If I can figure out how to do this, would you mind if I borrowed your pic and posted it in their Facebook site?

Though I bet they were as glued to the webcam video as CCers were.

That picture is a screen shot from their camera .  You can right click and save or copy it.   Not all web cams let you do this!

How to capture these kinds of photos goes like this - hit shift, start and S simultaneously.   That saves it.  Then simply(right click) paste it where you want it.

@BillB48  I note that Zaandam is heading straight into the canal.  I also note that there are no ships lined up for transit in the Cocoli Locks.  Might they send her through them, instead of Miraflores?  And if so, would that require fewer staff since there are no mules used?  EM

I think it will happen,  The Cerro Mayagual ahead of the Zaandam is a tug and he is going into the Cocoli.  The Zaandam is sure lined up to go there as well.   We need a webcam of the Cocoli!

I had read here some years ago that cruise ships with passengers aboard were required to transit during the day.  It may also be size related, as Windstar had their small (formerly Seabourn) ships doing night transits.  There was some dissatisfaction in the guests who did not realize this was the plan.  After one season, they went back to day transits.  Maybe @BillB48 could shed some light on this.  Hapag-Lloyd's Europa is also awaiting transit, but she has no guests onboard so maybe could do a night transit.  Her cancelled itinerary had her scheduled to transit last week.  EM

I have a feeling that they will take ANY slot to transit the canal.  I will also bet that not one passenger on board will complain.  The approval to pass was critical. No telling what went on behind the scenes.

I am hoping that the status of the sick passengers qualifies them for some sort of humanitarian priority..   The optics so far haven't been that good and further delay would compound that for Panama.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I have a feeling, if a Panama Canal transit remains a no go, you will see a repeat of the Grand Princess (still anchored off Hunters Point in San Francisco Bay as we speak) experience with a voyage by Zaandam to a U.S. west coast port (or naval base) like Oakland, following the same protocol as said Princess ship; serious cases to hospitals, U.S. pax transported (by chartered or military aircraft) to, and quarantined at, U.S. military installations like Travis AFB, CA, MCAS Miramar, CA, Dobbins AFB, GA and Lackland AFB, TX, the personnel and staff there having gained valuable experience and expertise with the Grand Princess pax; foreign nationals being flown home on chartered aircraft for quarantine there, and crew quarantined onboard their ship for two weeks while receiving medical assistance if required. Time will tell

Good to hear your reassuring voice on this thread.    I think people are beginning to see the gravity and the need for compassion!

I’m sorry if this question has already been asked and answered, but this thread is too long to read through entirely. I’m wondering when this cruise set sail?

. There have been 2 cases testing positive for Covid onboard.

So it appears that they had testing results then.  If the tests are reliable then moving passengers might be OK but dicey.

I think we must stop alarming the crew.  To serve passengers that test negative, with proper precautions, should be acceptable.  Try to put yourself in their (the transferred passengers) shoes.  If it were you, I think you would be at the breaking point.  For the crew to refuse would be somewhat mutinous.
