  1. Hello all, We are set to go on a cruise this spring break on the Carnival Dream. My son is bringing his girlfriend and he wants to pop the question while we are on board. Does anyone know how we can get a hold of the cruise director ahead of time or how we can go about doing this a unique way.

Just a question, is his GFs parents going to be on the cruise also? If not, they may be hurt that his parents were included and not hers.

  2. Carnival requires guests to provide proper travel documentation in order to travel. The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory. Non-U.S Citizens must contact the appropriate Consulates, U.S. Embassy and U.S. Immigration office to inquire about necessary travel documentation. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.

It is recommended that all guests travel with a valid passport during their cruise. It is also recommended that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond completion of travel.

*If you need to obtain a passport quickly, Carnival recommends that you contact VisaCentral at http://www.visacentral.com/carnival or by phone: 1-866-788-1100. Callers should mention that they are sailing on Carnival to receive discounted service fees

  3. As of right now we are staying at the Queen Mary for $159 and $10 a night for parking. I just like to be as close to the pier as possible and not have to take a shuttle:p. I do wish it was cheaper or free parking but it is what its is.

  4. I submitted a PP form this morning and instantly got an email back with a credit, the only problem is, it was not for the full amount.

Can anyone tell me if my husband qualifies for the senior rate, but I do not can we use that rate if we are in the same cabin? I want to see what my options are.

    Thanks for the help.

  5. Aft wrap 6485 on the Splendor - awesome room. We had privacy on the side section, and the shade moved around. The door from the room to the balcony was directly aft

Room was over the R in Splendor. We had 2 lounge chairs, 4 regular chairs and 2 of those little tables.

In this Cabin, can the dividers be opened to access the balconies on both sides?

  6. We have had aft wraps on many ships - which are you considering?? I might have pictures I could share. ;)

We too are "aft wrappers"! There are some negatives - but in our opinion that balcony and the aft views FAR outweigh all of them!

We are looking at the Glory and the Splendor. If you have any pictures that would be GREAT! Also I seem to remember a website that you could go to that will tell you information on each cabin...i.e. will the balcony divider open...

    Thanks everyone for your responses.

  7. LUVS2CRUISE,

I had never seen the rate that says "HRCC DO NOT BOOK-HOTEL USE ONLY P51- CARNIVAL CREW" until today. I went to check on my reservations after I read your post to make sure I didn't mistake something in the rate I booked.

When I did a rate inquiry for the date that I already have booked in February I now see 2 different rates when using the CARNIVAL code. Along with the rate description you posted, I still get the one that I booked which says:

"P41- CARNIVAL CRUISE RATE INCLUDES 7 DAYS OF PARKING DURING CRUISE AND FREE SHUTTLE TO LONG BEACH PIER ONLY"

I tried a few other dates, and some come up with both rate codes, while others only come up with the rate code you posted.

I don't know if they only honor the rate for a certain number of rooms, but I suspect that may be the case for the date you are looking for.

I wish I had a better answer for you since their standard "Park and Cruise" rate is double the rate I was able to get with the CARNIVAL code.

Thank you so much I will have to call and ask.

  8. We also like the Hotel Maya for our pre-cruise stay in Long Beach.

When you use Carnival Cruise Code 0560018220 you receive a special rate (currently $119 + tax off season, and 139+ tax in season) and up to 7 nights free parking while on your cruise.

The hotel offers a free complimentary shuttle to the cruise port both to and from the port terminal.

The one issue with the Hotel Maya is that being on the cruise terminal peninsula it is somewhat isolated from downtown Long Beach, with limited dining options. This issue is easily overcome by using the Long Beach "Passport" free bus service to get to in to Long Beach and the many dining options that are available there. There is a "Passport" bus stop at the edge of the Hotel Maya property.

There are other hotel options with cruise parking, and I'm sure others will provide that information for your review, but for us, the Hotel Maya has always been our choice.

    Have a great cruise!!

When I put this code in for Hotel Maya, It says it is a crew rate and you must show ship ID at checkin. Do you know a way around this?

    Rate Details CARNIVAL CREW

HRCC DO NOT BOOK-HOTEL USE ONLY P51- CARNIVAL CREW $123.50 (STD RM) COMP PARKING COMP SHUTTLE TO CRUISE Carnival Crew ID required at check in

  9. If it were me I would book directly through Carnival. Pick a PVP and have each group call in with there own reservation and have the PVP keep them all connected together for dining reservations. I have organized 2 large groups through TA and I had issues both times. On our upcoming cruise, 2 cabins were booked through a TA and then I went through a PVP and my daughter followed me and booked with a PVP. We are both control freaks and I think we have better control this way.
