  1. I actually found Panama City fascinating. The waterfront had some lovely areas and the Old city and fort had great history and interesting architecture. I also enjoyed the drive as we got to see some of the jungle areas on the way. The best would be a stop at the locks and Panama City.
  2. Thank you so much for this info. It really helps. You are right....we are staying on 36 th St Crowne Plaza.
  3. Hi We will be arriving at LGA on Oct 14 2019 .This is Columbus Day and I know there is a parade in NYC. We are going to the garment district in Manhattan around 9am to our hotel . Will traffic be a problem if we take a taxi at the airport? Should I arrange a private transfer instead? We were going to take the HOHO bus tours, but now wonder if these will operate as normally if there is the parade? Is there a better alternative? Thanks for any help you can offer. We were also going to take a walking Food tour in Little Italy starting around 4pm and I am hoping this won’t be impacted.??? I would love some advice!!!
  4. There are areas in Cape Town where one should exercise caution, however, the V and A water front area is very touristy, lots of restaurants, shops and generally safe as this type of area usually is almost anywhere in the world. There is an excellent HOHO bus with a stop at the V and A which does several routes. December is a very busy time in s Africa as it is school holidays and summer time.Book the hotel early and any tours. We enjoyed going to Cape of Good Hope- a lovely day trip. But again, go very early as the lineups to get into the national park can be enormous. We left Cape Town at 7am and were glad that we did.The Grace Bay Hotel is also lovely on the V and A waterfront. There is a wonderful MOMA (modern art) in this area as well.Their gift shop is amassing.LOVED S Africa
  5. We did this cruise last year on Oceania and were lucky with very calm seas.our cabin was forward and still no trouble. But you can run into rough seas just about anywhere at any time. Get that mid ship cabin on a low deck.It was a great itinerary.
  6. We have done this tour.No need for hiking boots at all unless you go off into the wilderness by yourself ...and then you may have bigger problems than the shoes you are wearing.Good solid running shoes are fine.
  7. Look at Salmonberry Tours. They have some great options and ideas.
  8. We were there a couple of weeks ago and Phillipsburg was great. We caught the water taxi into town ,walked along the boardwalk, stopped for some refreshments at a nice cafe on the front and watched the world go by.Lots of umbrellas and chairs on Great Bay beach. Our daughter went to Simpson Bay for the day and had a great beach day.
  9. We were at Harbour Lights this past week and it was very busy. The Boatyard was even busier. Beautiful beach, but a lot of people. Get there as early as possible .We were in row 4 and we got there at 10:30 am. The umbrellas were almost touching each other in the rows.Food was so - so.
  10. I know that problems happen with airlines, however, when an airline changes their schedule over 4 months prior to departure, RCI air department should send a notice that the flight has been changed.I only noticed the flight change when I got my air tickets less than a month prior to departure.RCI said they had contacted me- they did not.
  11. Unless the airlines changes their schedule, RCI neglects to tell you and then you are on your own or left with a horrible alternative with impossible 1 hour connections in places like Chicago or Atlanta..My personal experience.
  12. Check Island Marketing for day passes too.Less expensive
  13. Darn I just cross checked with Cruise Timetables and you are right. They don’t match for every port. Great idea though
  14. Amazing All I have to do is click on my ship after the date I have chosen and it shows the passenger loads for each port on the itinerary.Grand Cayman is going to be packed. I think I will change my plan. Thank you ,thank you
