Generally they will begin disembarkation at 7:00AM with Walk Off's followed by general disembarkation.   Disembarkation is done by calling luggage tag numbers and last call is around 9:00 AM.    Travel time to BCN is about 30 minutes and you should plan minimum of 1 1/2 hour to arrive.     I would plan on booking a flight after 12:30 for a comfortable disembarkation and not feel rushed.

I agree with Jim. Have disembarked in Barcelona a few times and never had a problem with a flight after 12:30 when going to LHR.  I'm doing just that when we get off the Constellation next month. That said there is not a lot to do at LHR so you might consider a later flight and take the celebrity tour of barcelona with airport drop off. Should be on your cruise planner under shore excursions.

  2. Quick question for all you experts. Can you get captains club happy hour drinks in Oceanview?  I know you can't in the restaurants but this is a bit more of a lounge where I tend to read a book/play cards on a wet day. (I'm on a transatlantic next month) Also are specialty Coffees available throughout the day at Secondo al bacio as we are Elite Plus or do we have to go down to Al Bacio

Having part read this post before bedtime and read the rest this morning I think there are three significant points…I do hope someone from Celebrity is reading this thread….

Sky Suite guests have paid for a product that has changed. One of their perks (a butler) has disappeared. Whilst for some guests this may not be important for others it was a significant factor in their room choice. I totally understand this. As a guest with limited mobility I do want to be able to ask my butler to bring me coffee and (for the first time) I may actually request help with unpacking.

There has been no communication. This is simply inexcusable in this day and age. When the company can spend time and effort highlighting a return to the RC private island why haven’t they communicate this significant change? Ironically with a good sales team they could have tried to sell it as ‘Improving our service for Sky Suites, now you will be looked after by a dedicated team…’. Much as I am sure we would have seen through the smoke it would have been a much better way to introduce the changes to guests who have booked a Sky Suite. Also if the ‘Retreat Team’ is a dedicated group of former butlers who will provide a butler type service then a lot of concerns could have been addressed.

The third issue is one of trust…When booking any expensive item significantly ahead of time you do so with the belief that you have a legal and moral contract with the company. Quite simply you will get what you have paid for. Both this change and the lack of communication of its implementation shakes the trust of all. Most cruisers (including suite guests) are not rich. They simply organise their income to include their ‘treat’ of a cruise…They are booking with expectations and dreams…There is a moral responsibility of all in the hospitality industry to make those dreams come true…

    Excellent summary.  Well said

  4. OK Looks like I'm on my own on this one!!

I like tender ports as you get to see smaller places, but still be the benefits of a larger ship, and the arrival has more of a nautical effect. However all the cruise lines need to consider passenger welfare and make sure everyone is included and safe.

So I've suggested a number of times that that tender ports should be limited to 1 a week and only where shore side, large, good quality tenders are available.

Most of the above situations are totally unacceptable and, unfortunately, not uncommon. But are easily managed with a little more preparation and thought!!

  5. I never seem to have any luck with "move up's" and can only guess I need to offer more!!

However I'm sailing on edge on 30th July and 2 weeks ago all my offers expired except one - Good news? Maybe but it's stayed like that for over 2 weeks and I can't change anything.

HELP - Anyone have any idea what's going on?

  6. Although I agree that the movement to AI has diluted the captains club benefits there are still a number that can be used and add some value to loyalty.

That said the perception is not good. These are difficult times and it’s unwise to upset any customer let alone your most loyal.

im sure celebrity will continue to assess both the benefits and the need for an additional level at about the 1500 point mark against customer retention

Personally I cruise with Celebrity because the core product ticks the right boxes for me…. Do I like to get a few perks….YES.    But will it stop me cruising with them ..NO

If you won it your first indication will be your credit card is charged.   I have alerts setup with my CC company and within seconds of it processing my Fitbit vibrates and I see a message that an Charge of XXX amount was made by Celebrity Cruises.   When I open the X app it shows the new room and an email follows shortly.

I won a Penthouse and none had been available for months.    I believe it was a last minute cancellation

Thanks for the quick reply... i'll keep my fingers crossed

  8. I would appreciate anyone's view on this one!!!

If available I always try to "move up" and have a good success rate. I put an offer in for a couple of upgrades and know that when one goes "expired" and the other is still "Pending" but can't be cancelled an upgrade is on it's way...... Do a dummy booking and I can even get some idea of where the cabin is  likely to be

    HOWEVER

I have a cruise on Millennium on a couple of weeks and my CS offer has been rejected and the RS offer can't be cancelled ... great news ...BUT there has been no RS available for months.

    How does that work....

  9. I have been trying to find out what the arrangements are for the "Extend Your Stay" program if you are in a suite. But can't find any reference. In fact I can't find much on it at all!!

Are you permitted to go to the retreat areas, do you get the premium drinks extended, what's the cost etc ...  Any info appreciated

Particularly interested if anyone has done it out of Fort Lauderdale or Rome.

Thanks for any help in advance

  10. Very pleased with my lift and shift.  Moved to 7 night edge from 7 night infinity. Exactly the same dates so no issues with time off work. Got a little refund (£70) as the flights were cheaper. Ports not as attractive but likely to be changed/swooped over the coming months anyway.  Just pleased to be cruising

We booked a b2b in the fall using fcc from a cruise we canceled with cruise with confidence. If these cruises are canceled, we stand to lose about $8000 according to current cruise with confidence rules. Fingers are crossed. This whole thing makes me very nervous. Fingers crossed that they’re just trying to limit capacity rather than cancel infinity’s season.

Any cancellation is far from ideal but I’m sure you will not loose that kind of money.  When eclipse had some cruises last week celebrity offered some “lift and shift” options

I think we should know more this week

I asked Celebrity, and was told today, that:

“We inform you that in this moment we do not have a official communication regarding this topic. The cruise is confirmed for this moment.

If will be new information regarding this topic, please be aware that you will receive a notification by email regarding this.”

    That's as clear as mud!!!

So I asked the question on Twitter I know it’s not much info and I know it could be incorrect.

Interesting wording reviewing the Infinity summer sailings.

Thanks.  I think we have an answer but not yet an outcome.  I hope she still sails fingers crossed
