  1. Ive been loyal to NCL since my first cruise in '14, always have a great time, but agree prices have really gone up. Bliss Transatlantic solo cost me $2000, Encore Transatlantic is over $3000, not sure how the can justify a 50% increase. I am now looking at other lines, MSC has some great deals, and they will match Platinum status. I booked a 13 night Caribbean on Meraviglia in a solo cabin for $1200 total, I have a 6 night Pacific coastal on NCL that costs more. There are some things i dont like about MSC- Set dining, very basic beverage package, no real solo program, but still think ill have a wonderful vacation for half the cost.

  2. I had the opposite problem, i ordered my 6 bottles of water late-Friday night, and no water so i complained at guest services. Couple hours later someone arrived at my cabin with 6 bottles. I go out and have dinner spend some time in the lounge and come back to my cabin and find this 20180423_003005_HDR.thumb.jpg.a40c871a08815d43fa4cd3b084bbd064.jpg

Anybody able to count that up to 24? I’ve tried a few times and keep coming up short.

  3. We disembark in Vancouver and fly home the same day. Do I need to book a transfer in advance or will taxis be readily available to take us to YVR? We arrive at 7:00 A.M. but our flight isn't until 1:30 so we have plenty of time.

Its pretty easy to get from the port to YVR, take the Skytrain from waterfront station directly to the airport. It would probably be quicker than a taxi, and taxis are hard to come by in Vancouver. We currently dont have Uber or Lyft.

  4. While youre in my neck of the woods, Id recommend trying beer from Parallel 49, and Steamworks. Also Fat Tug IPA by Driftwood brewery is a local favourite if youre into IPA's, its rated at 7% but rumor has it they are under rating this one.

Take cover tonight , big storm in the forecast!

Well that was not a great lager but the poutine was good.
  5. Studios are great! Very smart use of space , and you always have use of the lounge. My first few solo trips i ended up upgrading to a balcony cabin when the price dropped, but after staying in a studio wonder why i spent all that extra money.

The social aspect is good too, have made many friendships that continue well after the cruise.

  7. I think it's because they are waiting for low tide. I'm surprised the Bliss would fit under the Lions Gate bridge at all. The Bliss is 20 decks high and I know some 15 and 16 deck ships that could not fit under the bridge. The only thing I could think of is they are building it with a fold down mast.

Good point, never thought of that. will be quite a sight going under it.

I remember leaving Lisbon on Epic, under the bridge there was pretty tight, think someone said was within 10 feet clearance.

  8. Today we booked the 9/30/18 5-day Pacific Cruise and the 12/8/18 Eastern Caribbean. We originally had the Getaway booked for 12/2/18, but we couldn't pass up being on the Bliss again.

Will see you on the 5 day Pacific, just booked it. Was a nice surprise when I noticed Bliss would be in my hometown.
