  1. For those that have been on the Edge (or are currently on) do the TVs easily allow for an external HDMI Device?

I am bringing some movies on my iPad to watch and would prefer them on the TV

I know on the Summit (pre-renovation) they had to come and take the TV out of Hotel Mode

    Thanks

  2. Yes I have. The issue is most of the business class flights are sold out already so I can’t get an idea of the pricing. Also the coach chairs that are left many of them are the fully refundable so they’re much more expensive.

You are very wise to start stalking the air sites early! We did that for months.

Thanks - I've been looking at MIA, PBI, FLL and I kept tossing MCO into the mix - I hadn't thought about TPA

So far from what I'm seeing / reading - the 6k-7k/pp round trip looks to be the number I'm working with which is MUCH better than 10k-12k pp

I actually found one route that was interesting - PBI->ORD->HKG-> MEL with a 4 hour layover at each point - the only downside is you get into Hong Kong at 8pm and the connection is at 12:30am

  4. Globaliser - We are a family of 5 and doing business class so if we don't do the flights early we run risk of there not being seats

I know that December/January is when it's summer there and it's holiday season - We are doing this time because it's school break. As business class is sold out on most flights for THIS year, I just was checking for the furthest out - but figured I'd ask on the board to see what others got

Buchhalm - Unfortunately due to this being around school holiday time we are pressed for time so around the world flights won't really work

d9704011 - Right now Air Canada was the best pricing (even for this year) the only concern is Toronto and Vancouver in December/January and if the airports have any weather issues

  5. Northern Aurora -

I did look at Hawaiian Air already and those won't work -

We are doing this as a winter school break trip so we don't have the extra time / flexibility to break up the trip like that

Doing a long flight isn't a big deal - we are more concerned over the cost for the business class seats

It's amazing how big a swing in pricing there is - I've even tried things like AA to LAX and then Virgin to Australia

My main reason for the post was to get an idea of what others might have gotten - especially if they got their flights right at the 350 days (or whatever the exact number is) out from when they were traveling

  6. Right now I'm looking at

Melbourne - MIA - Toronto - Vancouver - Melbourne (Air Canada)  - Equinox Post Renovation

Sydney Would be PBI - ATL - LAX - SYD (Delta) - Solstice Pre Renovation

Feel free to give thoughts one which one would be better - I'm leaning towards Equinox

  7. Hello everyone - I already posted this on the Australia board, but was recommended to post here.

I'm in South Florida and looking into a December 2020 Cruise out of Melbourne  or Sydney. I can't book air for about another 8 months (assuming I do this)

Sydney fares seem to be much more than the Melbourne at least for this year

In looking at fares for this year i'm seeing 12k+ for business (where available) but in the 6k-8k range for flights in april/may (furthest out you can book right now)

I was wondering what others have seen booking as soon as the flights open for business class.

    Thanks

  8. Thanks - I missed that board - I actually think I found some decent fares (at least for Dec 2019) on Air Canada from MIA via Toronto and Vancouver  - Going on the Eclipse out of Melbourne

Which is 1) Less Expensive for the air

    2) Will have been updated whereas the solstice is not until 2021

  9. Hello everyone - I already posted this on the Australia board, but as we are look specifically on Celebrity I figured I would ask here as well

  11. We are going to be on a cruise stopping in Nice (Villefranche) this July & none of the excursions really interest us as we've done Nice & Monaco before.

We are thinking / looking into going to the Oceanographic Museum. It looks to be about a 30 minute trip from the dock -

    1) Has anyone done this

    2) Do you have any recommendations if we wanted to schedule a car service ahead of time

    Thanks

  12. 1 ) As far as I know the Kids sale free is part of the $25 deposit offer and expires in 6 hours according to website

    2) While they run 50% the 3rd guest regularly I've NEVER seen kids sale free - You may want to give celebrity a call - and even if it does perhaps book one on each for the $25 - READ CANCELLATION TERMS CAREFULLY -  and then you can pick

  13. I haven't been on Edge yet - but my experience re: customer service - is the Spa is actually independent of the cruise line - so while you can complain to guest services - they very well may tell you that you have to speak to the spa.... and you can have excellent service everywhere but the spa. I'm not sure why / if the spa folks are held to the same standards as the rest of the crew. I've always wondered if someone went to Canyon Ranch Spa at one of the hotels and compared the experience (upsell / pushing of services / product) in the same way as it is one the ships

  14. A couple of points to respond to - My family (Myself & my wife- late 30s), our son who will be 6 and my folks mid 60s have been doing Celebrity for a few years now and have done Rome -> Barcelona on Oceania so I can talk to some of the ports

    1) We are doing the Edge on the July 6th saling.

    2) If you book I think by the end of the day today - Kids sale free

    3) If you haven't done the Med before I would tell you that these are much more of sight seeing cruises - you'll either want to book via the ship or on your own but make a plan either way

    4) I think either itinerary would work - I really liked walking around the old city in Dubrovnik - it is a walled city and the entire street inside the wall is marble - also remember a lot of cats here.

I hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions
