complete my EZ Air booking yesterday - I did have to constantly refresh the page but it finally went all the way through. The flights is showing on the booking and in personalizer but I still haven't received an email confirmation. Since this usually comes immediately after booking, I am thinking that maybe it didn't complete correctly.

Thank you for the tip about refreshing (reloading) the page. It worked for me and I now have a lower air fare.

  7. I have also been having problems with the Princess website.

I am trying to rebook my EZair at the new lower price. I get to the return flight and try to click on the select button, but everything is frozen. This has been happening for the past six hours. I’ve tried on two different computers and I get the same result.

  8. I booked our Feb 2021 cruise about 6 months ago on the “3 For Free” sale. The current price for the same room is now $125 less than what we booked. This current price does not have the extras we get from the sale. 1) Pre-paid gratuities $203, Promotion Credit $100 and Free specialty dining $29.

So the current price is about $200 more per person.

  9. I’m very glad that my next cruise isn’t until Feb. 21, 2021. I booked it about 6 months ago and now with the uncertainty of the Corona virus I have lots of time to see what happens and make any cruise decisions. I surely hope this disease burns it’s self out in the warmer summer weather like the seasonal flu. I feel sorry for all of you who are scheduled on cruises in the near future and have to make tough decisions.

  10. I never take out insurance through Princess. I always use a different insurance company.

A few years ago I talked to a Princess Rep. and asked if pre-existing conditions were covered. The answer was that they would determine that at the time a claim is put in. They don’t have a written policy for pre-existing conditions.

Yes, I know about the Cancel for Any Reason insurance, but I would not necessarily want cruise credit.

There are better insurance companies than Princess.

Why would anyone play those odds or for that matter play with a 7 deck auto shuffling machine?

Exactly! I quit playing several years ago when they introduced the auto shuffling machine.

I believe the blackjack table minimums are now $6 and $10.  Unlike land based 3 to 2 payout, I believe the payout is 6 to 5.

Famski740 is correct. The tables with the lower bet amounts pay out 6 to 5 for blackjack instead of the traditional 3 to 2. That is a deal breaker and those tables should be avoided.

We will be on the Crown and I can't remember if there are irons in the cabins?!

Also we purchase Princess insurance, do you print out the whole policy to take with you? (It seems like such a waste of paper). Or is it in your information on your medallion?

    thanks Kaye

No irons in cabins, but they are in the laundromats

  14. This sounds a lot like the problem the Caribbean Princess had on my March 2018 cruise. Due to a generator problem we missed one port and had time changes at a few other ports. This was NOT an easy fix. The ship sailed for more than a year with this problem until they could get the needed parts and schedule a dry dock. The Crown is scheduled for a dry (wet?) dock in October 2020. This has been scheduled for quite a while so I don’t know if it will address this new problem. I am booked on the Crown in Feb 2021. This is a long time from now but I’m still concerned that it may not be fixed by then. Only time will tell.

  15. When you contact the Princess Representative for setting up a location for the Meet & Greet you can request that a bar tender is available for the group. Make sure you request a “Cash” or “No Host” bar. If you don’t they may try to set it up with you being the host who will pay for all of the drinks. This happened to me the first time I set one up. After boarding I found a note in my room stating that I was the host for the bar. It took a while for me to get this straightened out before the meeting.

  16. This seems like a little bit of deja vu to me. I am going on the Crown Princess in Feb 2021. This is a long way off but in March of 2018 I was on the Caribbean Princess. The ship had a propulsion issue that lasted for many, many months. It affected my cruise and I can’t remember how long it took to get to a dry dock of fix it but it seems to me like it was much more than a year. The Crown is scheduled for a dry dock in October 2020, but if this is a new problem there may not be time to fix this issue at the scheduled dry dock.

  17. I always leave plenty of extra time when on a private excursion.

A couple of years ago a group of us took a 3 hour local taxi tour on Barbados. Shortly after we left our last stop, at Bath Sheba, the taxi broke down. It took about 40 minutes for a different taxi to arrive and take us back to the ship. We didn’t worry since we had about 3-1/2 hours to get back to the ship.

    I never cut it close.
