  1. Yes, it's like a magic band. At one point it was free for Suites and I believe $5 for all others. Not sure if this has changed.

Just off Anthem where I saw the bands daily but still not being used by the majority.

  2. What a great coincidence - I had just decided Anthem to be our 2018 cruise and found this. Thanks for taking us along.

Do you know if there is a suite lounge? I didn't see one of the deck plans but figured it has to be there somewhere. Those reserved daybeds look awesome - hoping they might be a suite perk.

One more - Is the water in the indoor pool warm?

Not sure if this was answered but the suite lounge is on deck 12 aft. It's huge. Ricardo Mock is the concierge. You will walk down the hallway of cabins thinking you're clearly lost or mistaken when you finally come upon the frosted door.

Happy hour was pretty standard fare. Cheese, breads, veggies, shrimp skewers, meatballs, mini quiche, etc. breakfast was more of a European style with breads, bagels, muffins, fruit, and cold meats and cheese. I only ever ran into one or two people up there in the morning. Coffee machine is great!

Next Cruise sends a rep up from 5-7pm starting on Day 3.

ETA: there are nice loungers and daybeds on the Suite Sun Deck. We accessed it via the seaplex. Go upstairs to the door and use your key. They have ice water and towels up there too. You're not supposed to have to check out towels but that's inconsistent depending on who is at the towel station by the pool.

  3. Hi Seadog67, you didn't miss much at Atlantis today. It was packed with 4 ships in port. A woman staying at the resort was complaining to me in the lazy river that they shouldn't allow the cruisers in the park. I just smiled and nodded. Lol. We had a good time but there were lots of lines.

Carnival Pride and Breeze are on the other side of Breakaway.

  4. My family and I will be on your same cruise. In the past, I've found them to be strict on the age with other activities; a teen who was turning 18 a few days after the cruise would be over, wanted to play in the adult dodgeball tournament and it was a no go for him. One of our sons is turning 18 on April 30th and it would be nice if we could play in some adult sporting event tournaments together but, I expect the same and that it will be a no, since he won't be 18 yet. Maybe someone has specific experience with that on the circus thing. If not, you may want to make direct contact with the ship staff beforehand or if you can't find an email for it, ask once onboard.10 Days till we board!!!! :-)

We're on this cruise currently too. My daughter is 13 and reported back that they were strict with the age limits on the teen activities. Also would not let kids do Flowrider unless their parents were present.

  5. Are you sure? WANTED is on for the April 2nd cruise and I read they will be on the entire month of April. Seems weird WANTED would come one for one week, then leave for a week, then come back? I dunno, maybe :)

    Edited to add:

Just looked up WANTED from Los Angeles. I have en email from Royal Caribbean saying they will be on the April 2nd cruise. According to the bands web page, they will be on the Anthem April 29th also. Looks like they do come and go by the week?

Yep, Journey Tribute band got off last night in Nassau. They really were fantastic. Hopefully they will return. Looks like they were on Indy a few weeks ago.

  6. Thanks for the advice Carol. I will look into Trinity. I do have enough hHonors points to stay at the Embassy Suites for free but they are not burning a hole in my pocket!

We paid $194 tax included for Embassy Suites this weekend. You still have to pay for the shuttle so not as good of a deal as Ramada but not that far off either.

  7. At the Embassy Suites now. Just some additional info...

The shuttle to Embassy Suites picks up at the 15 and 45 after the hour at EWR. We arrived at the pick up at an awkward time, and it was cold, so we took a cab. $22 plus $1 per suitcase. So $25 for us (3 people total).

The port shuttle runs at 10am, 11am, and 12pm. You can sign up at the front desk and charge the cost to your room. $20/pp as previously stated.

We used Uber from the hotel to visit friends for dinner last night with no issues.

  8. Sorry Guys ?

    What is Escape room ?

It's a puzzle room. You get "locked" in with a small group and need to figure out the clues to get the key to escape. Each room has a theme so really no two are the same. The one on Anthem is called "Back to the Future".

We were able to book the escape room via the cruise planner.
