  1. Mexico typically has Cabs everywhere, except Cabo. Cabs in Cabo are not nearly as prevalent, and far more expensive. If you have $$$, you can get there and back easily in a cab.

If it were us, we would rent a car Avis KB6 at Pueblo Bonito Rosa (Cabo's roads are some of the best in mexico). Just did it a faw weeks ago off a ship for $35, total cost, for the whole day. Upgraded free to a Fiat Rag Top... nice

Reserve the car online, go to Avis web site, search "KB6", take water taxi over to Pueblo Bonito Rosa and back (lovely resort to walk thru)

    ..

    .

  2. The cruise ships stopped going there for years

and now they are back to aca = SAFE FOR CRUISERS

Suggest chartering a VW taxi for $15/hr and check out all the cool spots near the port... like Tarzan's Los Flamingos... end the day at Paradise for some extreme Bungy visuals

  3. Ditto... know the prices before ordering... also carefully test the wifi before ordering... way too many times have we ordered 1st to find dribble slow or no actual wifi... sours good food and drink... speedy wifi is very rare for typical cruise port visits... If you need the internet at port visits, best to buy an international data plan from your USA carrier, saves on wifi search frustration

  4. When you say $6 do you mean perp person or per taxi and do they take USD? Thanks!

US cash is common and easy

Suggest taking plenty of small clean (no rips or tears) US Cash.

$1pp (10 pesos) to get on the water taxi piers. That is the only fixed rate. The rest is Mexican Bargaining. KEEP THE PIER RECEIPT, FOR RETURN

Just arrived 1st tender last week, paid $1 to get on the pier, they wanted $8 for a solo ride, waited 5 mins, paid $5 (one way).

I paid $5 getting back (could have gotten it cheaper).

If you are 4 or more, expect $3pp each way, and $1pp for the pier. $7 pp total cost.

Usually take $20's on the ship. and exchange for small bills in the casino

Better to get NEW small bills at your bank 1st.

We also use credit cards everywhere possible (not on the water taxis)

Also, if you are fit, walk back... beautiful long marina stroll, after nasty hilly start

  5. karima palace is expensiive, $75 pp just to get in

the afforadable FREE beach is nearby audiencia beach (lots to see and do, and boat tours right there), and then take a taxi by Las Hadas and walk in like ya own the place... for a self guided Bo Derek Dudley Moore '10' tour

don't worry about round trip taxi, taxis are waiting in line at the beach to take ya back to the pier

audiencia beach has all you need Playa La Audiencia (zoom out on the map link to see nearby Las Hadas east and Karima North East)

  6. walk outside the cruise terminal

    take yellow taxi to malecon

slowly walk south to Los Muertos, seeing (research 1st) all the wonders along the way

stroll inland from los muertos (taco stands, art galleries, ect)

5pm take taxi to casa isabella for food/drink/sunset view beyond belief

take taxi to walmart, pick up items/gifts

    walk back to cruise ship

  7. Walk beyond the crowded "out" gate, and walk out the "in" gate. Negotiate as low as $15/hr Pulmonia city tour. We suggest heading up to the BruHa (punta bruha) and stop beachfront cafe here for a cool drink => https://www.google.com/maps/place/Mr+Lionso+Playa+Bruja,+Av+Camaron+Sabalo+S%2FN,+Zona+Cerritos,+82110+Mazatl%C3%A1n,+Sin./@23.3027914,-106.4885174,17z/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!1m3!3m2!1s0x80deaafde40d8201:0x4e2b1d9ccaf7aa8b!2s3131+Lytton+St,+San+Diego,+CA+92110!3m1!1s0x8698aa558d2779f7:0x3088126f9e3a9d37?hl=en

then head back south stopping along the way till ya get to the Stone Island Ferry. Pay the driver off and say good bye, pay for a round ferry trip ticket, and finish off at Stone Island

  8. If ya just gotta Boca... We would Taxi...

We would prefer to lounge at los muertos beach, as there are plenty of varied appeal "beach day" sandy locations (lively to not so), and lots to see and do within a short walk. If you can walk a bit, have a cab drop you at the Malecon, and then stroll the 1/2 mile south to Los Muertos, and see many of PV highlights along the stroll

  9. There are more great pools in Cabo than we have seen anywhere in the world

on your being able to use one... It depends on your tact and ability to blend in and generously tip

If you are a rookie at blending in and generously tipping... go on the cruise lines resort tour

    This one is an eyeful

  10. Several times we have chartered a VW Beetle taxi, for as low as $10/hr.. The ship ports at the northern end of the very large auto traffic infested bayfront, so we suggest touring around the northern area, which has lots to see. Prepare to be warm and humid

  11. If it were us, we would Cabo Reserve Avis car rental at KB6 (Pueblo Bonito Rosa), get off tender asap, water taxi to Pueblo Bonito Rosa, self drive the well maintained Cabo region roads, stop by Punta Cerritos (unreal hotel visit location), and enjoy the spectacular coastal desert scenery along to Todos Santos (the scenery from La Paz is far lesser). Todos Santos is also not worth the visit otherwise.

Vice Versa, La Paz has far less to see and do, so a better logical Todos Santos departure point; and a taxi from La Paz would likely be far cheaper (Cabo taxi's seem regulated, very nice and expensive).

  12. The golden zone is named after the many jewelry stores there. Most all Mazatlan beach front resorts greet pool using cruisers with open arms, including the ones adjacent to the golden zone. Best to go few mile farther north to the El Cid, which is the preferred cruiser resort spot, so preferred that you will see many of your fellow passengers there. El Cid is giant and the beach has all the amenities and rent able beach toy options. Golden Zone resorts would be a bit quieter, if that's what you are looking for

zoom in on the satellite maps below

you can see the golden zone resorts here

  13. Cabo Bay is a large deep ocean bay in the middle of the turbulent Pacific Ocean (no one swims); extensive kayak experience would be a good idea. That said, take a water taxi over to Medano Beach. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by locals that will assist you in renting the rare Cabo kayaks

  14. If ya wanted to step it up a bit, you could reserve an Avis car at Avis KB6, then after a short visit to the Pueblo Bonita Rosa gorgeous pool area... ya stroll into the Pueblo Bonita Rosa lobby to the Avis KB6 table, pick up your car and visit a dozen area and regional resorts driving Cabo's terrific roadway system, leaving generous tips at each... Cabo is a WOW mega resort destination, most all welcoming cool drink seeking cruisers with open arms... and back to drop the car off at Pueblo Bonita Rosa... for a reminiscent grand finale' spell of pool side gazing at your ship in the beautiful Cabo bay... patiently awaiting your return

  15. Any vendors on beach renting water toys?
    All over Medano Beach

Any suggestions on a resort?? Do we need to get a day pass??

Have the water taxi driver take you to Pueblo Bonito Rosa (to the left of Tobascos drop off point, Giant Pink Resort). Cruisers usually arrive mornings mid week (slow time). If we wanted to "Resort", we would walk right into Pueblo Bonito Rosa (like ya own it, maybe just one person 1st, others follow, after big tipping), ask to see a menu at the 1st bar you see, immediately order drinks, follow up with a snack... like nachos... and TIP BIG IMMEDIATELY... You Are In

  16. When you get off the tender in Cabo, you are in a beautiful modern clean boat marina. Too Far... there are many marina front cafe's catering to tourists... Too Far... it is a walk just to get out of the tender terminal... once out... there are nearby cafe's... if you exit and walk to the right there are many marina front cafe's 1/4 mile walk... if you go another 1/4 mile to Cabo Wabo... you can eat fish tacos at bargain prices at several cafe's next to Ripps Bar (ask anyone once you get to cabo wabo, ripps bar and the taco cafe's are next to Cabo Wabo) and enjoy people watching. Along the beautiful marina you have dozens of choices at twice the price, with twice the people watching and beautiful marina water front view

  17. Hi, 2 of us will sail the Carnival Miracle in May, Please tell me how to get to Pulmonia, is there any tour that I can find when the ship docked? Thanks

Walk out the In Gate, try for $20 per hour

below is a pulmonia (Mazatlan Taxi)

    foto-pulmonia.jpg

  18. Been to La Paz several times. Cruisers love the whale sharks, so go for it! Suggest heading out to the nice beach (w/services) a few miles easterly of the cruise pier afterwards (end of the road). The city of La Paz is a few miles westerly of the cruise pier... after snorkel with whale sharks, the nice relaxing beach with services easterly would seem the better choice (La Paz city is the lesser nice). The area is harsh desert climate . Winter is nice. Summer is a bak'n 100F+

  19. Our ship ports at 5am

What early flight time out of BCN seems reasonable?

    ???

We could have made an 8am flight out of Ft Lauderdale recently

BELOW IS FROM A RECENT POST I DID IN FT. LAUDERDALE

the ship ports at the end of the cruise at 5:30am... Once on the ship, the guest services desk said we could walk off at 6:15am. At 6:10am we were allowed to walk off. They have large 8 person FLL airport transfer vans waiting for $11pp. We were at FLL airport at 6:45am. We could have made an 8am flight.
