We had one on the Sunshine in December. Actually we had a fb meet and greet immediately followed by a cc meet and greet. 3 or 4 Carnival reps showed up for each one. We had a very active enthusiastic leader who planned both events. He was in touch with Carnival long before we sailed. At the cc Meetup, he had a ton of small prizes to give away, croc visits, tervis tumblers, the round notecard boxes, etc. they provided cookies for the fb meeting. Don't remember food in the cc meeting. We got invitations for the cc meeting in our room.

Each day that you are in port, the fun times will list emergency contact information for that port. Bring that information with you when you get off the ship. Either tear off that section of the fun times and put in your pocket, or take a picture of it with your cell phone. In the unlikely event that you have an emergency, you'll be able to contact Carnival's port rep.

Not sure why people feel the need to correct from upgrade to up sell. But then I'm also confused when someone feels the need to correct a grammar error on here like you're vs your.
Congrats on upgrading your room.

27 days for me this year but that's because i got some great casino offers. I could have made platinum in 2017 but rumor has it that the cheap casino deals are only going to the high level players now so i won't be getting them. That could slow me down.

I did a behind the scenes tour on the Fantasy last year and they told us that sometimes the singers aren't feeling well so they have a recorded track they can use. To be honest, I always think they are lip syncing up there but I could be wrong.

Had a lido balcony cabin on my 1st cruise 12 years ago. Best location ever! Enjoy!

I get the social media package for $5 per day. You can keep in touch with your daughter thru Facebook messenger.

I usually bring a highlighter to mark activities in the fun times and that highlighter does double duty as my bingo dabber. The dabbers they sell are too small to use at home and I feel bad buying them and throwing them out on the ship.

I completely understand because after 7 Carnival cruises, I recently took a Princess cruise. I think you'll find more similarities than differences. Personally, I found the service on Princess to be a little more formal than Carnival. There were some extra touches on Princess, especially in the dining room. I think there's a little more nightlife on Carnival. You might actually find people singing karaoke or dancing in the club late at night. Try the chocolate melting cake. It's legendary. Hope you have a great cruise.

Some decks have refrigerators in the cabins and some do not. For example, I'm booked on deck 8 for a cruise on Sunshine next month and I don't have a refrigerator in my cabin. Not sure if that matters to you.

I've been waitlisted several times. I've always got the dining time that I wanted. Unfortunately, I never knew that I got it until I checked in at the pier and saw my dining assignment written on my Sail & Sign card. So maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised when you check in.

Personally, I find that the portholes are too small and the wall is so thick -so your view is extremely limited unless you are standing right up against the window. I prefer the cabins that have a full window which is considerably larger than a porthole.

It's unfortunate that it happened but they can't undo it. I'm not sure what you want Carnival to do about it now. How can they make this better? Are you looking for compensation? I could be wrong but I doubt you'll get it. If compensation would have made this better, you probably should have asked for some type of OBC on the ship.
They probably get hundreds of calls, letters and emails each week from returning guests. I think the best you could hope for now is some generic form letter saying "thanks for letting us know what happened. We apologize".
Honestly I think you have to chalk this up as a learning experience and use the dead bolt and the snoozing sign in the future.

I was offered morning or evening service on the Ecstasy in October. Friends sailing with me were not asked at all and received service twice daily.

I would not like to be moved either. Someone can come along at the last minute and boot you out of the cabin that you reserved months ago. If they offered to upgrade me because they wanted my cabin but I could turn down the offer, that would be different.

We had FTTF on our last 2 cruises and loved it. We have it again for this December on the Vista!
I have one question though. Do the luggage tags need to be printed in color for the porters to see the FTTF logo? We ran out of colored ink.

Just make sure the porters tag your luggage with the orange Faster to the Fun sticker when you hand it to them.

The way it has been explained to me, let's say port charges are $3000 for the ship to dock in Aruba. When you first book your cruise, they estimated how many passengers will sail on that cruise. Let's say they estimated 3000 passengers so everyone was charged $1. Shortly before embarkation, they have the final passenger list and there are 3250 people onboard. So everyone paid a few pennies too much and gets an OBC.

So did your friends get twice a day service from their steward? Wonder if the other guests on their floor did too? Could have been because they were Platinum, they may have been told not to ask the elite guests lol. It doesn't have anything to do with the level you stay on for sure. They are even asking suite guests which is ridiculous, suites are already paying more in gratuities so they should be automatically twice a day no matter what.
Yes my friends got twice a day service. I ended up making my own bed each morning because I didn't want to come back to an unmade room. In hindsight I should have requested morning service but I thought I might want to sleep late.

It's a 6 day cruise..
And your all right, upsell not upgrade oops
I never really understand why people feel the need to correct people about that.

10/10-10/15 on the Ecstasy my room steward had the card and filled it out for me. Twice he asked if I wanted morning or even service. When I hesitated, he then offered both, but I chose evening service and it worked out fine. However i didn't feel that I received that extravagant pampered service level that I expect on a cruise. I had friends in 2 other cabins and they were not asked to choose and they never saw the card. I'm not sure if that's because they are platinum or because I was only on deck 5 (kind of in the cheap seats) or if it was purely coincidence.

I think the problem is that she already bought the plane ticket. That's the money she's out if she doesn't pay the double fare to cruise solo. I bet her friends didn't book flights yet so they'll only be out the $50 deposit.
I know it's a crappy thing for the bride but hopefully her friends didn't do it on purpose. If they are in the wedding, that's usually pretty darn expensive. You have to buy a gown and shoes, throw a bridal shower, get a gift for the shower and a gift for the wedding, and there might be hotel expenses to stay where the wedding reception is. When you start adding all of that up, it can be overwhelming. Too bad those friends didn't offer to each chip in enough money to pay for her fiancé to join her on the cruise.

I was in cabin 7439 in June. It's not an inside, but it is aft. The noise and vibration was pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend being that far back.

I was just in Dolphin balcony 301 and everything was fine. Everything was in working order. Nothing was stained or faded. It looked just like the picture posted above except there was no bedspread. My only minor complaint was that there was no top sheet. The plain white duvet cover functions as your combined sheet/blanket. If you get hot in the middle of the night, you can't just kick off the blanket. I should have asked Nellie (our room steward) to add a sheet but I didn't usually see her until the evening and I didn't want her to have to tear the bed apart for such a minor thing. However, on future princess cruises, I will mention that to my steward on Day 1. Hope you have a great cruise.

This is a little off topic bit I recently sailed for the first time on Princess. On Carnival, I usually get a free drink card once I hit 1500 points. Does Princess have a similar program?

Princess VIP Cruise
in Cruise Casinos

Although there were plenty of options, none of the dates worked for me. I'm really disappointed.
I sailed on my 1st Princess cruise in August so I don't really know how their casino offers work. I'm hoping they send another round of invitations out when this offer expires.
