  1. We have decided to arrive early pre-cruise to explore New York City for a couple of days before heading to the Cape Liberty cruise terminal. If we check out of our hotel by 11:00 - 11:30am, approximately what time will we get to the cruise port? We will not be driving so I will arrange for a shuttle to take us to Bayonne, NJ. Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. We have decided to forego the formal dress on our upcoming Allure cruise too. I have always rented a tux for my husband but because there's so much happening on these big ships, we decided to dress casual for this cruise. If we eat in the MDR on a non-formal night, will my husband be okay in casual pants with a short-sleeve polo shirt or is it only long-sleeve shirts with jacket allowed in the MDR? I forgot what the rule of thumb is besides no jeans/shorts. Thanks for your help.

  3. Thank you for letting us follow along on your Allure trip. I'm from Vancouver, Canada and I'm trying to find the shortest flight to FLL. You mentioned a direct flight from SEA which isn't far from Vancouver. Can you tell me which airline, the departure and arrival times. How long of a taxi ride is it from FLL to Port Everglades? Are there lots of taxis available? Wasn't sure whether to book a shuttle or take a taxi. Sorry for all the questions. I got the cruise book but having trouble getting there!! Thanks in advance for your help. Have a great cruise and I look forward to your updates.

  4. Hi there. I just started reading your review - great photos!. My family was suppose to be on this cruise but due to a death in the family we had to cancel. We hope to rebook this same itinerary at a later date so I'm really enjoying your beautiful photo review of your trip. I'm not sure if anyone else asked this question already but I wanted to know if Celebrity offered any laundry service (wash & fold) during this long cruise. If so, how many times. As there is no laundry facility onboard the Solstice, I'm worried how to keep packing to a minimal but have enough clean clothes to wear on board especially when travelling with a young child. Thanks for your help.

  5. Thank you both for sharing your comments and showing pics of 12729. It definitely doesn't show the bridge on the Royal Caribbean deck plans so I wasn't expecting that (only found out from reading reviews on CC)! I guess it will be shady but at least I will still get a view of the water and the Aqua Theatre. It sure looks from one of the pictures that you can just reach up and touch the bottom of that bridge. I hope it's not that close. Thanks again everyone.

  7. Hi wismergirl. I'm enjoying your review. Thanks for sharing the info and pictures of the Family Oceanview room. There hasn't been much info on these rooms. We are booked in one for next year on the 7th floor. My only concern is that I will be be seasick due to the room being at the very front of the ship. Did your parents encounter any seasickness? Was the ship rocking more at the front? Are the porthole windows big enough to get a good view out? Thanks in advance for your help.
