  1. No laundry facilities. They do offer laundry service but a bit expensive. We did not do private tours. Every stop will offer included walking tours and bigger cities like Vienna and Nuremberg will have a bus tour. Nuremberg and Vienna have huge Christmas markets. We did the optional excursion to Salzburg which also had a very nice market. The drive over was just beautiful. I enjoyed Passau’s market on a previous cruise. Even though it was smaller the people were exceptionally friendly 

  2. My daughter and I were just on the same cruise. I have submitted a review which I hope will be posted soon. We found the ship very crowded. No one ever starved to death on a cruise but we especially enjoyed our dinner in the Crown Grill and went twice to the Saltydog Gastropub. Our favourite place was Vines. Considering everything, I gave the cruise 4 stars. I am annoyed with myself for not getting the name of the best cocktail I had which was made with ginger beer and lime. Got it in Club Fusion and it was really delicious.

  3. All that Kyss bag will do is give you a false sense of security allowing you to be distracted and not even noticing that someone cut the cable or the bag. I would rather invest in a water proof case such as otter box for my phone. Everything else can get wet. I usually take some ziplock bags from home for my money and cards. I have a swimsuit with a built in water tight pocket that I put that stuff in. There is no reason to be taking an iPad or kindle to the beach if you know that you are going to be in the water most of the day. The only thing that Kyss bag is good for is to hog a lounge chair on board the ship. You can probably chain two lounges together with one bag.

     

    I disagree. I think most beach theft is theft of convenience. Walk by and casually pick up an unattended bag. With so many to choose from, they will not risk getting caught over a secured bag.

  4. Our upsell offer was about a month before the cruise. That was last August. I really wonder if they are still doing that as the Yacht Club secret seems to be out and booked up on a regular basis.

    (Just kidding. I'm not neat at home, but for some reason I become tidy on a cruise.)

  6. The size of the bathroom is increased from 24 sq ft . to 33 sq ft.

     

    there is no way to tell if a cabin has a bathroom unless you have access to the TA list of cabin dimensions or you find a post from someone who has had that cabin before and been given the dimensions in their booking

  7. How can you tell if a cabin has a shower or a tub? We recently booked the Meraviglia cabin 14069. Nothing indicated on the deck plan. When we got our confirmation it says we have a "bathtube". I don't want that if it reduces the size of the bedroom part of the cabin. Also, does it mean no couch? Thanks

     

    Anyone know?

  9. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the TA in this. I was literally on the phone with mine while reading and she explained some of the many issues she's had with MSC's customer service. She's been hung up on several times, and after being on hold for more than an hour or more. She said it took 8 months to get deposits back for clients - after canceling, MSC doesn't just refund your money. It has to be requested in a written letter for each cabin/client.

     

    As most things, it probably just depends on who you get on the other end of the phone. I have never had problems with MSC customer service. Just recently I cancelled a trip due to an itinerary change and I was refunded for both the deposit and a prepaid excursion within 2 weeks. It was over the phone, easy as could be.
