  1. We did the same excursion in Cozumel. We really enjoyed it and had a great time. It wasn't as chaotic for us. We did buy the photo CD for like $100 (I think). I knew from here that this would be the case and was prepared to pay it. For us it was an experience that we didn't know when we would have again so we wanted the photos.

When we finished we grabbed a bite to each and had time to explore the park before departing for the ship.

  2. My husband just used a free cruise certificate from the casino. He booked it over the phone through the casino group/department. Because of this, they had him flagged. As soon as he walked into the casino the host approached, addressed him by name and gave him the VIP sticker. He asked if he as all set for our Anthem cruise in 2 weeks. They said you need to call the casino department (where he booked the free cruise) and give them our booking number. He would then be "on the list" at the casino and would get the sticker, etc. Casino host said if you wait until you're onboard, they have to call the central office and confirm. This is not a speedy process she said. So it's better to link the reservation prior to.

    Just our experience!

  3. I wouldn't pay $1800 more for the JS. I would use that money to do a short 3 nighter to get the points.

We're actually doing Anthem next month. Not thrilled with the ports but couldn't justify the $2k upcharge to do Allure with better ports. Excited to try our first big ship. We're also just about to hit Diamond. DH spends a lot of time in the casino and was offered a free cruise from that so he's sailing out next week to get the points to push us over.

  4. The 7 day or longer cruises will have less college kids than the shorter spring break cruises. As many have mentioned, breaks vary throughout the US and go from mid March to early April. You'll most likely have more kids the closer to Easter you get.

We done SB cruises before and were not bothered by the kids. There are plenty of places you can go to get away from them.

  5. What times is the windjammer open?

When we return hungry from a port day (we are on a southern port-intensive itinerary) at about 4pm what food will be available?

This is our first time on a RC ship and I get the feeling that "free" snacks and good between meal food is hard to find.

    Thanks!!

See Bob's link to the Compass but you should be able to get snacks at Windjammer, Solarium and Caffe-Lattitudes.

  6. Windjammer is a buffet. They have a wide variety of options. Pretty much anything you could want at breakfast, standard lunch (sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salad, pasta, etc). Dinner typically mimics the MDR menu with some standards added in.

On a Greek Isles cruise you'll most likely find a few more European items as the passengers will most likely be from that area. You can always find something to eat.

Overall, I'd say the good is fine. It's not 5 star eating. It's mass produced items to try to please a wide variety of tastes. It's not horrible and some things are better than others. You will not go hungry. Just keep your expectations within a reasonable range and you'll be fine.

  7. The dining room (MDR) is free and there are multiple seatings per night. On a Med cruise, you may want to pick the late seating so you can return to the ship and still make dinner. We did this on our Med cruises with no problem. You can also order room service for free if you like.

There is also the Windjammer, SeaView Cafe, Cafe Latte-tudes, and Solarium Cafe for food which is included in your cruise. You'll need to check the hours of operation once onboard (Windjammer is usually open early for breakfast).

  9. From what I have read here recently....

If there is something you want to see/do onboard, book it yourself if it's available now. RG can help rearrange bookings.

There is a separate line for Flowrider. If I recall what was noted it's something like one from your line after every 2 in regular line? I think there is a separate block of time for Star as well (need to find that post).

RG has more than one suite.
