We booked this cruise in early March and back then we were struggling to get a room. We've been trying to talk some friends into joining us but I think they might be a bit late by the sounds of things.:eek:

I need advice from anyone who has travelled on the Solstice with kids. I have 15, 12 and bringing a 7 year old with us, can anyone please tell me what the teens/kids clubs are like.

We will be travelling (hopefully) next April - Sydney to Hawaii.

Is there much on board for kids to do as it's an 18 night sailing with about 11 sea days so I don't want them bored.

We just got off the Rhapsody and they totally loved that ship, there was always something for them to do onboard.

Any advice on the Solstice would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to book something in the next couple of days. Thanks.

Hi KaseyOz, I didn't receive a friends and family one. Is that something different? I've heard other people mention these also and thought maybe that was something different you had to purchase. Sorry if I seem so vague :confused:

I guess I should try and spend forever on hold RCI or Celebrity to confirm whether I can use these RCI deposits for Celebrity.

After reading several different things on this I'm totally confused. We've just come off Rhapsody and while onboard I paid deposits for 2 open bookings which depending on the amount of days gave me $200 onboard credit for each stateroom and the deposits never expired. We're now looking at cruising Celebrity Solstice next April and hoping to use these for that cruise.

1. Can I use my RCI Next Cruise deposit for Celebrity (owned by the same company)

2. I didn't nominate a travel agent as I'd like to shop around

3. If I'm offered a special price with an agency does that mean that I can use my RCI Next Cruise onboard credit?

Hi Sparky74, did you go to another island instead or just cruise around for the day?

Just wondering for those who are currently on board. Did you get to stop at Mystery Island this week, or is the jetty still damaged? We're on the next cruise out this weekend and was really hoping to get to Mystery Island this time.

When you say you missed out on Mystery Island did you go to an alternative island? We are due there in 2 weeks and have heard that wharf was destroyed by cyclone but have also heard other rumours that there is a floating jetty in place and someone else said on their cruise they just cruised around slowly for the whole day.

In Noumea there is Lemon Bay to snorkel at, not the best (i.e not as colourful as the others), but you can take a tour to Amadee Island (spelling!) or Escapade Island. If you want the details on Escapade just let me know. Jinek Bay is the better one, but I couldn't justify the $15 fee for the 2 kids who would spend only 5 or 10 minutes looking than just want to play in the water.

Has anybody does this tour from Luganville or Santo? Am looking at booking through local tour company and have been quoted $AUD65pp + $10pp for the canoe. Is this reasonable or will I get a better deal when we dock. There are 9 of us in total doing this tour (5 adults and 4 children - half price for kids). Anyone with experience booking this tour would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Has anyone done a tour from Vila to Lelepa Island before. If so is this tour available from the dock or am I best organising from a tour company before we leave home. Have got a price from tour company (Lelepa Tours) and it worked out in AUD$87pp not sure if it would be cheaper organsing it in Vila and is it worth doing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone.

Hi there, we are stopping at Luganville in a couple of weeks and was wondering how easy it is to get from Luganville to Champagne Beach/Bay? Is it too far away to drive, or is there a boat that does the trip. Would love any feedback. Thanks. :)

Hi there, I know that I've seen a thread about this but couldn't find. I am about to make final payment on my cruise tonight. We've opted for the set dining and I just want to know if we can pay our tips upfront once we board or is it better to pay to the travel agent before we leave. Also we are 2 adults and 2 children in the room are we able to only pay for the 2 adults and have the 2 kids auto tipping removed. Would love to get some feedback on this, thank you.
