  1. Good summary. It will be hard to watch one of my preferred teams lose, but then I can can get fully behind the winner 😁 Go Matildas!
  2. This is so true! We watched the replay and I was worried for awhile. So happy the Matildas won. Now, I have a bit of a dilemma--it ended up England vs Australia. I was hoping I could just root for one but now, I guess I'm going with the Matildas. Go Matildas!
  3. I hope it's enough! Thanks for posting Leigh. Go Swans!
  4. Now that the US team has been eliminated, I'm going for the Matildas!! Go Matildas
  5. Hmm, maybe I'll see what I can do...wish me luck!
  6. Thanks for this. I've never been able to do anything with my tix online with SW, there's always a problem. Usually on their end but I'll give it a try. We used most of our points last year, so have to build them up again before they will be useful. If I try to rebook online, will it tell me the cost before I finalize it? (Having never successfully completed this process, I'm still new to it!) Thanks.
  7. Another win, not as close as some but still sort of close. It looks like, right now, the Swans will make the playoffs. That would be nice. Thanks for posting the score. Go Swans!
  8. I don't know, but I'll check it out. Thanks for the idea!
  9. That's a pretty good plan, maybe too many assumptions, but I think they are reasonable. I didn't know about the Plus fare until after we booked, so we didn't get that. I think that was a great decision to hedge your bets. If you think of it, come back and post your experience. Have a great trip!
  10. Thanks. I'll email you when we get home--I think I owe you a reply!
  11. Yes, I'm not sure Buddy was a full contributor lately; it's probably good that he retired now. The lake has been great--much cooler than home and we even got some rain 2 days ago. I am trying to soak up the cold--it will be very hot when we get home on Friday. At least my covid has finally backed off. Still a bit of a cough but otherwise better.
  12. Oh noooo, say it aint so 😮 I will miss Buddy. I hope they have his replacement ready to go. Great career with the Swans. I hope they do something special for him. Go Swans!
  13. Thanks for this. I had forgotten about the shared shuttle idea, thanks for reminding me. I got us off on the wrong track earlier--we need to get from FCO to our Rome hotel, and then a few days later, hotel to the port. My faulty memory left the implication we needed to go from FCO to the port.
  14. Yes, I got that wrong--cruisemom corrected me. I guess we'll just use a car service from FCO to our hotel in Rome and again to get to the port. Thanks for your help.
  15. Yes, I think you're right. It's been awhile and my memory isn't getting any better 😉 What's your take on cab vs car service? I am thinking November won't be as busy as the summer but I know Rome is always busy! Thanks.
  16. Hi all We will be travelling to Rome in early November and I'm thinking of just taking a cab instead of a car service. I know I read on one thread that the cab fare was fixed and it might have been 45 Euro. Is that still the case? I'm thinking it might be more now, with gas being more expensive. Do the rates change once the serious tourist season is over? Any thoughts about whether a car service is better than a cab? Maybe faster? Any thoughts or experience appreciated. Thanks.
  17. Wow, the Swans are really making a habit of these close games! I wonder if they will start charging more for their tickets, with all the extra drama and people having to stay until the very end of the game 😁 Thanks for posting the score Leigh. We have recovered from the Galapagos (and our souvenir covid from Peru) and are at the lake enjoying a break from the 100 degree heat at home. Go Swans!
  18. Hooray, a win for the Swans!! Not much AFL on now--women's world cup is using most of the airtime. Go Swans!
  19. Wait--are you saying that there is no rom service charge for concierge???
  20. Wow, thanks again. You are an absolute font of information! I'm going to print the map and stash it with my other travel papers. Thank you so much.
  21. I've been staring at this map for a few minutes. It looks like those 2 berths are about as far away as they can be! I think for now, I will just assume we will take the shuttle to the main gate, then the one to our ship. Anyone know if they assign groups for this or do we juts wait in a line??
  22. Thanks for checking. I'll check when we get closer. It would be helpful to know in advance where the ships will be. Thanks for the suggestion to create a new thread too--definitely less confusing 😉
  23. Thanks for this. I was hoping she had a "standard" berth she used but now I know she doesn't. Thanks for the help.
  24. Thanks cruisemom, helpful as always. I have been checking the port link and it's nice they have added the monthly calendar for berths. Do you know if we are allowed to walk the area or is it like a lot of ports and they don't want crazy tourists wandering around, especially with luggage??🙂 It never occurred to me to take the shuttle to the gate, then board the one for our ship. I am rusty after 2 1/2 years of no travel! Thanks.
  25. Hi all We will be taking b2b cruises in November/December, both leaving from Civitavecchia. The first ship is the Island Princess and arrives back in port on Nov 23. The Enchanted Princess leaves on a TA that same day. Does anyone know if a) Princess will move our bags for us (I doubt it) or b) can we walk the bags to the next ship ourselves? Or, maybe there is an intra-port shuttle that we can use? They are very different sizes, so I can't see them being right next to each other but maybe there aren't as many ships at this time of year. Just trying to set my expectations for that day. Thanks for any help.
