Excited to be boarding Rotterdam on December 29th. My parents are surprising my kids with this cruise for Christmas, going to be an exciting Christmas Morning for our girls 🙂
-
Confirming there is no need to arrive 2-3 hours ahead of your boarding time? HAL agent told family to arrive 2 hours ahead of boarding time (11:40 for Vancouver departure), seems odd???
-
Thank you everyone - we are 5 days out and still waiting. I just would like to be able to print luggage tags at home, so realistically by Thursday evening would be ideal 😉
Fingers crossed!!! -
Just curious to hear from those who have booked cabin's in a GTY category, when did you receive your cabin assignment? We are 12 days to sailing and still TBA 🙂
-
Hello - just upgraded our parents to a Club Suite on the Encore for a 21 day sailing. I understand the rooms are similar to balconies, with a larger bathroom, but can't seem to find details on all of the perks. I have read the following:
- treats delivered to stateroom (How many days and what on a 21 day sailing)?
- bottle of sparkling wine
- one laundry bag (would it be more on a 21 day sailing)?
Am I missing anything? -
I had put bids in on Forward Facing Haven and Club Suite for my inlaws on Encore. Today, they got their Club Suite Bid accepted (70pp) and sailing is 4 days out. They had a balcony cabin previously.

We are on Panorama the beginning of November and have a GTY as well, still no assignment. We have 2 cabins, both Balcony GTY (one for 2 and one for 4), will update when we get our assignment.
-
Following - we have a Balcony GTY on Nov 5th and still don't have assignment
-
Hunnibee72 - when did you end up getting your cabin assignment?

Oh shoot really = sigh, I didn't realize that. How would I get the name of a good one? lol
-
Would anyone mind messaging me a good personal cruise consultant name/contact info?
-
Great highflyingrealtor - we are still patiently waiting lol

Following along as we are on the Panorama on November 5th and waiting on cabin assignments 🙂

Just refreshing my memory for testing as we leave Wednesday from Vancouver. It now says 2 days, which would mean Monday or Tuesday would be satisfactory for antigen testing correct?

Everyone is Northward Bound - some to the lovely Northern Isles & another to Alaska. Any of the itineraries look lovely 👍 No matter which itinerary our CC friends have chosen, we wish them great times in their ports, beautiful sightings and scenery and hope they have a wonderful time on their Blue Hulled Beauties. And, of course we wish them fair winds and smooth seas.
Bon Voyage to Nieuw Statendam - 14 night Northern Isles:
MikeD4134 - have a great 34th anniversary celebration on board!
Bon Voyage to Nieuw Statendam - 24 day Northern Isles & Baltic Jewels:

If you plan on using a set appointment proctor get it set now. If you are going to join a queue for a proctor it can be a bit of a wait at certain times I hear. yMMV!
Thank you muffin - I agree.
We are going to use WM Life Centres and I will book them this weekend as we are a family of 6 total who are cruising.
Really wishing I had gotten my positive PCR in April (only had rapid home tests and didn't have cruise booked so didn't think of it) as it would take the stress out of testing lol -
Thank you everyone. Will do virtually supervised test Monday night or Tuesday am so we can upload everything in advance.
-
According to the HAL Website, must take a supervised antigen test within 2 days of embarkation. For a cruise leaving Wednesday does this mean you could test any day from Monday. Tuesday or Wednesday?
Has anyone sailed from Vancouver recently, did you test Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? Thanks in advance.

Yes they do, I showed my positive test and a letter of recovery from my Dr. You must be with in a 90 day window of your positive test tho. But you can’t use the VeriFLY app. Checkin process was only about 30 mins from start to in our stateroom.
Was it just a signed letter from your GP? Also going from Vancouver (inside passage) and curious what would be required if went this route.

Thank you so much @kentuckycruiser- so helpful. We have done mostly Carnival but my parents wanted us to come on HAL with them so we are looking forward to it 🙂

I actually leave after you - June 25 out of Vancouver. I've read/heard/watched enough - the consensus is HAL is light on kids, but Alaska is probably their most kid-friendly offering because Alaska cruises peak during summer vacation and it's full of multi-generational bucket-listers.
Agreed - just hoping a few more kids don't go to the last day or two of school so they have other people to talk to lol

Hi there - was hoping those of you that have sailed out of Vancouver this year could possibly give me a rough idea of boarding times? We don't have one assigned as of yet, but need to book our transfer to the port. If I could get a rough idea on boarding for a 4:30 departure it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
When does HAL assign guarantee cabins?
