Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I respectfully disagree. In my opinion, a good price would be considered a price that is substantially below the typical price paid or the average price most folks pay over X amount of time. An extreme example, if a widget typically sells for $1000 new at costco and they are running a one day sale where the widget is priced at $300, I think most people would say that is a good deal on a widget that typically sells for $1000. If other people booked an ocean view cabin for $2500 for the same sailing dates, then I would like to know how they got that rate, was there a discount code from AAA, booked through costco, booked through A1 travel agent, ect.
  2. I have no idea if this is a good price or not for this 10 NIGHT NEW ZEALAND Departing From Auckland, New Zealand Aboard: Celebrity Edge in Feb 2023. There are a total of 4 of us sailing and we plan to say in ocean view cabins. These prices were directly from Celebrity's website. Is there a better site to shop for this cruise or a discount code I can track down for additional savings? Thank you. First and Second Guest Total $4,090.00 x 2 Third and Forth Guest Total $4,090.00 x 2 Discounts Non-Refundable 75% Off 2nd and 4th Guest Discount -$4,868.00 x 2 OBCOVERLAY NRD ($100.00 to spend Onboard) x 2 Dining Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included at select venues Main Dining Time - 08:30 PM Taxes & Fees Taxes, Fees, and Port Expenses $472.58 x 2 Trip Total $3,784.58 USD x 2 Minimum Deposit $900.00 USD x 2 Balance due November 17, 2023 $2,884.58 USD x 2 Total Taxes & Fees $945.16 USD Trip Total $7,569.16 USD Minimum Deposit $1,800.00 USD Balance due November 17, 2023 $5,769.16 USD
  3. Thank you for sharing. Where you taking an special precautions throughout the cruises? For example, eating on the outdoor patio, no shows, no crowded bars or specialty restaurants?
  4. From your experience on board or from reports from friends or family who recently sailed, what percentage of people do you think are positive and what are the odds of pickup up covid during the cruise? I'd image the case count or percentage of covid positive guests cruising right after the holidays would be higher than the summer time.
  5. Did you feel like the food selection, paid or not, is comparable between the two cruise lines? It also seems like the demographics for Celebrity skews older, but there are still going to be quite a few kids? In my experience with Norwegian kids have never been a problem or a bother for us, but we have never cruised with Celebrity, so I'm not sure what to really expect.
  6. Our family is trying to decide between Viking or Celebrity. 4 adults ( age 40's and 70's ), we are active and won't be spending much time in the cabins. We really enjoy good food, active excursions and nightly shows/activities. We have no problem booking excursions ourselves through 3rd parties. Don't drink much. Exceptional service is not a huge factor as well. We don't need or really appreciate 10/10 service, 7 or 8/10 is fine. Two of us would be just as satisfied with an interior cabin vs balcony. Knowing this, is Viking worth the huge price difference vs Celebrity? Would we be just as happy on Celebrity with an upgraded meal package and 1 upgraded cabin vs Viking and at half the price?
