  1. We used the tux rental on Oasis and the tuxes were hanging in the cabin when we arrived. My DH and DS got measured beforehand and we did the order online.

There were 2 shirts with the tux.

Here's a pic of our cabin on arrival day

  2. We always book our vacations far in advance. This June cruise we booked as soon as the dates were released in 2013.

Since my DH is a teacher we have limited dates that we can go on vacation, either 2nd/3rd week of June or 3rd week of August. He teaches the regular school year and a summer school program. We try to now vacation during Christmas break or spring break.

When we get back this year, I will book my vacation for 2015.

  3. I searched for an answer before posting :)

We are heading on Ex on 6/19/14, have 4 cabins booked with 2 people in each. There is a possibility that one of the people may have to cancel, leaving 1 room with 1 person. I know the cancel penalties for the person cancelling but what happens to the fare of the person still going?

    Thanks!

  4. Used Room Service for breakfast every morning on Oasis in November 2011 (so its been a while). Always ordered the pastry plate and coffee for 7am. Received a phone call when it was on its way, food was always what I ordered, service was great. We used the hanging car and put it on the door the night before,

Nice peaceful way to start the morning, we were in a standard balcony.

When the rest of the family woke up we went to a second breakfast.

  5. For the past 3 days,I have not been able to get on the RCCL website to check prices. When I click on the "book now" button I get redirected to the "My Cruises" page with this error across the top:

The information you requested is temporarily unavailable. If you are trying to make a reservation, you can contact a Certified Vacation Planner at (866) 562-7625 or click here here for our International contact information.

Any tricks to getting around this? I have tried from 2 different computers (home and work) with the same results.

    Thanks!

  6. The answer per my TA is me and DH and also my DD since she is booked n the cabin with the 17 yo.

No my DS iust down the hall, we booked that cabin after the first three were booked and that was the closest one and was told that since that cabin has a 23yo along with my DS17 that isn't a problem.

Thanks for the tip about getting the health insurance cards, I have added it to my list/

Thanks again everyone for your help :)

  7. I used "technically" because we are the parents of the kids who are taking their friends, sorry if that was confusing.

The cabins are my DD (age 21) and DSs girlfriend (age 17) in a PR cabin #7591 directly across the hall from my and DH balcony cabin, #7590. And my parents are in the balcony cabin next to ours, #7588.. My DS(age 17) and DDs boyfriend (age 23)are in PR #7559.

Hope this helps and thanks for your help :)

  8. I searched for this answer before posting but didn't find anything.

We are traveling on ExOS in June, the group is me, DH, DD, DS and my parents. My kids are each taking a friend, since DDs friend is 23 he isn't an issue but DSs friend is 17 so I need the Consent to Travel letter, my question is do both mine and DHs name and my parents names get listed or just DH and I because they are "technically" traveling with us?

    Thanks!

  9. My husband and son have rented a tux for every cruise we have been on. Since we are very casual in real life neither owns a suit and is more cost efficient to rent a tux every other year than buy a new suit.

Our last cruise on Oasis we rented directly through RCCL and there was a problem with my husbands pants being the wrong size, we contacted guest services and they were swapped for a pair that fit, apparently they have a limited supply of stuff on board. We had the try everything on the first day so we had time to deal with anything that may have been wrong. The tuxes were in the cabin when we arrived. Pic below:

I love the formal pictures of our family "all dolled up"!

We are planning on doing the same in June.

  10. If all goes well and you are not tendered, then I would say that you should make it to Maho by 2.

Taxis are usually easy to find at Maho especially when ships are in. If there is not one then ask at the bar and they will call you one or walk over to the nearby Maho entertainment district and you will find one there.

We are docked and as far as I can tell are the only ship in port that day.

  11. I will be in St. Maarten from 1-8pm on a Monday. If I grab a taxi as soon as getting to port will I make it to Maho to see the big planes? Just perusing the schedule it looks like the big ones get in from 1:45 to 3:00pm.

Also, is it easy to get a taxi back from Maho to the port?

    Thanks!
