  1. PVPs work for Carnival, so they will contact their customers directly. If you book directly w Carnival, then Carnival will contact you. If booked w a TA, only TA can correspond w Carnival on your behalf. If I was a betting lady and btw, my last 3 cruises were all courtesy of the casino, my bet would be the up sell goes to the customer dealing directly w Carnival or a Carnival PVP.

  2. You won't be able to truly answer these questions til you cruise Carnival. Yes, it is known for being a party ship, but there are lots of choices onboard to find quiet more relaxed entertainment. I have never had problems w cabin noise because I study deck plans and generally stay in/around the same location on every cruise. We prefer the Empress deck, midship because there are cabins above and below us and motion is less. Book it and find out for yourself. You leave w liking NCL better, you know for next time.

  3. I use cruise cash as a way of saving money for upcoming cruise. I use it as a savings acct for spending money. $100 a month for 6 months and then I walk on the ship w my spending money already there and no need to put money on my acct. I am also a gambler and receive most of my cruises thru the casino, so the money put on is for casino purposes. I also usually end up putting more cash onto my acct once onboard. They will deduct purchases first from the cruise cash, once that is all spent they take from CC/cash. I had $33 left on my acct and they mailed me a check for it.

  4. They also confiscated a friend of mine's fan, still in box in her checked luggage this month on Triumph. We brought ours on in checked luggage, not in box on Elation in May w no problems. There is no rhyme or reason for those that pass thru and those that don't.

  5. If you didn't check the box or elect to pay gratuities when you booked then neither of you have paid it yet. They will charge the acct once onboard. You can set up two different accts thru the online check-in or when you get to port and receive your S&S cards. Regardless of when you set up the accts, you will be charged separately. She can call at anytime and prepay her gratuities before sailing.

  6. Back when I was a novice about booking, I used a TA and called her about upgrading. She would get me upgrades based on lower price of my current category. Little did I know, that I could have been getting OBC all along. I would be diligent about checking for price reductions and call your TA. If they know you are checking, they may work a little harder to get you what you want.

  7. That is a huge bet on natural gas prices staying low. I hope they keep the ability to convert back to bunker fuel. It sounds like it is going to be a cramped ship for the passengers.

Maybe part of the reason it will be so big to accommodate the gas tanks. And while we are at it throw in some extra cabins!! :p
