  1. I’m looking at the Montreal to Fort Lauderdale, October cruise. One of the big draws for us is that Air Canada has non-stop to Montreal from Seattle. We’d also be able to fly non-stop Fort Lauderdale back to Seattle. Sooo… with Viking’s included air, how can we insure we get non-stop flights only? Thank you!
  2. Thank you. I’ll take a look at the Fold & Go.
  3. I’ve considered the Vancouver back to Vancouver trip. We can drive to Vancouver. Anybody know what the approximate air credit would be?
  4. Thank you. We do have a transfer chair, but it needs replacing. Just checking on options.
  5. I think it’s time to consider having my husband in a wheelchair while cruising. He does have a Travelscoot, and it’s great for the airport and once we arrive to destination. Not sure if we need to consider a power wheelchair or one that I can push. He does prefer me to push him around while cruising - he doesn’t do as well navigating his scooter amongst crowds. Which brand of power or manual wheelchair would you suggest? Thank you
  6. WoW! Great information. Thank you! I looked at the different layouts (door verses slider). I'm not sure it would make too much difference for us since I would help him in and out of either door scenario. Looks like ours will be the door. Any actual benefits to the door (i.e., more light...)? But I'll call Viking today and check out slider options.
  7. Thanks, but how do I find out what type of door? We’re in 4022. Viking Mars
  8. I think you’re right: it’s just a teaser. But it worked. We’re booked.🤷🏻‍♀️
  9. Thank you, dd57! Decision made. We have a hold on a penthouse. 🙂
  10. Thank you for that information. At this point, I’m leaning more towards the penthouse. He’d probably spend a bit more time in the cabin than we did with our first Viking cruise (booked lowest category). It was fine then, but priorities have changed a bit. I know the space between the bed and closet (in lowest category) is very tight. But what about the space between the end of the bed and that wall? I simply don’t recall if it’s wide enough for a walker. Thanks again
  11. So what exactly is the benefit of this $25 promotion? I called Viking and was told the $25 deposit basically just puts a hold on the reservation. We'd still need to pay a $100 cancellation fee if cancelled outside the 120 days. Full payment is due end of February for a December, 2023 cruise. Or can past passengers delay full payment? It's all a bit confusing.
  12. Several years ago, we cruised with Viking. Best cruise ever. Back then, my husband used trekking poles for balance . But now he uses a walker. Would the standard balcony cabin work? Is there enough space between the bed and wall to move a walker through that area? Anybody happen to know the width of that space? I know the penthouse cabin would most likely be a better choice. Just want to get your thoughts. Cost is ~ $4k more. In addition, do the penthouse cabins provide unlimited alcohol? Husband doesn’t drink, but I like to partake 😉 Thank you!
  13. Thank you, Linda! THAT was very helpful. 👍🏼
  14. Looking for photos of the standard balcony bathroom. Is there a grab bar or two?
  15. We're considering a Viking cruise and see the $25 deposit. Not too shabby. But if we were to cancel, it sounds as if there's still a cancellation fee - correct? Thank you.
  16. Interesting. Thank you. After reading the above post about Celebrity, I checked out the Solstice (they do Alaska RT out of Seattle) deck plan. That's all it took for me not to consider a cruise aboard. It looks crowded. Very crowded. As far as the Volendam Neptune suites: they're huge and the balcony is big too. That's important for us. But I'm realizing service and food, certainly would not be something we'd get. It's too bad. We're debating between three different ships for Alaska: Seabourn Odyssey (~3x more $ than Neptune Suite) and Oceania Regatta (Penthouse - ~same as Seabourn). Decisions, decisions. Since we can drive to either Seattle or Vancouver, we might wait a few months to see if any of the cruises go down in cost. Right now, I can't justifiy Seabourn or Oceania, and it's a 'possible' for the Volendam.
  17. Thank you. I’ve also looked at their website to see about their spa access, but I assume that’s not included too?
  18. We’re considering booking a Neptune suite. If beverages are in the lounge, I doubt we’d consider the Have It All package (husband doesn’t drink alcohol and I like a glass of wine). Thank you
  19. Thank you all for the helpful information. The Odyssey certainly has plenty of ada cabins. Their balconies look big too - I love that. I’ve narrowed down our choices to Oceania Regatta, Seabourn Odyssey and Holland America Volendam. Quite a difference of choices, I know. Holland has the large cabins and the walk-around promenade. But… I’ve always wanted to give Seabourn a try. We may wait until summer approaches and see if there are any last minute deals (we’re flexible and can drive). It’s a risk, but at least I have 2 great options and 1 good one. Thanks again
  20. We’re considering a back-to-back Alaska cruise. Debating between the Muse or Whisper, but which one offers more outdoor areas? Also, how handicap friendly are these ships (automatic doors, ada restrooms…)? Thank you!
  21. Curious about the O and R class Penthouse cabin comparisons. Which did you prefer and why?
  22. I see there's a certain number of reservations one can dine at each of the specialty restaurants. Is that the same if you're in a penthouse suite and want to have in-room dining?
