Are there car rental shuttles for all major car rentals? Thanks thinking it would be the easiest

Where you headed to that you're wanting a car, and for how long? Sometimes are car for a couple of days in a city situation is a pain. Hotel parking, gas, returning it. Sometimes, its truly cheaper to Uber around for a few days.

Miami Beach is a good option. But if its just for food no reason to go over there. Plenty of good options in Downtown Miami and Brickell.
Though the ambience of Miami Beach and especially Lincoln Road is fantastic.
I would think your last sentence would be reason enough. LOL. Miami Beach is exciting at any age, I'mve been walking my kids on Ocean Dr since they were 3 years old. They're 18 now. they love it!

Unless you live somewhere that doesn't have all the chain eateries that Bayside has, why not uber on over to Miami Beach and try something there. Even slices of pizza at Rustico are better than chain dining on vacation. (or even non-vacation), but like I said, if you don't have them at home, then go for it.

For breakfast in Lauderdale we love Primanti Brothers. We usually stay at the W, or Hilton - its a five block walk north up A1A. The food is good greasy spoon diner style and so cheap its laughable, We eat at the counter, because that's what you do in those places. I think our eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee breakfast cost as much as a poolside drink at the hotel. LOL.

I'm a pretty active contributor over there....thanks.

Not really walk-able if you're hauling a bunch of stuff. Stanton is on 1st, big name stores are on 5th, then you have to walk west another block or two to get to anything, and then you have to walk back, in the heat, with stuff.
Stayed at the Stanton a half a dozen times. We love that place. Go to Big Pink's for lunch, you won't be disappointed. I'll be there next week!

We love the Marriott. We've stayed there maybe 5 times, a couple years ago, we did 4 nights at Margaritaville. We won't be going there back.

Has anyone stayed here yet? We usually stay at the W 2 doors down and we are happy with that, what I like is these jr suites that appear to actually be poolside. I think we will give it a whirl for 2 nights, how bad can it because, but I'd will like to get some feedback :)

just be aware that on the newer big ships you have to examine deck plans carefully
it may look as if interior rooms are directly opposite balcony in fact the interior rooms are accessed via a separate corridor-its a blank wall opposite the balcony door
could be a nasty surprise if not aware
Yes. Get an inside that is on the corner of main hallway and interior corridor and get the balcony closest to that one. Their door will be in the interior corridor. We did this 3 years ago and I was weary of the set up. It was fine. I'm so grateful my PCC pointed this out to me. I called with the cabins I selected and he told me the same thing about the corridors.

My understanding is that Shore Excursions need to be booked outside of the 48hrs prior to sailing. However, it's possible I'm wrong and maybe your tickets will be in your cabin when you board, if so, all good. If not, just go to the excursion desk on the ship. Shouldn't be a problem.
Enjoy your cruise.
Thank you. I called the shoreex desk and my PCC. Nothing has been charged to my account. So I'm not going to fret. But if you can't book outside of 48 hours, why make the option available on my NCL? So weird.

This is a great question and originally I thought I knew the answer! We were in the haven on the breakaway , we had 5 in the cabin and about 1 month before the sailing I tried to add my niece. Long story short even if the cabin shows it holds 6 ( in our case) we couldn't do it because of the lifeboat assignments. Someone with more knowledge than me can answer why but I can only assume they try to keep the families ttogether? And by that time our assigned boat was full ? Anyway call NCL or your TA they can tell you . Other than that if you can do it then yes

Yep. I have two cabins. Each sleeps four. We only have 2 in each. I called to add DD's friend and neither of our cabins/lifeboats could accommodate her.

Last night I purchased an excursion via NCL website and all I received is "your purchase is confirmed". I didn't get a confirmation number nor an email, and my card hasn't even been charged. I have two cabins and the same thing happened for both. So my long question is.....is this normal? We sail tomorrow.

didn't read all of the post or replies....but I think NCL requires your passport to be valid for 6 months during your cruise, right?

The NCL iconcierge app is free, but only free to see your on board account or book a reservation. You pay $10 per device for texting capabilities to those who also bought it on the ship. Up until a few months ago, you were able to text home w that app to another iPhone. It was a glitch and I understand that glitch is gone.

I've Groupon'd in NYC for the big bus and a 3 hour pedi cab through Central Park. I called the company directly to ask about the groupon. The pedi company told me to book right from them and they will honor the groupon price. I think when it goes that way, they don't have to pay a fee. I felt better going directly from them than a voucher through Groupon.

Cruise ships take passengers according to how many life boats there are in each muster station. So a sold out cruise isn't necessarily a cruise selling at capacity. It's just how many people are in a particular muster station. I have two cabins. Each sleeps 4, 2 people in each cabin. I was going to add DD's friend to our trip. There wasn't any room for her in life boats and therefore a no go.

Agree that some ships handle it better than others.
Also, once the initial shock of so many people is over, things begin to seem normal. ;)
I agree 100%. Usually after day two, folks have settled into their routines and the crowds disperse.

I was going to post the same exact question. We leave with a permanent DL as well.

They're mailed to us so we can be checked through Homeland Security databases. There will be a point in time when you renew that yours will be mailed too.

Where do you live that you do not walk out the door of the DMV with your permanent drivers license?
Illinois mails them too. DD16 will be sailing w her paper ID and I'm freaking out.

How old are the nieces? Young enough to fit on a pull out couch? If I recall, the pull outs at Embassy are not full beds, more like big twin. Probably a two bedroom suite is what you'll need.
