This was a 7-hour excursion, so it was a long day, but we wanted to see as much as possible while in port. The bus first took us to the Agua Clara Locks observation area. There were several buses here so lots of people other than our bus. There were 4 things at this stop, a movie, restrooms, gift shop and the observation area. We were able to watch an NCL ship coming thru the locks, use restroom, waste our time at the movie, and the line was too long at gift shop to purchase anything before we had to get back on bus. The bus then took us on a driving tour of the area, see bridges over the canal, and explaining canal history. We then headed to Panama City for a driving tour of city then got off bus for a walking tour seeing historical area of the city near and around the square. During the walk we did stop for a short while at a little gift shop. There was little or no time to explore on your own, but our guide kept us busy, and we saw and learned a lot about the city and country the entire time before heading back to the port. Personally, I think we made a wise choice with this excursion.
