  1. I bought two different types of margarita mix and the mudslides. I tried them all and had a couple other people try them. We all had the same reaction--that they didn't taste like the drinks they were imitating, that the taste was simply bad, and that I just wasted good alcohol with them. I was very disappointed. Back to rumrunners!

Unfortunately, I have no choice. i will doctor the up, a little cream makes anything taste good and shake it up....very important.

  2. I just ordered a bottle of the pina colada mix and mai tai mix.....can I bring these bottles with me? between y husband and i we could use two bottles of alchohol for 8 days in the winter.

prices right now for bon voyage bottles. they went up 5-15 a bottles.

  3. I tried Baja Bob's stuff, also after reading reviews here. I found it to be horrible and ended up throwing it all away.

Can i ask what flavors you tried and in what form? Did you shake it up? I am very accustomed to the Splenda taste so that doesn't turn me off. Why did you dislike it?

  4. So I am a diabetic and love my fruity cocktails but cannot drink the mixes with all the sugar. I buy a sugar free cocktail mix prepackaged (like the flavor drinks you put in a water bottle). Love the cosmos, appletini and margarita ones. Will I have an issue bringing these on board (they are boxed, packages of 8, powder form) and will a bartender mix them or should I just ask for straight up vodka and mix myself. TIA

  5. Viber is a free phone and message app. Make sure you download the app and whoever you want to speak to does also. When on the trip turn your phone to airplane mode and when you get wifi (whether paid on the ship or free at ports.) make your calls and texts thru Viber. My son was in Israel this summer for 5 weeks and he used Viber the entire time to call home. Didn't cost a penny.

Remember all parties involved must have the app.

  6. Booked an OV guarantee for a great price. It's after final payment, the prices have gone up and now I'm dreading not having a balcony and being able to step outside whenever I want. Plus, with the guarantee I have no idea where we are going to end up on the ship. I know I should have taken this all into consideration BEFORE, but this trip was an impulse buy LOL. The price was just too good to pass up!!!

Does anyone think the prices could come down again? If so, I'd be willing to pay the difference to upgrade to the balcony - I just cant justify it with the price as it is now, even though I've paid more than double that per person in the past.

I am booked on the Splendor the week after you. I also got that great rate (seriously it actually costs more to stay home) for the OV guarantee. I have been checking availability on the ship and since we are three there is limited availability for a triple or quad cabin. There are only two decks with OV views, so unless there is an upgrade (which is very possible) I am sure your room will be fine.

As someone else said, winter sailings from NYC, first two days and last two days way to cold to sit on th balcony.

  7. Going to Nassau with the Splendor in January. Don't want a beach day and thinking of something different to do. Has anyone been on this tour. Is it worth it? Can I book it in Nassau on the pier?

Also has anyone been to the distillery? Is it near the port and what how it the tour?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I have the same issue with severe ankle swelling on cruises but it has happened twice when I was not on a cruise:

2 years ago I went from NYC to DC for a week. Drove there. The entire time I was in DC my ankles were like elephant ones. I come home and in one day they are back to normal.

I just came home from South Florida. I was there for 6 days. The day I got there my ankles ballooned. Every morning I woke up and they were back to normal but by the end of the day ballooned again. I drank loads of bottled water and watched my salt intake. I came home on Friday morning and the ankles are fine today not at all swollen and I was walking all over Manhattan before.

I really think it has to do with atmosphere. Call me crazy. Why when I travel south air, car, ship does it happen?
