  1. PAM, if I were you I'd wait until I boarded. There's really no advantage to doing it now (prior to May 22 the packages were notably cheaper, so if you ordered online before then you could take advantage of the cheaper prices, no matter how far out your cruise was).

Also if you're not sure, take the first short day and see how much you drink. Get the lay of the ships bars. You can order a package several days into the cruise, but once you order it must be for the remainder of the cruise. After several days, they will tell you via the dailies that it is the last day to order the package.

  2. Sometimes 5PM can be pretty busy w/ ppl w/ late dinner ordering something to tide them over, people coming back hungry from excursions. The wait can be anything from 10 to 45 minutes depending on what's ordered and how busy they are, and how many delivery people are on duty at any given time.

Super quiet even w/ the Horizon Court level above us. My friend and I are both light sleepers and we were never kept awake by any noise.

I didn't particularly ask for this room but I love the location. Mere steps to the pool, right by the elevator/stairs and directly below the entrance to the Horizon Court. I'd book it again.

  4. And unlike bringing alcohol onboard which is against policy, taking food (except the mentioned prepackaged food and beverages) is against the law of the country that you'll be visiting, and you COULD be fined. Do I know anyone who has been fined? Nope. But why do it? All the ports have places where you could get food to go, so you could have your picnic.

  5. Times change. For good or bad. I remember my first trip on a prop airplane. Pan Am, I think. All the male pax had on suits and the women in dressy suits and hats. The flight attendants (then she was a stewardess) also dressed to the 9s being impeccably coifed, often w/ a hat. And it was EXPENSIVE to fly anywhere. Now relative to inflation, both cruising and flying are bargains. The amenities may have declined but not as much as the inflation adjusted price. And I RARELY hear anyone complaining about "the good old days of flying" when you ate off bone china, were catered to royally, and how they wish everyone would wear suits, ties, dresses, hats etc. instead of slacks or heaven forbid... shorts or JEANS!!

PS: This is not an implication to the OP that it was what was being posted on this thread.

PPS: I adhere to the suggested dress codes.

    PPPS:...um..... that's all.

  6. Deck - Penthouse (11)

    Cabin # - 1600

    Class – AQ

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bed near balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Extremely quiet. I'm a very light sleeper and heard nothing from above.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Excellent view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal

    Was wind a problem? No

PS: Although the service in Blu was absolutely impeccable, I agree w/ zoe/Claudia. I'd probably not do AQ again since for most Blu seems to be the big draw.

  7. Hate to disillusion y'all but the Stevie Wonder who is flown in? Nuh uh. He's a Stevie Wonder look-a-like and he's on LOTS of different Carnival cruises. He's one of the Africn American singers that performs on different nights and he puts on the wig and costume. Come on, do you REALLY think Stevie Wonder is going to fly into Carnival cruises on a regular basis? If so, I've seen him 3 times. "Stevie's" been doing "surprise performances" for maybe 2 years? I got a kick out of people taking pictures w/ their cell phones of some guy and then talking about how they saw Stevie Wonder.
