  1. Loved the room and the balcony last February, but did find some noise issues..they seemed to rearrange that heavy teak furniture above at midnight or 1. No noise at all in the corner FOV on deck 9 the previous year. This year we will see how the aft balconies are on deck 11! We do love aft balconies and the Summit.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. This will be our cabin in 5 weeks for 14 days going to New England and Canada. We had 9197 in 2010 for the same trip. We enjoyed this cabin very much and we are very lucky to be able to get another corner aft room.

Since then I see from your pictures that they have added new balcony furniture and television's. Very nice.

Thanks again, you got me in the mood to start packing. Can't wait.

It was fun to see "our" cabin from 1 1/2 years ago since it was Solsticized. Balcony furniture is much nicer! Flat screens look so much less retro! The room in those cabins! And those corner balconies! I hope to someday snag one of these six cabins again, though it's all luck and timing if there are just two of you. We are doing the bigger aft aqua class on the new deck on our next Summit cruise, but it will never compare.

  3. Thanks so much for your review! We have 1140 booked for next Feb, booked it last Feb., so we did get to see it from "afar" and we were pretty sure with our decision...but nothing beats a first hand account! We were surprised to snag 1140 for less than a C1 but I think there was still some reservations before many people had actually "lived it." Cannot wait...and hope my feet get as tanned as yours!

  4. Of course, THIS FAQ topic gives information that is contradictory to what I have been told by Celebrity as well as some people on this thread.

Can I purchase a package and then just pay the difference in price for any drinks above the package price threshold?

    Subject: Beverage Packages

No. Any drinks requested above the price threshold will be charged at full price.

I have been told that with the Premium Alcohol Package, you CAN simply pay the difference when the beverage exceeds $12/glass.

I think that they should put a bit more time into their FAQ's!

On the Summit last August they told us we would be charged in full for any drinks above the premium thresh hold yet I had read extensively on these boards that you could just pay the difference on other shops. It matters to us because it opens up many more wines and champagnes choices by the glass. Any recent experiences on Summit?

  5. In August we had the premium package on the Summit and guest relations were most firm that drinks over $12 would be charged in full. I was a bit annoyed because I had read before on these boards that now there was only an up charge. And I have read so since we've been back. Wish we could get a definitive answer! Does it vary by ship? That doesn't make sense...

  6. On Solstice last week I had the premium alcohol package and could just pay the difference over the $12 cost.

I was also getting a brand new bottle of wine offered to me from which I had my wine by the glass. The bottle was kept chilled a few feet away from me so it was as if I was having a bottle to myself anyway.

I'm glad for you and so annoyed that the policy isn't consistent between ships! Could anyone point me to the official release or statement that pertains to the change in policy so I can bring it to the attention of someone at Celebrity. I'd just like to help out the next person on the Summit!

  7. We were on the summit last week and guest services on board said we would be charged full price for any drink exceeding $12. We did find this really limited our wine selections, especially in the Normandie. Last Feb. Cakebread sauvignon blanc was $12, but now $14.still enjoyed the package from our first Cova coffees to our pre dinner Martinis to after dinner drinks at Micheals but...no question wine is a weak spot if you go for the package.

  8. Just off the Summit and select dining was great. We had a standing reservation for 7pm, but were easily able to change it when we wanted to dine with some friends who were also select. If they hadn't been doing select dining as well I think this might have been a problem. They were using a larger area of the upper level for select last week as they had so many requests booked, but we never saw people waiting and it was very organized.

  9. Hi Carol!

I was struggling to figure all this out and ran across your name. It seems like the Enchantment was ages ago already! Doug and I are doing the Mariner from LA Feb. 14, 2010, and I'm trying to figure out Priceline for a hotel the night before. Hope you and Phylis are well! Linda and Doug
