  1. We are considering the KSC excursion with transportation to MCO on the day we return to Port. I have done a search and most of the data posted is 2 or more years old.

I'm hoping for some more current information. I am mostly interested in the mechanics/logistics of getting off the ship (Oasis) and getting to the tour bus. I am making an assumption that the tour bus is same bus that takes us to MCO---Right?? I would also like to know how much standing/walking is involved with the tour.

Our flight has been changed with a new departure time set at about 7:00pm. We thought the KSC excursion would be much better than sitting in the airport for 9 hours !!

  2. We are flying into and out of Orlando for an upcoming cruise. I am using a collapsible mobility scooter for the first time. Does anyone have personal experiences they would share as to problems/issues they had in Orlando? One of my main concerns deals with the tram between the terminal and gates. Can someone help?

  3. We will be flying into MCO for an upcoming cruise. I am wondering if anyone has had any issues in getting through the airport using a scooter or wheelchair. I guess I am particularly concerned about the tram between the terminal and the gates. Anyone have any experiences they would like to share?

  4. For us, it took roughly 3 minutes at security, and then straight up to the diamond line. That took maybe 5 minutes total, then we literally walked right on the ship. They were calling for group 3 at that point, so had already gone through the C&A groups. I had all my forms filled out ahead of time, and I do feel that saves a ton of time.

Thanks for the quick response. We have booked an Owner's Suite. I would hope the suite line would be similar to that of the diamond line. Looking forward to your review.

  5. They may let 2 non-suite guests wait in the suite area with 2 suite guests in the same party, but they won't let 10 non-suite guests wait in the suite area with 2 suite guests.

Bob--as always thank you so much for accurate and useful information. Out of our party of 7, only one is a non-suite passenger. Four are JS passengers and Teresia and I are in an Owners Suite. From what I have read on this thread, It APPEARS that JS guests have access to the suite waiting area. At least that is what I think folks are saying...

  6. We have a JS and the kids have inside rooms. Will they have to board in a separate line from us or can they board with us?

I had read somewhere on these Boards that how/where/when non-suite passengers were allowed to check in was at the discretion of the "Terminal Manager". Some ports allowed non-suite passengers to check in with suite passengers if everyone was traveling together. Additionally, non-suite passengers traveling with suite friends/family could also wait in the suite area before boarding. Has anyone experience this out of Port Canaveral. Our Oasis cruise includes suite, JS and non-suite family members.

Thanks to every one for their quick responses! I know that the cruiser planner has a complete list of venues that require entertainment reservations. Unfortunately, our cruise is not within the reservation window yet. I was just hopeful that someone could provide me with a current list of shows....

Thank you Merion_Mom---that's exactly what I was looking for.

Bob--As always, I appreciate your comments. I can see where I should have been a bit more specific.

  8. You should have no major problems with the scooter on your way to Raices. Go up two blocks on the street on the right of the Sheraton hotel then make a left when you see the taxi waiting below the tree shaded area. You'll still need to cross over to the other side to land the sidewalk where Raices is located.

Thank you for your quick response. That is exactly what I wanted to know...

  9. While it might be a bit of a challenge at some intersection due to the "cobblestones", yes... Sidewalks are in good shape. Your real concern should be strength, since the walk from the pier to Barrachina is almost all uphill.

Thoughts about a mobility scooter from the port to Raices?

    Thanks,

  10. First, any insurance is better than not having any at all. A friend of ours has decided to join us on our upcoming Oasis cruise. He has booked a superior balcony stateroom as a single traveler and RCIs insurance is about $160. We are staying in an OS and purchased our insurance from a well known outside provider. Our cost was about $550. Our coverage is much better than his. Having said that, probably RCIs policy will serve his needs.

  11. I happened to come across this thread. I am new to mobility scooters and plan on using one on an upcoming Oasis cruise. As already mentioned, there are several scooter that easily fold up and are no larger than a medium sized suitcase. I'm enclosing a couple photos of the scooter that I recently purchased.

  12. We are new to Royal Caribbean and unfamiliar with their membership tiers. We are booking a superior grand suite on the Anthem. I have read several posts regarding the use of the concierge lounge and am still confused.

As a new Royal Caribbean cruiser which lounge(s) do I have access to and what are the amenities that I can expect?

    Thank You!!
