  1. From Carnival

Cruise credits are issued in the name of the original payee, regardless of whether they were ever booked in the cancelled reservation.

For bookings paid with a travel agency credit card or check, the cruise credit will then be issued in the name of the cancelled guest.

Perhaps you booked through a travel agent ss70chev

Yes, I booked from a travel agent. This is good to know! :)

  2. The future cruise credit is linked to the credit card used not the person. If you used your card then all the future credits would be yours to use within 24 months of cancellation. You cannot use them on your current though it has to be one in the future.

I am not sure if this is correct. I cancelled on a cruise that included my daughter, husband and I. I rebooked a different cruise with only my husband and I and could not use the $200 from my daughters payment even though I paid the entire amount on my credit card.

  3. I don't see a problem as long as you book that way. 2 who drink in one cabin and 2 who don't in another.

I will throw this in though, I booked this way for a different reason with another couple. The other couple backed out after final payment and I was stuck with 2 cabins. I would definitely purchase insurance if you do this with cancellation options.

  4. Thanks for the advice for those who have stayed on the second deck. :)

I choose this cabin because it was the only deck other than one that had an oceanview available. I usually book balconies but trying to save a little money this time. I just don't want to be sorry with the smell issue.

  5. I am having second thoughts on the cabin I booked. I booked online and final payment has been made. I am booked under the casino rate. I am in an oceanview cabin on the second deck on the valor. I read a few reviews about a sewer smell on lower decks. I have actually experienced this once walking on a low deck before on another cruise. I have a very sensitive stomach to smells and it would really bother me if I had this experience. Do you think it will be okay or should I call Carnival and see if they can help me with this?

    Opinions please.

  6. We are cruising on the Westerdam for Thanksgiving. What type of Culinary Classes do they have? This is our second Cruise with Holland. Our last was a Mediterranean and it was so port intensive that we did not do much on the ship. One thing that I remember was having breakfast on our balcony every morning from room service. We had a suite last last time but only a veranda this time. Can we still have a full breakfast on the balcony. I absolutely loved it last time.

I also remember meeting the best people on that cruise. We are still friends with one couple we met. We usually cruise Carnival due to our daughter but she got married this year so we are trying HAL again and looking forward to it. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  7. I would love to know more about the wine tasting on the ship. My husband does not like wine so I have never tried this before. The time I am traveling with my daughter and son-in-law so I want to experience this on the ship. Do they have food pairings?

  8. For the one we went on in March, there were a number of people they invited. There was a welcome gathering with drinks and munchies. Then at the end of the week, there was a thank you kind of gathering with drinks.

I received my first casino offer for only a discounted cruise. I have only sailed once with HAL back in 2009 to the Mediterranean. I usually cruise on Carnival about once a year. We booked a good deal for Thanksgiving on the Westerdam. Does anyone know if we will be receiving the invite to welcome gathering also if only offered a discount and not a free cruise? :)

  9. I am thinking of booking the Canada/New England cruise on the Splendor. I have never cruised or been to New York. I would love the see the Statue of Liberty from my balcony. Should I book Starboard or Port? Also can anyone advise if the "L" shaped cabins on deck 6 are better than a regular balcony? Both port and starboard are open for my dates. Thanks!

  10. Thinking of board a Canada/New England cruise on Carnival Splendor. Does anyone know if a Port or Starboard balcony would be better? I have never seen the Statue of Liberty and would like to make sure I pick the right cabin.

    Thanks!

  11. After 12 cruises, I finally had the upgrade fairy call me. My daughter's cabin was upgraded from a interior stateroom to a deluxe oceanview. I booked her room on the Halloween special as a guaranteed inside cabin so I got a great deal for the deluxe oceanview. :D

Now is they would upgrade my balcony to a suite, I will have it made. LOL :)

  12. Sorry, I don't mean to hi-jack your post but this is a little disturbing to me. My husband and I are cruising with our daughter and a friend. My husband and I are platinum and my daughter and friend are under 25. Carnival made us split up in two my daugther and I in one cabin she is 19, her friend and my husband are in a different cabin her friend is 24.

All of us are on the same onboard account. Does this mean they will need to check in separate or will they be considered minors since they can not have their own cabin? If separate, can we all just go through the regular line? I am not comfortable with them checking in on their own.

  13. Except it's from HAL.

Only for a handful of late November to mid-December sailings. Still, 7 nights for only taxes and fees. Only $100 to upgrade to a balcony.

But I'm sailing on the 11/29 Freedom sailing with my first-ever Premier Casino offer. And I'm within the penalty phase (of course).

So, after all whining, I finally got the Premier offer a couple of months ago. The only one I could book was one of the most expensive (of course), and I'm going solo because no one else could get time off work or had Thanksgiving plans with family (of course).

I currently have another round of Premier offers (not free), but they're all during tax season so I can't go on any of them (of course).

    Doesn't it just figure?

Know what? I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my Bermuda cruise (it's stupidly expensive) and see what happens if I actually have NO Carnival cruises booked.

I sailed HAL once (Hawaii, November 2010). It was wonderful. I still get mailings and emails from them but simply haven't gotten around to sailing them again. I'm thinking as soon as I get my Milestone benefit, I'm off to HAL (and will probably try Celebrity).

Once I move on to other lines, Carnival will probably start sending me all sorts of wonderful offers (of course!). :p

Congrats! I have hope it will happen to me one day. I am platinum on Carnival, and have cruised Royal, Holland, Norwegian. I gamble on all ships but never have receive an offer. The only thing that I have received is an email stating that I would receive a premium bon voyage basket which never came. LOL

Did the offer come in the mail or via email?

Congrats again! Hope you have a nice cruise!
