Thanx! I do realize that conditions can & will change on a day to day basis. My friends are leaving Aug. 26 & my cruise is Sept.2. I thought if I threw the question out others who are cruising now would be

aware of the issue as no one was addressing it anywhere else on CC. We hear about the California fires every day but not much about BC.

How is the air quality in Victoria now? We will be there on our cruise. If we are prone to URI issues, should we be concerned?

The Jewel was R/T from Miami to San Juan, St. John's, Antigua, St. Thomas, GSC.

If you are in a suite you just request your butler to bring you a nice selection of cheese and crackers. There is no cost.

True, but for the difference between my "fire sale" balcony & a suite, I could buy a LOT of cheese plates and take another cruise.

Anyone had experience with either? I can pre-order a cheese plate for 4 prior to boarding for about the same as having a cheese plate delivered from room service. Are they essentially the same?

You cannot get off the ship in Gatun lake UNLESS you have a tour booked thru the ship.

Panama controls the travel & it is their rule, not NCL's. I'm sure something will be posted @ some point.

Does anyone have an idea/theory on why the bidding starts at 80 days? It seems like no one is getting an upgrade before the 30 day mark and most at 10, so why 80? I am still 50 days away and have changed my bid at least 20 times both up and down. This long wait is making me nuts.

We actually had our bid accepted @ 42 days out. We bid once, did not adjust it after & waited. Maybe they are waiting to see how many times you are willing to alter your bid & how high you are willing to go before you stop bidding.

What does it mean if the offer goes away completely after I have already bid? I am 50 days out & it was there this AM, open to modification, but now all offers are gone along with the banner.

Think hotel type coffee pots with the single serve flat pods, not Keurig style. You would have difficulty using your own coffee in the shallow holder.

Correction on my part. We were just on the Pearl in a balcony. There was a Hamilton Beach 5 cup coffee pot in our cabin so you can bring small filters & your own coffee.

Thank you for responding! Just need a good old fashioned coffee pot. We bring a pound of our favorite mix with us. We drink the ships coffee too but that first one in the morning needs to be my mix. Some have the pot and some don't. Wasn't sure about the Pearl.

I got an Upsell email today for our 3/13/17 Panama Canal cruise offering an upgrade from an inside to a balcony for $250/pp. We took it. We kept our UBP & our 5 dinner dining pkg. They also offered a minisuite for $400/pp -not worth the difference.

I see posts that "There is no heat" on the Ecstasy. "No heat"? Does that mean I can turn down/off the A/C & have ambient heat only? Should I pack for a cold cabin @ night?

So, my friend & I were hoping we could share an evening dining table with others for the fellowship so we signed up for "Anytime" thinking that would work. It sounds as if I am wrong in that. But I really don't want assigned dinner time. Are we destined to eat at a 2 top only?

Deli is usually good. May have to ask for double meat and more time pressing to get it toasted.

NCL is my first choice (I have 3 upcoming-one leaving Sat.) but my friend needed a port we could drive to so Charleston & CCL won out for Feb. And, of course, I realize there are seats in the buffet. I should have clarified with "dining rooms open for lunch". Thanx for the info tho.

Bummer! NCL has a dining room open for a nice sit down. Oh well, we'll survive. After all, we're cruising!

We booked a 2017 Panama Canal cruise on Black Friday 2015 & got 2 perks (UBP & SDP) per person on an inside cabin.

We use straps. I also keep photos of our luggage on my phone should I need to file a lost luggage complaint as it helps with description.

Anyone know if they still do lunch? Love me a good cigar after a nice leisurely meal and a drink-or two!

I just spoke with NCL re: my booked 10 day cruise on the Pearl & was told a spa pass would be $149/pp for the 10 day cruise & it would be eligible to book online 90 days before the scheduled cruise.

There is a list of acronyms under the FAQ section of CC home page. It just isn't specific to NCL.

....as they all take place on one of the Hawaii Islands-thus they are especially great reads for a cruise, especially on the POA if anyone has that on their to-do list.
