  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but you can indicate your bed preference when you check in. I would really like the beds separated because it seems more comfortable to have your own bed than to share;).

Yes you can. You can request your preference when you book. If it not the way you want it when you get to your room you stateroom attendant will make the change for you!:D:D:D

  2. What if you used the 50K points for OBC? I believe that would be combinable with the 125K points to get $2100 off the cruise. Would you be able to use $500 OBC? Gratuities alone would be $168 for a 7 day cruise. A couple of excursions for 2, and you would use up the $500.

We typically get OBC as well. We save up our points to try to get an absolutely as close to free cruise as we can every 5 years. I just forgot to ask about the OBC being combinable when I called to ask about the best way to use the points to get the biggest bang for the buck!

  3. When the beds are sumushed together, does it feel like a queen or just two twins that are touching?

It depends on how good the mattress pad is that they use to cover both mattresses and how good the mattresses are to begin with. I have had some that you didn't even feel the transition from mattress to mattress then others...well it was just that bad. The beds when together are wider than a standard queen.

  4. I was told the other day by the Rewards Dept that I can use the balcony discount with the cruise discount. It seems like I get different answers (what a surprise:rolleyes:)

I have to check on that again as that is what I was planning on doing with my remaining points.

What I wa refering to was say:

I use 125,000 Points for a free cruise for 2 minimum ocean view room

I could then not use 50,000 points to take another $500 off the total cost of the cruise after using the "free cruise" points. If I was say in a balcony room that cost more than what was taken off by the "free Cruise", i could not use more BoA points to make it even less of a cost out of pocket.

I was planing on using the 125,000 points to take $2,100 off the cruise then another 50,000 points to knock off $500 more. This would have only left the tax's plus a few bucks out of pocket. I was told by 2 separate reps that they were not combinable. So now I have to use 250,000 points to get $2,500 off the total cruise to make it an almost totally "Free Cruise".

  5. So my husband just discovered that our cruise leaving March 3rd is a SPRING BREAK CRUISE! OMG! I was wanting to go enjoy ourselves and RELAX! I have a feeling that will not happen. I wanna enjoy my vaca not watch a bunch of college kids run around half naked yelling! Anyone been on one before? Am I wrong in my assumption? HELP!!!!!

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Forums mobile app

Thats a bit odd. We have been on 2 cruises during that time of the year and never had any issues with "spring breakers" I always thought it was to early for spring break but if not it was not noticed on my 2 cruises in the first week of March. Funny this is when we have liked cruising the most.

  6. This is a thread of my and anyone else's questions on the EOTS. One of my question is do the beds in the panoramic ocean view stateroom or balcony room separate? In all of the pictures I have seen, they are together.

Yes they do. You can request them to be apart when you book your reservation. Some times they are not done yet but the stateroom attendant will pull them apart for you and rebed them.

  7. Why isn't CNN reporting on this as another devastating blow to the cruise industry?

I don't think their propaganda department could come up with negative spin on repairs. They can give any positive news on making the ships better and less susceptible to issues at sea!

Maybe a story should read "Cruise ship goes into wet dock for devastating repairs to it propulsion systems caused by..." Nah still would come out a positive and well positive news doesn't sell like the negative news sells.

  8. Only one liter of alcohol purchased in a cruise ship's duty-free shop is eligible for a duty-free exemption, although if at least one bottle purchased on board is the product of an eligible Caribbean Basin country**, then you will be allowed two liters duty free. If you buy five liters of alcohol in - say - the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), and one of them is the product of the USVI, then you would have reached your duty-free limit. Any additional purchases made on board in a duty-free shop would be subject to CBP duty and IRS tax.

If you buy four bottles in the USVI, one of which is a product of the USVI, then you could purchase one additional bottle from the onboard duty-free, and it would be eligible for duty-free entry.
