I was in Cozumel at Nachi Cocum March 2016 and I was drugged. I am a middle aged female and had a reservation for just myself but had taken a taxi over with three other people. I had a pina colada & some guac (never even got to the other food) and within 10 minutes it was apparent what had happened. Fortunately I was able to immediately get a taxi back to the ship (Celebrity Constellation) although I was very much struggling. I made myself vomit and pieces of pills were in the guac. I had not eaten anything but a danish earlier, It took about 24 hours before I returned to normal. It was likely Xanax that had been crushed (I say this with confidence as I have knowledge of Rx meds because of my job). Since that time I have found dozens of people who have had similar things occur in Cancun & Cozumel at different day resorts and hotels and bars. My advice is to take your water off the ship with you along with a protein bar or some granola and do not eat off the ship. I was one of the lucky ones.
Did you report this? What was said if you did.

This has nothing to do with OP's question.
OP, you have nothing to lose by booking with your CC company or any TA, except that they have control over your reservation if you want to make any changes. It is perfectly OK for them to give you as many AX points as they want, CCL has nothing to do with it. If you are getting a good amount of CC credit or points by all means book through them.
Thanks for that. Definitely booking...

Carnival does not allow any TA or other agent to sell any cruise for less than Carnival's price. Sometimes a TA will lower your price by giving you part of their commission or buying you a bottle of wine but they pay what Carnival says is their price.
Well with that beingsaid this sounds to be a good deal. I could take those points and book at a Hilton probably for a couple extra days or so...:p

I just saw on my Amex credit card website where if I book a Cruise through them I can earn a significant amount of points (for hotel stays etc). Just wondering if anyone has ever done this?
It seemed the same cost as booking through the Carnival website. Just wondering if there would be any downside to booking through my cc...TIA

Just for a weekend stay we stayed at the Marriott at the Brooklyn bridge. Not sure of the distance to the terminal but it was nice walking distance to be able to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

All of their gift cards are 10% off, so $100 cards cost $90 and $500 cost $450 - doesn't sound like much until you consider that you can save $200 on $2,000 in gift cards. They do sell out quickly though.
That sounds great. Thank You

$450
Thanks for that

So how much of a sale are we talking about? $500 in GC's for how much? Thanks

Thanks for that info aprilcruisers

Do the Carnival gift cards have expiration dates?
Asking because we may not be able to cruise until 2019 so I just don't want to buy cards too too soon or end up having to use them when we may not be ready.
-
Yes, but you don't have to join to earn points or buy the discounted cards.
Good to know. Thanks for that. I was hesitant about signing up...but not anymore.

Is there a fee to join AARP?

Thank you so much for that report, Lizzy. I loved that excursion in Roatan between the beautiful birds and that suspension bridge. I want to walk one of those one day. I'm glad I got to see what is in Roatan because just barely having heard of it I would have never figured how nice it looks there.
Also thanks for those pics of EPCOT we haven't been back there for 6 years and that was my favorite park.
BTW what was the name of your Roatan excursion as well as the company. Sorry if I read over it. Thanks! :p

For ones that carry cash how do you get through the airport security with it?

We were given one for our March 12th sailing on the Fascination but it's too bad that only 6 people showed up for it...
-
Yeah got this announcement on my Facebook page and like I said I will definitely keep these 7 ships in mind for future cruises. :(
-
Can you be subject to a strange smell, the lower your cabin is? Our last night on the Carnival Fascination seemed to have a strange strong pungent odor. We realized this when we came back from our excursion day. Had to keep the bathroom door closed to keep it out of the room. But wonder could this have been a result of being on U...? Aft I believe.

We just did the same itinerary as the OP and did purchase FTTF. It came in especially handy because we flew in a few days before the cruise. So with checking out at 11 a.m. from our Hotel it was perfect in that we got to the cruise port checked in and dropped off our bags to our room then went and spent the day in Old San Juan.
-
We're not beach people either. But just back, off of the Fascination a week or so ago and spent 3 extra days in San Juan and loved it. Saw the Forts and Old San Juan but our highlight was El Yunque Rainforest. Had a great time there.
St Lucia was another favorite as far as where the ship went. Loved seeing the Pitons.

If you're on lower levels of the ship do you have more of a chance for getting a sewage smell?
-
Not sure if I read it here but glad I brought my foldable cooler and the steward filled it with ice every day. It was great for our sodas as well as medications...

What time do they start serving breakfast in the MDR? Asking because I'm concerned if we have to meet for excursions as early as 8 a.m.
TIA
