  1. We were charged for drinks ordered by another table in the Chart Room on QV in September.

Spotted it when we received mid voyage statement.

Went down to see the purser who went through all the receipts for that night and found one for the same amount, it hadn’t been signed by the guests which I didn’t think could happen.

They refunded us no questions asked but expect it was followed up.

  2. On Queen Victoria last month you could get small cartons of either skimmed or whole milk from the Lido at breakfast. We took a carton from breakfast and kept it in our fridge to put in our coffee, lasted a few days in the fridge too. Didn’t need to use the long life sachets.

  3. Free washing powder capsules on Queen Victoria earlier this month. I found if you get the timing right you can get washing done quickly, if you get it badly timed there can be a queue.

Still, always meet interesting people in the launderette who have stories to tell.

  4. Hopefully someone will know the answer.Since the recent refit, Queen Victoria staterooms now have tea and coffee making facilities.

What is the selection of teas and coffee available to make in your stateroom?

Am thinking specifically is there decaffinated coffee?

If not was going to buy a packet and bring with me or would that be frowned upon?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. With all the problems with British Airways this weekend and cancelled or delayed flights can't help but think what if...

We are joining Queen Victoria at Athens in September and will be taking a Cunard chartered British Airways flight from Heathrow to Athens.

The ship would or could not wait for the flight, so we would presumably join at another port, if that was possible once the flights were back up and running. Logistically this would be a nightmare as we would not want to fly to Athens as the ship will have left.

Has this happened to anyone and how did it get resolved?

Am not worrying as am sure all the problems from the weekend will be resolved, so idle thinking really.

  6. We have always self disembarked at Southampton as we are happy to wheel along our own suitcases.

Usually we get off at about 9am and it is quiet in the terminal once you are off the ship. Very few appear to self disembark.

It is always fascinating to see all the cases lined up waiting for guests to collect them, and there are as you would expect hundreds of them.

  7. Apologies for going slightly off topic, we have travelled on two Cunard cruises and we will be going on our third in August. This means we are now gold members and as such receive a gold membership pin. Does anyone know when you receive the pin, is it before the cruise or when you board?
