  1. Is there a way that anyone knows of, without surfing the net for hours, if there is a group or theme sailing on our specific cruise?

I just saw a video from a ship which involved a large group with musicians, etc, on a different cruise line, and was wondering if Celebrity would let us know if something like that was going on for our sailing?

Does this question even make sense?...

I'm jumping on this thread also...Would like to know.

  2. Have you ever 2nd guessed yourself on the cruise you booked?

DH is a land lover. Avid hunter almost year round. Fishes sometimes. Drag races. He is NOT a water or beach person BUT for our 35th Anniversary he told me to book a cruise, since I've always wanted to go on one with him.

I went with a friend years ago on the NCL Spirit. Loved it.

I have booked the Equinox for the 11 day Central America/Panama cruise in December (yes, DH told me he'd miss some of hunting season to go on a cruise with me. I may keep him another 35 years).

Now I am having second thoughts. For his 1st cruise, it may be a bit long. Several friends that cruise, and know DH, agree that he may be climbing the walls before it is over. And I definitely want him to have fun so he will want to cruise again, again, and again :)

I definitely want to leave out of Fort Lauderdale/Miami area, and there are several shorter options. 5-9 days but 5 days will be tooooo short for me. Late October to mid December.

The Constellation, Silhouette, Infinity, and Reflection would all fit in the 7-9 days and the time of year.

My TA said I can move my deposit. I also can upgrade to CC or AQ on one of these with the savings from the longer cruise.

The main thing is DH have a very good time. I can have a good time anytime I am on the water or beach. :D

Have you ever 2nd guessed yourself? and any suggestions????

    :confused::confused::confused::confused:

My husband isn't a beach lover either...I could snorkel and swim at the various ports and cruise for a month.

After about 9 days hubby is ready to go home....

Is your hubby into sightseeing? Adventuresome things like ziplining and ATV drives, etc? I think arranging these excursions to get him "off the ship" when possible would make him a happier "cruiser".

  3. A few years ago we had an awful experience when seated at a table of 6 the first night....2 of the people complained constantly and were extremely rude.

We asked to be moved after the first night and things were fine from the on.

This cruise I requested late seating, table of 10, thinking we could socialize more with others at the table if a few were rude, etc.

It will just be hubby and I this trip. Do you agree that a table of 10 would usually be better for us?

    Thanks

  4. Does anyone know what the charge for the Lawn Club Grillmaster deal costs?

    Booked aboard?

    Thank you.

    Lawn Club Grill.

Interactive open-air grilling with ocean views.

Meet our newest restaurant, available only on Celebrity SilhouetteSM and Celebrity ReflectionSM. The bright and modern Lawn Club Grill celebrates the flavorful joys of outdoor grilling. The highlight of dining at the Lawn Club Grill is the opportunity to serve as your party's "Grill Master," by being paired with a Celebrity chef to assist in preparing the menu for your table over custom-built, ventilated grills.

    Sorry wrong ship

  5. I have deck 12 on Eclipse, it is listed as no obstruction but it looks like those poles would be an obstruction in any pictures you wanted to take

I am not expecting any sun on the trip so the overhang won't be a problem :D

Thanks for all the input....It amazes me that there would be no discount for cabins on the deck with the poles that support the overhang. It looks like would block the side view on Decks 11 and 12.

  7. Hubby may want to get an occasional fancy drink at molecular or martini bar, but I like my standard"vodka and OJ or gin and tonic.

Can I still get these at those bars in the Classic Package if he is the only one ordering the fancier drinks at the full price?

Not sure if it is worth upgrading to Premium since he probably won't be doing the fancy drink nightly.

    Thank you.

  8. Many times we do CC for location. We like to be near elevators or stairs. It is very important to us on S Class ships. Just personal preference............

Same here...I couldn't get a regular verandah cabin on a high deck near stairs...Really dislike waiting for elevators so thought being able to get the cabin we wanted plus few extra Concierge perks was worth it.

I probably would gain a few more lbs after a cruise if I took the elevators...Always gain about 5 even taking the stairs frequently!

  9. So excited...Just booked a trip on the Equinox! I know it's so far in advance, but would appreciate any responses you may provide on the following:

    1. Does this ship have the deck maps on each level or is a ship map available at the courtesy desk?

    2. Are the NFL games shown somewhere else?..... I was disappointed to see that the ship had no sports bar.

    3. I know "premium" water isn't available with promo Classic....How about bottles of "regular" water?

    4. Is your dining table location on your sailcard or in your stateroom? Is the Maitre D available near the dining room before the ship sails to make possible changes?

    Thanks so much!

    Barbara

  10. The "free" promo package is the "Classic Beverage Package". It includes a pretty broad category of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The alcoholic beverages in the classic package include a lot of nice brand name products and call brands of spirits but not what I'd call premium, or top shelf, brands.

If you look at the Celebrity package descriptions on this link: click here

You'll see that a word in the first paragraph of each package description is underlined - that is a link that will take you to a representative list of the soft drinks, spirits and beers included in that package.

You can upgrade from the free package to the premium package for $11.50 per person per night. If you find out on board that you'd like to upgrade then you can do it on board and I think you can do it after the beginning of the cruise at a price prorated for the remainder of the cruise as well.

Just booked a cruise with perk for Classic package...

Will this code appear on our sailcard or is there something else we need to do when we board to activate it?

If we upgrade onboard, does the 15% service charge just get added to the $11.50 increment per day? I understand that there is no service charge on the promo Classic package itself.

    Thanks!

  11. I read the following on the wonderful cabin help list and another place online and am now worried that 6234 is a mistake....Red ink below is info obtained; blue ink is my comments/questions.

"Deck on 5 directly below, lifeboats below and behind. Could see all balconies aft of us as we were the aft end of the bump out”

I don't understand how one would see the balconies aft of this cabin unless leaning over. Lifeboats look like they are a bit to the front and back of this cabin. TA told me it was over where they store the lifejackets.

"noise" from decks on 5 outside the specialty dining. Some nights there was more partying there than others. Smoke came up from restaurant below”.

The geleteria seems to be below this cabin...can't imagine smoking??)

Thanks so much for any help! I can go up to Deck 7, but availability isn't as desirable as 6234 in my opinion

  12. Unless you want a fancy drink or high end spirits, the classic package which is included will be fine. The included wine is OK or not depending on how much you care about your wine, etc.

Did you know that you can upgrade the package on the ship for the same price as if you upgrade now. Why not just take the included package and then when on board, see if you really need to upgrade. I believe absolute and standard stoli (not elit) is included, kettle 1 or grey goose isn't.

Would the service charge be added if I upgrade to Premium onboard?

    Thank you

    Barbara

  13. I'm ready to book my cruise tomorrow morning and unfortunately don't have time tonight to read through the many posts about the beverage package.

I called and found that the Classic Beverage package is based on no more than $8.00 a drink. Does anyone know if decent wine with dinner would also be covered? How about standard vodka martinis? (absolute, stoli, etc)

    Are tips included?

Also, I was told that if the prices go down, my cost wouldn't be reduced unless it went down more than the cost of the beverage package for two. Is this correct?

    Thanks so much.

    Barbara

Thanks for all your input. I read the posts and since there was so much variation, decided to squeeze a phone call into Celebrity last night....I was told that at the Martini Bar (which we enjoy), one would have to order from the Martini menu which is $10+...However, sometimes the bartenders will let you order the Classic package martinis there (smaller, under $8 martinis, made with Absolut, Stoli, etc).

Also was told that their Happy Hour $5.50 martinis weren't able to be ordered under the Classic Package.

Since the 1-2-3 promotion perk of the Beverage Package still seems like the best deal for us (compared to paid gratuities or OBC), I think I'll book with the Classic and see if I need to upgrade when I get there.

    Thanks again.

  15. We recently booked a guaranty mini-suite cabin on the Epic for a June med sailing. I'm wondering if anyone can give me ideas and examples of the cabins they've gotten when booking a guaranty. Did it work for you? Was a disaster? DH is not too happy with not having a designated cabin but there were no minis available for booking.

We've booked the lowest priced guarantee balcony a few times. Once we we had a small metal beam on the front left side of our balcony (not bad at all/didn't block our view of ocean; another time we had about a foot of a lifeboat sticking up by our feet...ugly, but still not horrid; on another ship we received a hull balcony/forward (those built into the ship itself)...no problem either (alot more motion in front of ship though).

On our last cruise we decided to pay more and pick a room near the middle/top of the ship...Really great, not having to wait for elevators when we went up and down to buffet, pool, etc...Just one flight of stairs!

I was told to check with a TA when booking a guarantee...If the lifeboats don't "stick out" from the ship and aren't totally blocking some balconies, it's not that risky. I wouldn't chance getting a lifeboat right in front of our balcony!

  16. Don't forget to check monthly to see if your cruise is featured as the Lattitudes Insider Offer. That will give you triple points if it is 9+ months in advance. That is what we did when we booked our upcoming 2013 Sun Cruise. It was featured as the offer last May.

If you want TA perks, but like the option of making your own changes and calling NCL directly with questions for as long as possible, you can book with NCL first, then transfer the ressie to a TA for their perks right before final payment.

I usually book through a TA and got perks and a slightly cheaper rate. However, I also enjoy working with NCL directly. I am thinking of booking a cruise for 12/14 (non-busy week). My understanding is that if I book a guarantee balcony now during their wave sale, it would bump me up in balcony category.

Question: If I switched this reso to a TA before the cruise to get their OBC or other perks would I lose the "upgraded" balcony that NCL assigns to me if booked now?

    Thanks so much.
