  1. I tried YTD once and it was a nightmare. It has been a few years though. On elegant night we waited in line to get a pager. They ran out of pagers so we had to stand in line for the pager. We waited almost two hours and gave up and went to the steakhouse. It was not a pleasant experience. We now book late dining that way we are not rushed at port.

I also enjoy having the same waiter nightly.

  2. Thank you for posting this! I have been thinking about this also. I booked ES and got the casino offer a week later. It is only about a $90.00 savings, but $90.00 onboard credit will treat us to the steakhouse one night. I just filled out the price protection form. :)

  3. Alaska was one of my favorite cruises. We went of RCL but I really do not think the cruise line makes a huge difference on an Alaskan cruise. We had a OV cabin with a window ledge at the bottom of the ship. Being from Atlanta, I was up daily at about 4:00 am there. I enjoyed many mornings sitting on the window ledge watching the whale and sea lions from the window. We also went early June and it was very cold out on the decks when the ship was moving, but in port it was quite warm. Remember to dress in layers, take a good quality camera that was a good zoom feature and some binoculars. Hope you have a great time!:)

  4. On the cheers package, do all adults in the same cabin have to purchase the package or only the first two? If the first two, what if one is a minor? My daughter is booked as second guest because we are doing a spa cabin and it does not interest my husband. My husband does not drink so it would be a waste to have to purchase two cheers packages.

  5. We did a Alaskan cruise a few years ago with RCL. It was in early June. We had an oceanview cabin with window ledge on a low floor. I spent many early mornings (around 4 am) watching the whale out of the window sitting on the ledge. It was too cold to be outside on the deck while we were at sea, but very warm in port. I will always cherish those mornings watching the whales. I can honestly say it was one of my best cruises. The ship had no bearing, the scenery was beautiful.

  6. I agree it is lacking. We cruised another line to Europe a couple of years ago and could order anything the dining room was serving in our room. We did have a high category verandah, but loved having breakfast on the balcony. It was definitely worth the extra $$ to me. I wish Carnival would add this perk. I would gladly pay extra for the benefit.
